Name calling is honestly his go to, and also making strong statements about the intelligence of the party he doesn't agree with to try and demean them and their opinions. Superiority complex is definitely his personality. You either agree with him or you will be called dumb and mentally challenged, no healthy debates in his book.

Didn't see that coming, I must admit. I noticed that he has strong opinions but so far, didn't see any name calling in terms of strong insults. Or I missed it. Anyhow, as Mimi L. said, we are all Mariah fans who think strongly about her but hate speech - a no no.

Wow speechless, but not surprised. We all are Mariah fans and sometimes we have strong feelings and we may not agree with each other and may even have strong debates, but it should never reach to the point of us calling each other names. When something like this happens, it just makes you feel like this isn't a safe space at all and that's why at times I just disappear for months at a time, but I do enjoy reading the other posters here and I am very grateful for Eric taking the time everyday to let us voice our opinions, that's why I'm always back.

Wendy Williams talking about Mariah (105,005)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter

Wendy has said multiple times she's a fan of Mariah as an artist. Yes she is shady towards Mariah's personal life but always maintains "Mariah can sing all the other artists under the table even on her worst day". But Wendy being Wendy love her gossip sessions about Mariah's personal life. As for Norman, he says he's a lamb but he always has the wrong info about Mariah, so I'm revoking his lamb card haha. Kidding.

Hey guys, I know Wendy is a Mariah "hater" but someone uploaded a full 5 hours of Wendy talking about Mariah on her show. Here is the link to part one. It covers many Mariah stories about Nick, the divorce, the Las Vegas show, etc. I wonder if Norman, a Wendy assistant who is a lamb, maybe lurks here on the board.

Kardashian vs. Stella (105,002)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
| |
|
|
How could I forget that. She basically put Mariah in a compromising position to have to out herself, even mentioned in her lawsuit that Mariah didn't take her meds. She came in and cleaned house to remove most people around Mariah including her long time bodyguard (who is now back) and Tanaka, and the rest were scared they'll be booted at any point. Stella nicknamed herself the Russian Dictator. Managers usually stay in the shadows, Stella would literally try to be on camera every time. She was a horrible manager and an enabler and I'm glad Mariah saw the light of the day. Yes Mariah is a grown up and has a brain but these celebrities live in a bubble and they depend on their teams to guide them, and we all know company can impact the way you behave. When you're surrounded by this leech family you don't really see what damage they're causing. Didn't Patti warn Mariah about Stella at one point? That's probably when she saw the light.

Add to the fact Stella wanted to out Mariah's bipolar condition. Pretty trashy thing to do. Thankfully MC beat her to it and explained things on her own terms.

Yup no one negotiates like Kris Jenner. I have a feeling Mariah may be part of a SKIMS campaign. They had many high profile collaborations like Fendi, Cardi B, Lana Del Rey, Brooke Shields, the White Lotus girls, Heidi Klum, Candace Swanepoel, Swarovski and a lot more. Not sure if it would contradict with her Victoria's Secret partnership but SKIMs is mostly shapewear vs Victoria's being lingerie.

Kris Jenner is managing Kanye West and Travis Scott. She doesn't need to accompany the rappers anywhere. She does their day to day managing on her phone and laptop. She could do wonders for MC's career. Kris Jenner in her mama Kris voice would tell Mariah, "Mimi this is what we should do." "Here's the negative side of that if we do it."

Kardashian vs. Stella (104,994)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
| |
|
|
Some people just argue to argue (and for attention). If Stella did such a wonderful job with Mariah's career why didn't any other A list celebrity hire her? She had no big celeb client (except for TI for his reality show) before or after. This woman also stole from Mariah, isolated her by surrounding her with only her family members (she's running her business, her cousin is running her accounts, her daughter running social media), got her on a tacky (visibly scripted) reality series (I know most are scripted but not this obvious), had Mariah publicly and in the show, be seen high as a kite and going into pot scores (she may do all these in private but I've never seen her openly talk about it as she wants to maintain a Mary Poppin's image). Later when she was kicked out she accused her of sexual assault. Yet here we are, our supposed only lamb in the world with the big brains thinks Stella was the best thing that happened to Mariah.

