#1's (49,250) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Correct me if I am wrong but I didn't hear Mariah say that she will be releasing another #1's compilation. What she said was that her Vegas residency set list was inspired by her #1's album and that this time around it will be the updated version including the additional #1 hits. I don't think she mentioned anywhere that she will be releasing the updated album. She did however retweet a tweet by a fan who wrote something like "can't wait for the concert and album". But that again doesn't confirm that the album is a #1 compilation album. So there is still a chance that after her residency ends mid 2015, she might release completely new material. Singing her most famous hits from her back catalogue for her residency is a good idea since people will be able to sing along. Anyways so basically I was just wondering where the whole #1's album discussion came from. Did I miss out on something? (Saturday 17 January 2015; 6:58)

Correction (49,227) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter The red dress was not from her last appearance on Ellen, I forgot about the episode where she was pregnant. I was referring to the one she wore in 2008. It was red and basically very similar to the one she is wearing on this episode. Both looked stunning on her. (Friday 16 January 2015; 10:18)

Mariah, she's on fire (49,226) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter MC looked so good on Ellen. Gorgeous, glamorous, confident and perfect. She really did look flawless. From the hair, makeup to the dress, everything was on point. I love how the dress is quite similar to the red version she wore on Ellen the last time she went there. MC looked half her age. The one with the hotel maid sketch was also perfection. I loved the hairstyle, something I haven't seen her do before and I loved how she was so playful and funny. This is why I love MC on Ellen. I think the best accessory MC had on was her gorgeous smile. In the past few months, I felt that eventhough she was smiling, it was not genuine because she was in a lot of pain. But she seems to have shaken it off. I am so happy for her. Oh and I loved how she said "ofcourse" when she was asked if she will party with Britney. (Friday 16 January 2015; 10:05)

Vegas and Mariah (49,213) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter While I was not really a fan of the idea of MC taking on Vegas at this point in her life, I will try and be supportive of her decision. I just hope that haters don't take this as her last stop before retiring. I was almost hoping for a completely new album on her 25th year and being selfish about wanting her to score a couple more number ones to get everyone in check, but ah well I see many lambs are happy with the decision so good for them. However why is MC still using her picture from 2008 E=MC2 shoot for profile pictures and on Ellen? Come on, she looks great now and if she is releasing an album, she should really not use old pictures. I need a new fabulous photoshoot. (Thursday 15 January 2015; 22:20)

