About Edward from USA:

Mariah Carey lands six new RIAA certifications (103,282) by Edward from USA
Merry Christmas got two platinum certifications from 2019-2020 bumping it to an impressive 8x platinum. I guess Christmas will reach diamond status first than Mariah Carey which last certification was on December 1999.

It took Daydream 20 years to score another platinum certification.

New era? (103,252) by Edward from USA
The arrogance.

Let's keep on talking and debating Mariah's future career, this is not MariahDaily Messageboard.

While Mariah has had the very illustrious career most could only dream of, she's not 80, just a 54-year young woman. She has significantly slowed down in the last 10 years and nobody has gone crazy about it.

Robert-Anthony, make up your mind about all these British men. Remember that Gluttony is one of the seven deadly sins.

New song? (103,231) by Edward from USA
It's called "All to Myself". It's one of the Pepsi ringtones she made back when she got emancipated and changed her name to Mimi.

The Price Sisters and Melonie - underrated gems (103,214) by Edward from USA
It is perfection indeed. Even though I discovered "Everything Fades Away" years later since it wasn't part of the US version of Music Box, I've placed it at the end of "All I've Ever Wanted", but it always sounds out of place to me. It's a good thing it is now on "The Rarities". "All I've Ever Wanted" vocals are insane.

Nodules (103,200) by Edward from USA
One can only dream. Many artists have had their nodules treated surgically like Justin Timberlake, Sam Smith, Tove Lo, Adele, Björk, Shirley Manson, Keith Urban, John Mayer and Rod Stewart.

I was just about to post that. I don't see the reason for her to lie either. She was very nice about her journey with MC in one of her most recent interviews.

Perfection (103,186) by Edward from USA
There are going to be many virtual artists like Gorillaz, but I don't think real artists are going to disappear. While a great song is a great song for most casual listener, fans will always appreciate and look for the human connection. AI is going to be incorporated in everything, we're going to have to deal with it with laws and regulations.

I had forgotten about "There for Me". We also need "All In Your Mind" vault version. I'll never understand how great quality songs like "One Night" and "Right Here on My Own" were kept hidden for so long.

Perfection (103,182) by Edward from USA
The genie is out and the bottle has been destroyed. Disruption has started. The tweaking artists do in the studio is already being done with AI. Artist will eventually end up licensing their voices too and we'll have AI albums from current and deceased artists. The music scene, as we know it, is about to change drastically.

Perfection (103,181) by Edward from USA
I agree, but Mariah AI "Last Chance" is different. Most Mariah's AI content doesn't sound like her because they need a base voice and then replaces it with her voice. The problem is that AI will still use the base voice style, enunciation,, diction and accent. "Last Chance" was written and produced by Mariah, the whistles at the beginning were originally sung by her. On top of that, the base voice is singing it as Mariah would, so when the voices are switched, it works perfectly. I haven't been impressed with any other Mariah AI covers, but "Last Chance" is perfect for me. I dropped "Closed My Eyes" and "Save the Horrible Day" from "The Rarities" and inserted "Last Chance", "Help Me Make It", "Randy's Theme" and Almost Home", in chronological order of course. Now "The Rarities" is just perfect.

Perfection (103,170) by Edward from USA
I've always thought Mariah had written "All Cried Out", but it turns out she didn't. It's a remake from the 80's. I'm stunned.

There's a possibility Mariah actually remade "All Cried Out" for herself, shelved it and later produced it for Allure. A demo wouldn't make sense now since the original singer sings it in the same key and could be used as a reference. If Mariah didn't remake for one of her a projects, the chances that there's a demo out there are very slim.

This is the best AI Mariah's voice cover so far. It helps that it is sung in her style. Just made my own Mp3 just in case they take it down. It's simply amazing. We need The Rarities 2 right now.

Were I Mariah's manager (103,134) by Edward from USA
4 years, 8 months and 19 days to be exact. Basically 5 years. I think Mariah has the theme album and the "Someone's Ugly Daughter" album ready. It seems to be she's having a tough time finding a label willing to invest given the fact that she doesn't sell much anymore.

Did you just have an epiphany? Of course most of us guys here at MCArchives are not gay. The fact that 99 percent of her male fans love rainbow t-shirts, butterfly hair ornaments and some use MC perfume is pure coincidence. To avoid stereotypes I just use pink three times a week, but keep my MC nail polish collection hidden.

Mariah's version (103,104) by Edward from USA
When she was defrosting leading up to last Christmas, she had ample time to be ready for decent performances during the first few shows, but we saw how unprepared she was. How many wake up calls does she need? The gay pride performance was painful to watch. It seems to be she doesn't really care anymore, which is perfectly fine. I don't see anything wrong with her enjoying the time with her family and retire with dignity. I just don't want her to keep embarrassing herself during these random performances. While the "yass queen" fans love it when she embarrass herself like that, I, instead, feel bad for her and her impressive catalog. She needs real friends who don't lie to her to keep a paycheck coming.

Had she sung it live, it would've been fine with me The fact that was the best she could do in the studio, It's very telling. I hadn't ever watched it before you mentioned it. I wish I hadn't.

Mariah's version (103,094) by Edward from USA
Robert, I don't know if you have noticed, but Mariah is struggling even in her whisper register. I know her whisper register is not an easy one to tackle, but she's been struggling in all the facets of her voice. When you see an artist dodging notes, relying heavily on their backup singers, pre-recorded tracks, and expecting the audience to sing for them those notes they can't, it is a signal that something is deeply wrong. She's had an amazing career and she'll always have Christmas, but the Mariah we knew, yes, that Mariah post prime, is also gone. I've always thought she could get better should she discipline herself and put in the work, but that's up to her. I'm looking forward to Christmas now. She's the queen. Hopefully next year she'll surprise us all.
