Walk of Fame (55,721) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Just finished watching the live stream. Mariah looked great, the dress wasn't my favorite but I can live with it. I loved the speeches that were given and how they were personal and gave anecdotes instead of a formal speech. Mariah is going to be on Empire this season. Lee confirmed it during his speech. I almost choked laughing hard at Roc randomly running in from no where (multiple times may I add) and basically rolling around on top of Mariah. Mess haha. But oh well, overall the ceremony was cute, Mariah looked great, I'll go now look for official photos. (Wednesday 5 August 2015; 21:30)

I'm like what is happening, is Mariah trolling us because her fans are mean to her, or were they just partying and playing random songs. Because really I don't see the point of an "Infinity" remix. Stella, lol you are right, they do seem out of it and when Mariah came out with that huge shell I was like wait what did I just see? Marissa, there is a video in the works. Infinity remix, why dahlin' why? (55,703) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter So these instagram videos have me worried. We can clearly hear "infinity" being played while Mariah and French are fooling around. I really hope she was just playing it for no reason and that it's not the song they are working on. This is the video. There is another video of them fooling around too and that's French rapping and we can hear MC's voice singing on the track. (Wednesday 5 August 2015; 13:42)

B (55,687) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Finally someone is excited about the song. Ugh I thought I was the only one looking forward to it. I see the Beliebers are really rooting for this collaboration. The lambs not so much. I think this would be a great exposure for Mariah too, since like you mentioned that he has a huge fan base who adores him. Justin has many times mentioned Mariah as an artist he respects and listens to. I hope he actually has a verse in the song or at least the chorus and that he is not just doing background vocals. I am not a fan of French, but I am open to new surprising collaborations as long as the song is good. (Wednesday 5 August 2015; 0:04)

I want them legs out in the open. I'd like die out of happiness if Mariah decides to wear a pant suit. It will be formal, classy and sexy. She can wear a low cut blouse underneath. A sexy black or deep navy pant suit with a silky blouse. Other options I'd like her flowing knee length dresses. This is probably the first and last time we will see Mariah sit on the pavement so we gotta have them pictures dahlin'. (Tuesday 4 August 2015; 22:43)

Eminem (55,672) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter I don't think Eminem ruined her. If anything "Obsessed" got Mariah a lot of new fans. Teenagers and all who thought the song was cool. She got more street cred with that song and people thought that she was cool to come up with such a flawless diss. When Mariah used the line from "Mean Girls", that line became a household line. People used it and back and forth and even now it's still used and Mariah is credited not the movie. Mariah's fandom has been getting smaller ever since she ditched what people call her "classic" sound and moved towards R&B. Some of her older listeners slowly left her. I don't think it has anything to do with Eminem. Obsessed cracked top 10. It went to #7 and would have climbed even above that because it was truly a catchy pop song. What ruined Mariah was one bad decision after another with her release strategies until a point came where everyone just thought that it's too late now. She jumped back up with #Beautiful but yet again due to unfortunate events it died. This is not a shade at Mandy, this is just my opinion. (Tuesday 4 August 2015; 21:40)

Fashion post (55,664) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Mariah actually looked great in the jeans-black tank top-cream cardigan thing she wore just 2-3 days back. Although I could do without the cardigan but she looked great nevertheless. She also looked great in the gray tank top and jeans she wore to the beach the other day. But that silver shiny top she wore 2 days back was bad. I am with B, Licia and Marissa about how Mariah's fashion choices are what's mainly wrong. Ditch the long gowns. Go for knee length dresses, jeans-tee combos and less of the boobs. We have established that the boobs are nice and shapely, now they can rest covered in expensive material. I'd give more fashion advice to Mariah but then "one of us has got to pick the phone up" and/or Edward is going to fashion-post shame me again. Haha joking. (Tuesday 4 August 2015; 11:58)

