Speaking of AHS, Mariah would also fit in perfectly in "Scream Queens". The show has comedy, mystery and Chanel (Emma Roberts) is the ultimate diva in it haha. Her one-liners are the best.

That skin no flaw (59,179)

Um what is this? That skin is a vision of perfection. I need the secret behind this, unless it's bathing in virgin's blood at regular intervals (in that case, MC holla at your girl through private messages because we don't want to make that public).

If you are talking about the Martin Luther King quotes, it's because it's Martin Luther King day. Everyone is posting his quotes on social media.

B for Balmain (59,175)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
| |
|
|
So I know I am late for this (for some reason for the last couple of days, I am having problems logging on to this site from my country and I had to use a proxy) but B, did you see we finally got Mariah in a Balmain? Although this was not the type of jacket I was rooting for as it is pretty plain. I wanted her to wear the edgier military jackets like this or this. She chose the safest jacket from Balmain haha. But no seriously, Mariah we need the edgier varieties, the ones Balmain is famous for.

Empire (59,174)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
| |
|
|
I was pretty pumped about Mariah being on "Empire" during the first season, because it was great. If she doesn't guest star in it now, I don't mind, I'd rather have her be on "How To Get Away With Murder". That show is getting better and better with each season.

New album (59,104)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
| |
|
|
Whenever Mariah is ready to drop her new album, I hope she gets all her ducks in a row before announcing it. What went messy from 2012-2014 was she kept uploading pictures every day about her being in the studio and talking about surprises and all, which initially got the lambs fired up but then things started to fizzle when there were multiple delays and we never got to see or hear some of the promised surprises. So I hope that Mariah keeps it hush-hush until she has the album completely ready and her singles picked out. Then she can start dropping hints on her social media just a few days before dropping the first single. No more push backs or delays if something like the album name gets leaked, no more chalking songs up as buzz singles if they under perform (in fact she has to be very careful with her single choice, so get someone young to give an opinion), no more long letter with "on the bathroom floor" moments after someone uploads the wrong track on Facebook. Everything has to be just perfect. Side note, Mariah I hope you are working on that club banger. I need a new song to jam to with my girls, I have abused ILT for almost a decade now.

Although Mariah's flashy lifestyle never bothers me (I mean the woman worked hard day in and out and earn them green papers so she can spend it, and I'd rather someone who earned it be flashy than the Kardashian-Jenners). But yes, I want her to get her fire back in her musical career. Mariah Carey can rise up over all if only she puts her all in it. I see that happening gradually since last year, but I hope during the next album release she gets everything right. I need just one more TEOM equivalent success to rub it in some people's faces who keep saying that Mariah is past her sell date. Talent wins over everything and Mariah has talent.

Lord yes, the TAOLG cover art is perfection. That hair is gorgeous. That hair and the hair photo I posted along with the "#Beautiful" video hair and GMA hair were similar if not the same and it was kind of her signature hair style for 2013. Like the mermaid curls were her signature for 2005 and the blow outs for 2008. I think she should cut the hair like the TAOLG. It's hot tamale.

No but the sleek straight is a hit or miss. Sometimes it makes her face look bigger than it really is because straight hair reduces the volume of the hair and since it is lying flat, it makes the face appear bigger. For me I think she should go for her 2013 hair a little shorter and wavy, like the type she had in the "#Beautiful" music video. This is one of my favorite. The hair she had during the GMA performance of #Beautiful is similar and looks great on her. I am absolutely done with the TEOM mermaid curls though. Leave them in 2005. I also love me some blow out hairstyles like this she wore for a magazine shoot. Last but not the least, if she wants curls, the "Hermosa" video curls are the way to go, soft and sexy.

Andrew possessed by the spirit of a positive lamb? (59,085)

Who are you and what have you done to our Andrew? In the name of Butterfly, Charmbracelet and Rainbow, I condemn thee back to Unicorn land. Haha nah just kidding, it's great to see fans like Andrew say positive things about Mariah's improvement because that means that there actually has been a good amount of improvement in her. All aboard the Mariah love train. Looks like we are all ready for the re-emancipation of Mimi.

Darn you Lee TS. I hate your post but everything you said is true. Haha, no I don't hate your post, I just hate the idea about not having new material soon. But you are right, we have been getting "buzz singles" since 2012. Another under performing song and Mariah will suffer a huge blow. So her next "era" needs to be all thought out and planned to perfection. From lead single to packaging, promotion, single plan, album songs, and music videos.

Bless you Giovanni, I hope it is true. My body is ready to be slayed by new Mariah music. The way she is shaping up (literally) it seems like she is gearing up for something big. She spent a good chunk of 2015 remedying her damaged reputation, re-establishing the fact that she can still sing and darn well, getting the public somewhat on her side and then came the body transformation where she time traveled back to early 2000s. I have a feeling the second emancipation is coming.

Travon, you can't play with my heart like that, it can only take so much. I have been dying to get new Mariah music. Your post is giving me hope. If it's not a problem, can you please give me a link to the interview where she hinted there might be a new album and also the rumor where they mentioned there will be an euro tour and new album? Not questioning you or your sources, I just need to get life from the article.

