Mariah Carey looked every inch the diva as she stepped out for a bite to eat in a slinky LBD. The superstar beamed as she made her way out of trendy LA eatery Mr. Chow, showing off her stunning figure after rumours she went under the knife. Wearing a tight-fitting black mini-dress and edgy leather jacket, Mariah showed off her impressive curves.
The hot mother-of-two is reported to have had "secret gastric sleeve surgery" late last year. And she waist-ed no time in showing off the results with her teeny waistline and slender legs accentuated in slimming all-black. The superstar was accompanied by friends and her dancer boyfriend Bryan Tanaka who soon followed the superstar from the establishment.
In October 2017, New York Post's Page Six reported that Mariah had undergone the weight loss surgery. And Entertainment Tonight claimed that the five-octave songstress had already lost two stone by January - but judging by these latest images, she's lost even more in recent months.
Mariah's weight is said to have "skyrocketed" after her split from her billionaire fiancé James Packer, so she sought the help of a top Beverly Hills surgeon, according to Page Six. The procedure involves removing part of the stomach so that the patient feels fuller more quickly. It can be done via a small incision, meaning recovery time is fast and scarring is minimal.
A source told Page Six: "Mariah has always been proud of her curves, but this summer, as her Caesars Palace residency came to a close, and then she went on tour with Lionel Richie." Adding: "She noticed it became harder to dance, and she was getting a lot more criticism online from body shamers."
Following her split from James, Mariah hooked up with dancer Bryan Tanaka and the pair enjoyed the throes of dating - indulging in calorific cocktails and fancy dinners. The source added: "Mariah underwent the procedure about a month ago, and she is already seeing some good results, and she feels a lot better."
Mariah previously managed to shed 70lbs after the birth of her twins in 2011. She dropped weight the old-fashioned way - dieting and exercise. And judging by her beaming smile on this recent trip, it seems like the weight-loss is doing wonders for the Grammy winner. Of course reports of her pocketing a cool $2.1million for the engagement ring ex-fiance James Packer gave her may have something to do with that smile.
The native New Yorker recently spoke out about her battle with bipolar disease which she says left her "isolated and in constant fear". She decided to open up about her struggle after 17 years because it was "too heavy a burden to carry". Speaking to People, Mariah said: "Until recently I lived in denial and isolation and in constant fear someone would expose me. It was too heavy a burden to carry and I simply couldn't do that anymore. I sought and received treatment, I put positive people around me and I got back to doing what I love - writing songs and making music."
The record-breaking singer, producer and actress confirmed in January that she's back in the studio and working on a new album. It will be her 15th studio album, likely to be released in the summer, which comes four years after her last release.