Marissa (55,662) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Thanks. I too had at one point this year put behind the hope of another hit so I get where you are at right now. We have all been through multiple hypes of the next #1 only to be frustrated with the roll out and messy unsure plans. But I do believe, (as I'm sure you do too) that Mariah still can get hits if she really tries. Honestly if a song like JLo's "Booty" can crack top 20, and Britney's "Pretty Girls" can hit top 30, don't you think YME and "Infinity" could have charted higher if they were given more exposure? WBT would not have been such a big hit no matter how beautiful and brilliant the song is had it not gotten the exposure that it got in 2005. And to think that it was 10 years back when people still bought music and people were rooting for a comeback and now its 2015 when current artists are struggling and people have small attention spans, it is absolutely essential for the promo to be on point or else it's difficult to chart. Plus the song needs to be refreshing and the video needs to be good for it to manage to climb into the top 10. With her current team, she may be able to achieve that, but the planning needs to be done well. Let's not have a major roll out for an album cover and then wait for a month after the song to release the video. (Tuesday 4 August 2015; 10:51)

Haha I think we already went on a rant session about the re-release of the original Christmas album a while back. I am still not into re-release because it already got re-released a couple of times and secondly it's clear that this album is the last album that the GP needs to be reminded of because if one Mariah album consistently sells for sure every year, it's the Christmas album. L.A. is living in the past. I can't deal with this man. (Tuesday 4 August 2015; 9:26)

Dear Mariah (55,651) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter I've said this before but I'll just say this again in the hopes that if Mariah's team reads this board, they will take this into consideration. Please don't jump into another era until you are sure that you can give it your all and by "your all" I don't mean that just the writing and singing but what comes before and after the making of the album too. The last few eras have been really messy and we can trace it back to 2009-10 with the "will she, will she not" release the remix album for Memoirs. Two remix videos released but not pushed. Bad single/video choices. We can even go back and say that the decline started from post TMB 2008 when Mariah eloped, but I'll leave that out since she did start trying again from the initial stages of Memoirs. Things went bad after L.A quickly left behind "Obsessed" instead of pushing it more. Since then (with the exception of MCIIY) we had one bad era after another. Each era getting the fans excited with hopes of the next chart topper only to leave them frustrated with delays, absurdly bad single choices (it's like they intentionally are leaving out singles the public are demanding) and extremely bad album/single roll out and promo plans. I won't even get into the disastrous videos. With 2015 we again went crazy with hope for "Infinity" which was apparently going to be the next WBT (not musically but success wise) at least that's what everyone thought when the hint was dropped with the two song titles side by side. But then we ended up with a bad roll out and a video that came over a month after the song and a song which although is good, it was never #1 material. Anyways, I just want to say other than "infinity" Mariah's new team has proven to be very competent and great at turning her image around so I hope she takes advantage of it. I just want to say please, please, please have all your ducks in a row before you announce your next project. If you need time, take it, but continuously taking up projects and dropping them when they don't succeed is going to only cause more harm. Just to clarify, Vegas is not in my list of projects that has gone wrong. I think Vegas did her a lot of good and improved her voice and confidence. I am writing this plea as a fan who loves you and adores you and wishes to see you back on the top of the charts where you belong. I need you to shut people up one more time. I need the Mariah who said "if they counted me out, they'll just have to count me back in". (Tuesday 4 August 2015; 0:17)

I am even fine if the remix turns out to be French's track on which she is featured (since we were semi ready to wait for new music). As long as it's a new song, I'm fine with it. But still no more Christmas stuff (for me). I think having 2 successful Christmas albums with possibly the most famous modern classic of a Christmas song and earning (rightfully) the title of the queen of Christmas is enough to last for a lifetime. B Scott replied with "Remix". Please Lord let this be the remix of a new track which MC has already recorded. In that case I'd be happy that she is getting everything ready at once. And please let it not be an attempt to revive "infinity" with a remix, it won't happen. Just let it die, with no goodbye, Detail (the producer) now matters, we both paid the price (ok the last line didn't go but whatever). Anyways, I also hope this is not the umpteenth remix of AIWFCIY or "Oh Santa". Please Lord, new song. (Monday 3 August 2015; 11:13)