2006 in 2016 (59,067)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
| |
|
|
This photo is from tonight? Sorry girl. Bye. Like how can she look like she is aging backwards? She looks exactly like she did in the "Say Something" video here. She looks so 2006 here, I can't even. I would say 2005, but in 2006 she was thinner than 2005 and here she looks exactly like 2006. Also this dress is great. I love it. She looks confident. All those people screaming photoshop at her instagram pics should start eating their words now.

Another thought (59,056)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter

|

If Adele couldn't break Mariah's record even after the world went crazy for "Hello" and the industry's sweetheart Queen Bey couldn't get a #1 from her uber successful self-titled album, and industry's other sweetheart Taylor Swift couldn't get a long running #1 then really who can stand against Mariah? This woman basically is a music industry powerhouse and yet people try to make it seem like Mariah as a singer and writer has no impact or contribution to the industry. If maintaining the longest running single for over 20 years, having the #1 Christmas song every year (a 21 year old song) and having any new singer who can hit a high note being labelled "the next Mariah" (and no one else mind you, we hardly hear new singers being compared to anyone else) is the definition of an irrelevant career, then boy do I wish to have an irrelevant career.

One Sweet Day (59,054)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
| |
|
|
That record is so impressive, I can't even. I mean 4 months atop the hot 100, come on. It's surprising. I like OSD but it's definitely not one of my favorite MC songs, neither is it my top 5 #1's from MC. The song is sweet, and it gets me emotional sometimes, thinking about a lost loved one, but I have to say it didn't age well as her other songs. I don't even think it's a fan favorite. Of course Boyz II Men's popularity at that time contributed as much to the success as Mariah's. But still it surprises me that this song stayed on #1 for so long because even Whitney and Mariah (2 of the biggest singers) couldn't get close. It's been over 20 years and still no one touched its record. Anyways, just because the song isn't my favorite doesn't mean I don't have a panic attack every time a new song crosses the "10 weeks at #1" mark and I start getting anxious, not relaxing until someone comes to throw them out. Lol too mean? Sorry.

Re: Hallmark (59,036) (59,043)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter

I was hoping the Hallmark thing was a one-off deal where she fulfills her desire to make a cutesy Christmas movie and then over. I am not a big fan of the 3 movie deal idea but well I don't know the details. I wanted it to be a one-off deal because if Mariah continues starring in cheesy movies she will never be able to be taken seriously as an actress. I was hoping she would use her and James's contact to get in some big budget movies as an actress (in addition to getting a deal to have the main song of a big budget movie of course). If she really wants to take up acting (which she did), she should work with the right people. If she is not starring in the Hallmark movies and just working as a director, I would still ask her to reconsider it, because I don't want her to get chalked up as a cheesy low budget movie director. One step at a time Mimi. Conquer acting, directing can come later. You have a lot of time.

Justin (59,042)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
| |
|
|
So Bieber finally dethroned Adele with "Sorry". We can all relax now, OSD's record is still intact hahah. I thought "Love Yourself" will be his next #1 because it has been a while that "Sorry" was at #2 to Adele's #1 on hot 100, while "Love Yourself" took #1 spot from Adele on the iTunes chart. But I am glad "Sorry" reached #1 because I really enjoy that song. Congrats Justin and the lambily hahah (we love everybody but we love our records more).

Re: Wendy Williams (59,007) (59,011)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
| |
|
|
That's because Wendy's show is watched by a lot of people who will just go on to assume (since they are not all lambs) that what she is saying is true and that just adds to all the other things that has damaged Mariah's reputation. Plus she just basically dragged Mariah into a story which had absolutely nothing to do with her and then called her trashy and a drama queen who pretended to lay in the hospital with a sling to get public sympathy/attention. That is pure bull shit. Lastly we can't just assume Mariah doesn't get worked up over these too just because she doesn't talk publicly about it. Mariah is always aware of what tabloids say about her as we have seen in many interviews and she knows what Wendy says because once when she called in to Wendy's show, she mentioned how Wendy says a lot of bad things about her and yet she called into her radio show.

"It does bother me to see Mariah's random pics also. It's like I'm envious of her. I don't like her having fun with her kids or Stella's kids." Manny, I was never talking about her vacation pictures. I always said I enjoy the vacation and personal pictures and I was also one of the people who kept saying Mariah should up her Instagram game and post more about her glamorous life. What I have been complaining about are the pictures Stella picks up from Google from years back and her rain of hashtags.

That is exactly my point. I love getting random private pictures of Mariah. What I don't enjoy are the hazy random throwbacks and the awful hashtags. Also like you said, I have said it many times before, we don't even have to get her own pictures, just post pictures of where you are laying around or what you are eating. And hold back on the hashtags.

Re: Now I'm pissed (Wendy Williams foolishness) (58,994) (58,998)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter

This pissed me off so much. She had the nerve to say something along of the lines of "Janet you are better than that, you are music royalty" and I am like, while I agree Janet is a legend in her own right, Mariah is also music royalty. Wendy literally just said that Janet is music royalty while Mariah is trashy. I don't really expect much from her though because she even trashes her own celeb "friends" or people who are her friends in her mind. She takes digs at JLo and other people who appeared on her show even though she calls them her friends. Wendy has gone from being a talk show host reporting current news to someone who makes up stories in their head and passes it off as facts.
