It was a late afternoon touchdown into Sydney on New Year's Day for James Packer and Mariah Carey's caravan of love. The lovebirds flew aboard Packer's private jet following their New Year's Eve celebrations in Melbourne, arriving into Sydney about 3pm, before joining pals Sarah and Lachlan Murdoch aboard the media heir's super yacht Sarissa for a tour of the harbour.
Interestingly they would have had a good view of Packer's former marital home, La Mer in Vaucluse, where his ex-wife Erica has been entertaining her new boyfriend, singer Seal. Packer, Carey and her twins were later ensconced in the casino kingpin's Bondi Beach apartment.

They mingled with curious onlookers at a local ice cream parlour before heading back out to Sydney Airport, boarding the private jet late on Friday night bound for Tamworth. They were met in Tamworth by Packer's chopper and flown south to Ellerston, the family's country estate in the Hunter Valley.
The couple along with their combined children are expected to stay at the luxury country estate for the next few days.