Music videos (55,635) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Nowadays a music video is almost as important as the song itself. I think a lot of the bad songs do good on charts because the video goes viral and the streaming counts. I hope when M makes her next video, she takes note from her iconic videos and do something either big and fun (we all know she has a great sense of humor) like "Heartbreaker", "Honey" and "Touch My Body", or have a continuing story line like ILT and WBT combo. (Honey and HB also had a good storyline.) Or go artsy and simple yet sultry like "My All" where she can be sexy but not awkward like YME. No more videos like "Infinity" where there is no proper storyline (she looks gorgeous though but that's not enough for people to stream) and a waste of a potentially hilarious segment (with the 3 suitors). I think the key to avoid the awkward glamor shots and Mariah's favorite "touching the body" moves is to keep her busy in the shots with a storyline. Because in ILT/WBT there is a great balance between the "touching" and the story/choreography. YME is so heavy on the touching, there is basically no story, which is also sad because the location of that video was hot tamale. That video could have been a "My All" 2.0 had they laid down a storyline to go with the gorgeous locations and Mariah's gorgeousness in general. Another TMB like video would go viral because it's funny and sexy. Also I demand the return of Agent M. Get her a darn new mission so that we can get another iconic moment. Future (55,628) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter I was really happy to see Mariah working in the studio. I honestly was sad because I thought that maybe we won't get to hear anything new for like at least a year (if not two) from now. Because from Mariah's end she really didn't need to push herself to make a new CD. She could have just gone off to Australia and enjoyed life and taken her time to record. So I am happy that she is dedicated enough to not leave her fans hanging. I am not a fan of French, but I am still open to the collaboration. Plus I like Justin and if he actually decided to record on spot after hearing the song, it must be really that good, because he doesn't really need to do it. He has his own album coming, he has millions of fans and he recently had a big hit with Diplo. So the song must be good for him to jump in it voluntarily. Most importantly I am really happy that Mariah is probably not jumping into the direction L.A. Reid wanted her to go, because really she still has a lot to give in the form of original songs, she can do L.A. 's ideas later. If she is indeed making an album (or an EP) I am excited. If she is open to more collaborations, I'd like one with Beyonce, Bruno, Robin Thicke, Kanye, Gaga, Michael/Janet. Or just go ahead and surprise me, I don't care, I just want new MC music. How do you even know that it'll be anything like "Bitch I'm Madonna"? Also people have different opinions about who can sing and who can't, yours is not the ultimate truth. RaeRae / Marissa (55,591) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter I too have wondered what has become of RaeRae. She has been around MC like since forever and now suddenly since this year she hasn't been seen with her even worse. I don't know about Stella taking RaeRae's place, but Stella has really turned Mariah's image around and for that I'm really happy that people are now hating on Mariah less. Her image had taken such a downward spiral, I thought it'd be difficult to get it back but Stella managed to do it within a few months and not just that, she has gotten Mariah all over the news (which unfortunately over exposed her love life) but still at least she has so many projects lined up including surprises. After a series of bad managements, Stella and the Chamber's Group has finally gotten Mariah on track and the attention that she deserves as a legend. RaeRae on the other hand only brought hideous choreography in Mariah's shows. She limited Mariah only to the same 3 moves for every song. Anyways, I think someone mentioned earlier on that RaeRae is probably spending time with her daughter who is grown up now. But still no picture at all is a little weird. But oh well. The hate for Justin Bieber (55,578) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter I get why a lot of people hate Justin. Some are turned off my the constant stories about him being a douche, the others only relate his name to his most well known (or as Justin says "the song with the most dislikes on Youtube") song "Baby", which was a childish song but the kid was just 14, what do you expect? Haha. But anyways I did hear a lot of his songs from his recent albums or collaborations and I can say that he has matured as an artist. His voice is no longer screechy and the sound of his music has matured too. Plus he has a good singing voice. Even Mariah thinks so. Because she said that he had to sing on a difficult key for AIWFCIY and he got it done. Yes that song is definitely not his best moment. But he does acoustic versions of his albums and there one can clearly hear he has a really good voice. Now if we compare him to Mariah, he'll fall flat, but I think it's unfair to compare everyone to Mariah (after all she is labelled the songbird supreme for a reason and if everyone could sing like her, then really what's the point?). So yes, just saying that he maybe a douche bag in some cases, but he is certainly a good singer. Plus everyone can relax, he won't probably have a big role in the song. It was supposed to be a MC-French collaboration, Justin just came over unexpected, MC played the song for him and he liked it a lot so he went in and put down some vocals for it. JB is in the photo with Mariah and she tagged him but he is not tagged by Stella or French Montana or DJ Suss One. Neither did he upload that picture on his instagram but everyone else did. So did he just randomly walk into the studio while they were recording or what? Come on now, take Bieber along, his matured voice is quite sexy. What's weirder is that Stella tagged Tamar Braxton and wrote "#disneymagic" and how she doesn't want to grow up. Someone help me connect the dots. Also I love the denim on denim Mariah is wearing here. I love "CasualRiah". (Friday 31 July 2015; 15:22)

