Mariah Carey to take Christmastime special international

Queen of Christmas Mariah Carey is expanding her reign, and South America is her next stop. The Songbird Supreme officially announced her first-ever Brazilian holiday shows, marking the countdown to the holiday season as already underway.

Carey will bring her celebrated "Christmas Time" experience to two of Brazil’s biggest stages, delivering an unprecedented show the country has never seen. Fans can expect exclusive costumes, a world-class production, and, of course, the legendary hits that have cemented Mariah’s status as the undisputed queen of the holiday season.

Based on the comments I've read so far, more than half of the people are unhappy with this news. Well, IMHO, no one should be scared or worried about Mariah's legacy. Whether we like it or not, Christmas is already a part of that legacy, a huge one, which makes sense since the song and the album peaked and achieved success in the latter part of her career. So, for the younger fans or people who witnessed it, they have come to know her through it more than the impact she has already made in the first fifteen years of her music career. For the people and lambs who witnessed her success in those times, whether we like it or not, that success is already part of her legacy. Most people from that era will always remember her for the songs and albums that profoundly impacted their lives. That kind of legacy is even more significant than "All I Want for Christmas Is You". Mariah Carey will always be celebrated for her vocal talent, chart-topping successes, and timeless, heartfelt lyrics, as well as for her inspiring songs that have influenced and transformed the pop and R&B music industry. If these elements don't define Mariah's legacy, then I don't know what does. While many people over the past ten years may associate her primarily with Christmas, music enthusiasts from the '90s and 2000s know that Mariah's legacy extends far beyond the holiday season.

If an artist has one song that returns to No. 1 globally every single year for decades, that's not irrelevance - that's cultural permanence. Most artists would love to have one song with that level of longevity. Mariah has an entire career plus the biggest modern Christmas song. Being relevant every December for 30+ years is still being relevant.
