Mariah Carey's upcoming Christmas show at Nottingham's Motorpoint Arena is still going ahead, despite a message that popped up on Ticketmaster this week claiming that the show - and two others she's set to perform in the UK next month - had been rescheduled.
A number of fans were left panicked this week when they were faced with an error message while trying to get their hands on tickets for Mariah's All I Want For Christmas Is You shows in Nottingham on December 9, Leeds on December 10 and London on December 11.
While checking for tickets on Ticketmaster, they were faced with an error message that read: "We're sorry, but this event has been rescheduled." The issue appeared on the pages for all three of the singer's upcoming festive UK shows, including her gig in Nottingham.
Fans were quick to send worried tweets to the star asking why she'd decided to reschedule, though it fortunately turned out that the error message claiming the dates of the gigs had been changed was simply an accidental glitch on Ticketmaster's website.
"Spoken to both the arena and Ticketmaster who have assured me it's not been rescheduled and it's just a glitch," one fan confirmed amid the confusion. Ticketmaster's customer service Twitter account then added: "Sorry for any confusion - this event is still going ahead, if there was an update to your event we would email you directly."
Ruth Andrews, Marketing & Communications Manager at the Motorpoint Arena Nottingham, told Nottinghamshire Live: "Ticketmaster's technical glitch has been fixed and as far as we're concerned, the Mariah Carey event is going ahead here on December 9... and we can't wait!"
Speaking of the Christmas shows earlier this year, Mariah said: "It feels great to be heading back to Europe for this All I Want For Christmas is You Tour. I love touring and being with fans anyway, but then at Christmas and being able to experience other cultures and how they celebrate, it's a great feeling."