Lack of movement (55,567) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Mariah was never a dancer but what made up for the lack of dancing was that she used to run on stage and move around a lot so one could really feel the emotions she was trying to portray through the song (example Grammy 2005, one out of many). I agree that nowadays sometimes she is very careful. With the exception of the Jamaican concert (where she did the sexy impromptu rock star moves), she usually seems to stand really still during her performances. While that is fine for songs like "Hero" and "VOL", for the more uptempo and mid tempo numbers, I wish she'd move more. I understand her possible fear of falling though, starting with the fall in Singapore when she was pregnant, then the life changing one she had in 2013 and all. But I think she should just switch to better shoes, maybe wedges and all for performances, which are safe and more comfortable. Plus they make cute wedged sandals nowadays so that shouldn't be a problem. Or she can go down Beacon route and just take of the sandals (mid way through a song, not missing a beat) and run through the stage like her life depends on it. This was another fall by the way, she tripped down the stairs but the diva that she is, she makes it look graceful. Notice how she didn't even stop singing when she tripped in this video. I don't mind Bieber (I like his singing voice so hate me, don't care), but what on earth is French Montana doing with Mariah. Ugh I don't like French but if this means that we are getting more Mariah music soon then I'll accept French too. But seriously what is going on? Is this Justin's new single? The one that is supposed to come out in 29 days? Which is supposed to be a "uptempo, fell good, uplifting, summer song"? Or is this a new Mariah single? Mariah mama talk to me. MC (55,535) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Mariah was at the Hallmark red carpet talking about a Christmas movie that she will supposedly direct and star in. Not sure if it's the same movie as the RatPac one since she said she won't star in the RatPac one and that she is going to be an executive producer, not director. Anyways, I just saw the pictures and wow she is serving simultaneous Rainbow and E=MC2 era beauty. She seems to have lost weight too since she looks thinner both from the frontal shot and also from the side shot. The shot from the front is serious Rainbow/E=MC2 era vibe. Mariah just looks so much younger when she wears short dresses and shows some legs. But please none of that Chanteuse tour champagne 2 piece which exposed her undies but more of the length that's just above her knees. I hope she puts away the longs gowns for a while. Official release (55,523) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter I really hope Mariah is recording the Vegas shows and release the whole show on DVD or whatever. The set is so elaborate and this is the first time she is singing all her #1's at one go so it's epic. I also think that if these low quality phone videos sound so good, one can only imagine how great she must sound live and recorded in professional recordings. I think the phone videos don't really capture the entire greatness that is her voice, so I need them professional video MC. Plus I wonder what happened to the documentary.
