Are Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon getting back together? It's possible, and Gossip Cop has the exclusive details. As Gossip Cop has reported, Carey and Cannon called it quits in 2014 after six years of marriage. The couple has twins together, son Moroccan and daughter Monroe, who will turn 6 later this month. After the breakup, the superstar had a failed engagement with Australian billionaire James Packer, and Carey recently split from dancer Bryan Tanaka after a few months of dating. Meanwhile, Cannon welcomed a son named Golden in February with Brittany Bell, although they are not a couple.
Despite divorcing, Carey and Cannon have remained a significant part of each other's lives. They co-parent their kids together, regularly celebrating holidays as a family, and attended the Kids' Choice Awards as a family last month. Cannon has also made it a point to praise his ex in interviews, repeatedly saying he will always love Carey. In fact, he told "Entertainment Tonight" earlier this month, "That's always my dream girl."
"We talk every single day," he admitted, but still insisted, "I wouldn't want to mess up what we have right now trying to reunite." Yet, speculation about a reunion has increased in recent days. On Friday, Carey posted a photo of herself with Cannon and their kids laying in bed together.
The sweet moment came one day after Carey and Cannon stepped out together for dinner in Beverly Hills. As they left a restaurant, paparazzi shouted questions about getting back together. Asked by a photographer if he and Carey are "official", the "Wild N Out" host responded, "We've always been official." Cannon didn't elaborate.
So, what's the deal? Gossip Cop hears Carey and Cannon are reconnecting. While they remained close while dating other people after their separation, having respective significant others understandably meant that the time they still spent together was limited. That's now changed.
Carey and Cannon are as committed as ever to maintaining their family unit, but it's unclear at this point if they will resume their own partnership. "You never know," one source close to the singer tells Gossip Cop exclusively. Our contact notes that there's "hope" for the former couple, and some close to them are, in fact, "rooting" for a reunion. Right now, anything is possible.
