Re: Not Mystical now (101,161) (101,164) by MusicfanJ from Germany In the 90ies I started to listen to R. Kelly because of "I believe I can fly" like so many did. But since I know what an evil man he is, I can't listen to his songs any more. When he started to look like a "gangsta rapper" around 2000 with the explicit lyrics many thought he's no good, but that in reality he's such a monster is for me a reason I can't stand his music anymore. Plus his singing quality was indeed overrated. I prefer the good old Teddy Pendergrass. With Mystikal I never owned music from him. "Don't stop" is a cool, fun song. But yes without him the song would be even better. Only Mariah would be a dream. The same with "Last night a DJ saved my life". Fabulous' part was good but with Busta Rhymes it was a bit too much for my taste. (Thursday 8 September 2022; 11:54)

"Unbreak my heart" was a big hit in Germany, it was played everyday with the video. The same with "Spanish Guitar". How I miss real music like that. (Tuesday 6 September 2022; 12:29)

RRe: The Ballads compilation (101,131) (101,133) by MusicfanJ from Germany It's the only album from MC which I don't have in my collection. Maybe I should change that. I love all her ballads, but the tracklist was a bit disappointing for a fan. For non-fans or casual Mariah listeners it's a good compilation. (Saturday 3 September 2022; 15:27)

But I fear Mariah isn't ready to leave the "fresh RnB sound" behind. Unplugged or a duet album or with covers would be great. That would be a big surprise. Maybe one day, I hope so. I always changed the radio station when the song was played. And it was played a lot. Lol. But then the next song was "Fantasy", "ABMB" , "Open Arms" or "One Sweet Day" and everything was fine. Well, it is just a matter of taste. Isn't it? But my vote goes to "Daydream". (Thursday 25 August 2022; 19:36)

Yes, there was a good competion back then, but we are talking about "Daydream". For "Fantasy" alone there should have been the award. It was Mariah's year musically, she was 24/7 on MTV, on the radio stations around the world. And then there was "One sweet day". It was Mariah mania, maybe this is one reason why they didn't get her one Grammy. Plus that her husband at that time was the boss of Sony. Pure envy. Mariah and Luis duet (101,010) by MusicfanJ from Germany I really would like to know how this hidden duet with Luis Miguel sounds. Didn't she say that their voices didn't match well together? Fame and money is one thing, but I prefer the Mariah who's love for music and artistry is stronger than for money. To "milk the cow called Christmas" gets boring. Why not make new music with real musicians and a band? If even Lady Gaga could do a Jazz album why not MC? Or something new, but please no more Christmas albums. 5 albums/editions with Christmas (The Star soundtrack and animated movie included) are enough. (Sunday 21 August 2022; 12:19)

Only Mariah (100,978) by MusicfanJ from Germany Hi MCA fellows, I hope you are all doing well. I really had some tough weeks. Everything was too much and I can't stand the heatwave. Anyway it's always the same. I love many artists but only Mariah can heal and give peace to the soul (and ears lol). Corny but true. You know it. I started to listen to "I'll be there", the whole Daydream album plus "Hero" and Anytime you need a friend" live at Tokyo. Every time I'm blown away, only Mariah. (Monday 15 August 2022; 10:42)

Trey Lorenz (100,974) by MusicfanJ from Germany I just discovered his debut album. I own the Mr. Mista album but somehow I never thought about his debut. I think it's amazing how Mariah is giving her background vocals on "Just to be close to you" and "Always in love". (By AIL I get a little "Everything fades way" vibe at the end, heavenly.) How I miss real RNB music with class, pure and from the heart. Trey Lorenz and Mariah were another dream team musically. (Sunday 14 August 2022; 19:37)

So true and that was too much even for her. It would be for every human. What she has reached and experienced before 30 is unbelievable. Only Elvis, The Beatles, Michael and Whitney have had "similar" experiences I guess. I never judge her, I just want her to be happy and healthy. Musically she has reached everything and beyond, but to know she is really happy and taking care of herself would be something I wish from my deepest heart. So many of the greatest were so sad. But a few can be superstars while still grounded and relaxed after all and enjoy it. I just hope that Mariah is happy. (Thursday 11 August 2022; 10:39)

I always enjoyed the music of the classy woman. (Physical still gets played very often on "my" radio station.) Olivia will be missed. Almost all the "good ones" are gone. So sad. Article about Honey (100,913) by MusicfanJ from Germany It's so true, it's really as sweet as it was 25 years later. It's one of her best up-tempos right after Fantasy. It still sounds so fresh, soulful. Mariah at her best. Plus one of the best videos ever. I just love the Bond girl idea. Honey is just phenomenal. Perfect sample, perfect remixes. I miss that Mariah. (Fun, independent and carefree.) Yes she was so young, I know. I will always remember when the song was played on the radio 97, after 3 seconds I knew it was Mariah with the new song. And the video was everywhere. Sweet memories of the late summer 97. (Saturday 6 August 2022; 14:29)