Kardashian vs. Stella (104,993)
by Matty from Vancouver Canada
| |

I'm sorry, if you think the Kardashian are in the same sphere or level as Stella, you're taking too many hallucinations. It's Vogue (Kardashians) vs. National Enquirer (Stella). It's that simple, despite how you saw the Kardashians 10 years ago with their original faces and bodies. Time and opinions have marched on past from how they began. I'm not understanding how people can compare.

Will we see a new album this year? (104,984)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
| |
|
|
What are your thoughts on if Mariah is actually going to drop an album this year? I read a lot of mixed reactions where some people are convinced she is definitely dropping something while others feel like we won't see anything anytime soon. I know some people are hopeful for Mariah's version of "Someone's Ugly Daughter" or the jazz album she has been mentioning. To be honest I don't care much for either of the above, although if she does release it I'll be happy for the lambs that already wanted it. But personally I would love new more mainstream music from Mariah. She's also been looking absolutely stunning and we know Mariah feels most confident with public appearances and performances when she is feeling her best. So I hope we hear something soon. I would also be interested in The Butterfly Lounge documentary but at this point I think she dropped it. I would love for her to document her next album drop where we see her as a songwriter and what goes behind the scenes of recording an album, the videos etc and release it over on streaming along with the album release.

Insta/Tiktok presence (104,972)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
| |
|
|
Speaking of Mariah's more polished social media presence, I absolutely love how she's started hopping onto viral trends, like when her songs are going viral and she's hopping on the trend, and also the recent post of "I'm Mariah Carey, of course I ...". The last video could have been a little better and she could have compiled a few diva rumor stuff about her and made fun of it but at least she knows what's trending. Social Media will be huge when she finally releases her new album.

I suspect Mariah and Kris Jenner are in cahoots together. I think she is being managed or in some type of business dealings with Kris which is why she's been featured frequently with the daughters. Despite many people's personal feelings about the K-family, there's no denying that they are A-list. Globally, this family is like teflon - no scandals stick, they don't bad mouth one another to where it hurts their imaging, and they are resilient. Kris is an excellent manager who is responsible for creating and exceling each of the woman's brands. I suspect she's doing business with Mariah because Mariah's social media has been flawless lately and it's clear MC is being marketed in a more modern, current way. She's relevant again. And I believe Mariah likes being on top. She's no dummy. Her dates with Kim are no coincidence. Mariah is competing to be relevant again and it's smart to be in bed with the Kardasians.

So, popular trash is good but unpopular trash is bad? What a ghastly, sinister view of the show-business. You can labour on (which doesn't seem to be a struggle for you) and vociferate all you like about the star-power of the Kardashians. But accept it as an axiom that anyone with a braincell, a quantum of class, and a modicum of respect for Mariah's career, would wish that she stay far away from anything Kardashian.
Everyone else lacking a braincell can follow the example of somebody else who posts here whilst also hiding their real name, photo and location: have an opinion - just as long as it's the same as Mariah's opinion - and don't dare question her. What a blissful life it must be.
Mariah Carey needs to return to a level of sophistication that the Kardashians do not represent. I would rather her retire than stoop to conquer.
There's no "K" in "class".

You have to know there are different tiers of reality shows. Stella was through and through trash. Her content was cheap, and she had dragged Mariah's image down. You can't expect someone like Stella to land Mariah on covers of elite magazine or get elite brand deals. If the Kardashians were still considered trashy how are they on the A list to everything? How many other reality show stars get that level of fame? And maintain relevance close to almost two decades. Other than Mariah what is Stella's claim to fame? It's about the "money", it's about the connections/ power and what they do with it. Kim's everywhere, she's getting invited on freaking American Horror Story which has some of the best cast, same for SNL. Dolce and Gabbana created a whole line with Kim, something they have never done before. As hard as it to accept Kim K has left her C list image and climbed all the way up. She isn't on the Jersey Shore or Love Island type of reality star list. Stella is a C list reality star manager at best and that's what she'll always be. She had no business managing Mariah's affairs, not to mention being in charge of her music part of the business.

As annoyed as I am with this friendship or whatever this is, I just hope they will not pull her down towards their cheap and tacky little world. Kardashian Konnection (104,958)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
| |
|
|
I understand, it's a very divided topic with 2 extremes. My point is the world of Hollywood and fashion has changed gears and accepted them because of how they changed their image over the years. Anna Wintour, who is so particular about who she features on Vogue and the Met Gala, now frequently collaborates with them, they are the faces of so many major brands like D&G, Balmain etc. They have been featured on Forbes and TIME. Not many reality star get to that level. So clearly they know how to pull strings.

For me the Kardashions will always be cheap no matter how much money they have and how many "business" speeches they are giving. I can't stand them. The same with J.Lo. I hope they are only connected because of the kids. That's what I believe, but who knows. I'm waiting for that jazz album.

Speaking of Kardashian Konnection (intentional spelling change), I said this before and I'll say it again, Mariah has a decent music manager (didn't she leave with the RocNation manager?) but for her other publicity stuff Kris Jenner works magic. She literally turned a family with no real talent to a multi billion dollar empire, imagine what she can do with Mariah. Yes Kanye helped them get to the A list, but Mariah is already A+ list celeb, she just needs the proper exposure. Kardashians are no longer trashy with their content. They are very well curated and have done a lot of work to shift their image from reality stars to business moguls. Look at all the speaking events Kim does at Harvard , White House and so much more. They are also well connected. Mariah doesn't really need their connections because she has them either ways but what Kris can do is utilise those. Get her on the Met List, Vogue (how has she never had a Vogue cover), get her all the right interviews, curate her Instagram, brand deals and a lot more. The possibilities are endless and with Mariah trying new things (like finally accepting her nonexistent bad side) why not try the Kardashian effect. I know this is an unpopular opinion but here we are lol.

Robert you're honestly such a sweetheart and we can tell you only hope for the best for Mariah and same for me I really want her to shut everyone up again. Also I completely agree with what you said about single choices. E=MC2 roll out will forever haunt me. She was coming off the high off the most iconic album of the 2000s and had a banger like TMB (with a bomb video) only to then release "Bye Bye" and ISIL? When she had "Migrate" which not only charted with no promo, but was exactly the kind of music that was dominating the radio and clubs in 08, plus had T-Pain and he was huge during that era. Migrate would have been the older sister of "It's like that" - a feel good, this night is mine, I'm feeling myself kind of song. (In today's climate it would sound a bit dated but 08 it would be bomb.) Then "I'll be loving you long time" should have been a summer anthem with proper promo. Next she had "I'm that Chick" and "Side Effects" that could have been singles. I will forever wonder why LA Reid picked the other songs . Don't get me wrong Bye Bye is a good song I listen to it, it gets me emotional because I can relate it to losing my grandmom, but you've got an album full of bangers that are single worthy and you kill the momentum with Bye Bye. Jeez. They tried too hard to recreate the "fun record followed by a big ballad" approach of TEOM, instead they should have made it the year of Mariah where she dominated all seasons - TMB to start bring some heat to the winter months, Migrate to kick of Spring, IBLYLT with the Summer of Mariah takeover and then Side Effects for the fall. And maybe For the Record for Winter again? Maybe even Love Story. After that it's fair game, you want to close with Bye Bye go for it lol.

Maybe I am too much to suggest DeVon Frranklin for MC to date, but you have to admit there have been too many hiccups launching her albums since E=MC2. I just scratched my head everytime the wrong single was chosen or an album promotional plan was poorly executed. I want her back on top for MC16. I know deep down in my heart that MC is going to do MC, but I can't help suggest my plan for getting her back on top of the charts.

My two favorites haha. Love it or hate it, the Kardashians bring a lot of attention and when the new album drops we want all the attention. That being said I think DemKids are friends with Kim's kids so that's why they hang out. I think it's sweet that Mariah has a famous bestie just having fun. Usually she's just with her team or partner.

True, everyone needs a companion, but I hope she doesn't rush into a relationship just to have company. She needs time to heal. She has been with Tanaka for a very long time so she should take her time to just absorb everything and then see where her love life takes her. My only hope is Nick stays away lol. He has said in the past that he would never say never to reconciling with Mariah. I hope Mariah's next is a well establish person, someone who can match her stardom.

Do you think MC will ever date again? I worry about her being alone and not having someone in her life. DeVon Franklin would be the perfect man for MC since she has scaled back being this huge diva. He is a huge motivational speaker and he loves God. During the Christmas shows and in Aspen this December, I saw MC as a more mature woman just raising her children. Her diva persona seems to have fallen off her huge petsonality. Love has to be on her mind, though. She can't stay single forever. I hope that she starts dating again during the recording of MC16. My two cents during the start of several days of below freezing temperatures.

Women empowerment will always be important and I would love for Mariah to be championing it. I was thinking how in Caution era she could have released "A No No" (and remixes with actual well known female singers/rappers) and it could have been a big moment, also aligning with the #metoo movement. Instead we got Shawni.

Have you seen the video for Yes, And? It reminds me of Pat Benetar's Love Is A Battlefield video. J Lo's Can't Get Enough and Dua Lipa's Houdini videos are similar with a huge dance production and a women empowerment theme. Maybe this is the trend for 2024. I don't think MC has ever a huge dance production video. No, Honey and Heartbreaker don't count.

MC should make her first true R&B jazz adult contemporary album to reach masses again. I was thinking today she is going to have to release an album with a cohesive group of live musicians who can give her a new sound so she can improvise live. Improvisation is her strength that no one else can do quite like MC. Remember the mop the floor song during one of the Christmas shows. Also, I believe MC16 is going to be the album that is going to be the true follow-up to Butterfly. I felt cheated and disappointed with Rainbow and Charmbracelet being released after the brillant Butterfly album. I know that I am not the only one who felt cheated and disappointed in 1999 and 2002.

STN is also a skip for me. I love the beat of "Babydoll", I love the lyrics too. It paints a picture, you can visualise the lyrics, it's like a diary entry. And I think it fits perfectly into the "Butterfly". Babydoll also reminds me of "Crybaby". They are ofcourse very different songs but both seem like entries from the diary of Mariah's sleepless nights.

"Gowns, beautiful gowns" is all I have to say about JLo at this point. I was reading how she blatantly copied songs not just Mariah's she stole from Usher too. Then she basically passed of other singer's vocals in her demo as her own. Since I became a lamb I have a special respect for singers who are "artists" and songwriters and people who genuinely are passionate about their craft. JLo is definitely among those.

When it comes to music, Jennifer's always been like many other artists, a product. She can dance and somewhat act, but music is not one of her talents. She's accomplished whatever she has accomplished because of Selena. Had Selena been here with us today, Jennifer wouldn't be known. I've enjoyed her fist two albums and I actually like her. She sadly got caught up in Tommy's game.

JLo Hummingbird = Butterfly (104,907)

JLo has not had a single original idea since the day she came into the limelight. Her lack of artistry and vision and talent baffles me. I don't get her appeal. She blatantly copied Mariah in a lot of things. Her only call to fame is she's got a good stylist so she stays relevant for her fashion and her "JLo Glow".

Her album roll out is such a carbon copy of Butterfly it's uncanny. Now she's adopting a hummingbird motif on her album and in her vinyl and album covers posing the same way MC did with hair and lighting like the epic Butterfly cover. She definitely has been studying MC and is doing the most. Unfortunately all she could hope for is emulating the looks because her music is grating.

Missy Elliot (104,906)

I will not stand for the "Babydoll" slander. That song is amazing. (For clarification for some people's mind where I live rent free - no I don't want an album full of Babydoll but I 100% enjoy the the song till date). It was peak 90s R&B vibes.

Hmmm. Babydoll was a bit of snoozefest to be honest, with Mariah mumbling all the way through and the dated production. I'd rather she ditch the collabs and focus on constructing melodic, captivating songs like she did in the glory days.

No one said "she should make songs like Ribbon". I said I enjoy the song. Enjoying something doesn't mean I want an album full of a song she made 15 years ago. Maybe don't make assumptions when you're "calling out" people.

Lopez is as mundane as they come. But Mariah risks retaking the mundane crown should she listen to the lambs who are in favour of her working with The Dreary once more and releasing soporific songs like Ribbon. You have to worry about some people for they know not what they do. Or they simply haven't got a clue.