The next move (48,943) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter I vote "No" for the ideas that she should go to Vegas or that she should re-release the first album or release new versions of the old song. Mariah already has two consecutive commercially flop albums under her name now (note: the albums are amazing, but they just didn't manage to sell). A third flop would ruin Mariah for good. She really needs to chalk out her A game right about now. Many will now say "oh I don't care about hits anymore blah blah" and that's your personal opinion, but to me, it's important that should Mariah retire, she should leave on a high note, with a massive hit. For that, she needs to come out of her comfort zone and work with the hottest producers now and really collaborate with some of the popular artists now. Not saying she should give up the classic Mariah touch, but it doesn't hurt to try out new things, and we know if anyone can do it, it's MC. She should shock people by collaborating with a current female artist, do amazing videos like she used to, and promote the single/album like it's no tomorrow. I would also really want Mariah to change up her style. She looks great in just about anything so why limit herself? She can pull off the "Jeans and Tee" look, do a cute skirt moment, slip into a pant suit and what not. Come on Mariah, it's time you show the people what a powerhouse you really are. Mariah needs a change? (48,537) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter While I do agree that Mariah needs a few changes here and there, like she needs to work on not being so late to her shows, she needs to actually show the world how intelligent and brilliant she is (because a lot of people just think she is ditzy), her drinking, and that she needs to get a better stylist, however I disagree with people who are trying to change almost everything about her. I do not mind her insisting on being photographed from one particular angle, she isn't the only one who does that, heck even I only take pictures from one side and I will move my friends in group photos to get my "good" side. I do not like how I look from the other side and I am sure many non-celebs do it. So to bash MC for it is silly. Ofcourse she would want to look her best and to top that off she already has enough haters who put unflattering pictures of her on the net and call her "fat", "ugly" and all those. Next comes the use of "dahlin'". I don't see the problem, it's like her signature style. I love it, it's something only she uses. It's like an MC trademark just like her butterfly rings. AI, Darryle (48,495) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter At first I thought the Minaj Carey fight was scripted but now I think maybe it was real or got real at some point. If the fight was scripted, they would have a scripted "making up" session. But it has been 2 years and still no reconciliation. I do agree that maybe it kind of makes MC look bad because while Nicki is on good terms with almost all female artists, MC has always stuck to collaborating mainly with only other male artists. The vocal drama (48,285) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter I am not bothered. This isn't anything new. When MC was giving some of the best vocal moments on her tour, all the media outlets, the gossipers, and that Wendell was quiet and didn't say anything. Not one article about how great she was sounding. But now that she missed a few notes here and there people are all up on her. We are back to the dramatic "MC can't sing anymore" headlines all over the place. What bothers me though is fans sometimes say that "oh I'll take a few bad notes but if I go to see her perform I want it to be completely live not mimed, even if its not perfect". So when she gives you that, you'll still attack her. and if she gives a mimed performance, people will hate her again. So really MC at this point can't do much. Her voice isn't what it used to be when she started. It's no use comparing her to other artists who have been in the business longer than her. Everyone's voice does not wear out the same way. Some will lose it faster than others. That being said, according to me, MC's voice is still intact. On any given day she can sing better with a cold than any of these so called singers at their peak vocal moment. A few bad performances shouldn't lead to us lambs ripping her. The media is already there for that. We lambs should know Mariah keeps coming back bigger and better. (Friday 5 December 2014; 15:56)

Taylor and Mimi (48,283) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Previously I had suggested Mariah should work with Beyonce. Now I think she should really work with Taylor. I had avoided listening to Taylor before because I used to hear all of her songs are about her nagging about past romances. But I recently got to hearing some of her songs and I enjoy it. What's even better is she is a songwriter and she has similar opinions like Mariah about this since she says that she wasn't going to be a singer, if she wasn't a songwriter as she was not going to sing anyone else's songs. This is something Mariah always says. So that's something common and Taylor is a pretty decent songwriter, they can come up with a good strong song. Hey maybe even about dissing out exes. MC and Taylor are both good at diss tracks. I would love to see these two collaborate. I think it'll be something new for Mariah too since she usually avoids collaborating with other female artists except for rappers. (Friday 5 December 2014; 15:46)

G.G. (48,101) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Your idea is perfect. I loved it. Both the suggestions were awesome and so different. Disney and other animated movies are really doing well right now and giving artists a lot of exposure like Pharell for Despicable Me. It could really give Mariah the platform to gather new fans and also show people how diversified she can be. I would love to see MC in a glamorous action role. There were rumors long time back that she was being considered as a bond girl and what not, I don't know if it is true, but yes, I would definitely be the first in line to watch MC in a big budget action flick. Matteo (47,963) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Hey there, welcome to the board. I just wanted to clear out the things Mariah whispers in the beginning of a couple of songs for you. Before Money starts, she says "I can't leave it like that", which I assume is referring to the fact that Money was a last minute addition to the album. Mariah already had an album ready, but at the end she added 4 new songs to the album. Money was probably the last to be recorded. So she probably means that she decided she couldn't leave the album like it was (when it was titled TAOLG) and so she added Money. Before Faded she just keeps writing and reading the first two lines of the song "It was overcast that day, I was feeling some kind of way". Before YME, she just says "You're mine", and it echoes. I hope that clears it up. I think when Mariah said she wants the album to be heard as a body of work, she meant that she wants the fans to go through the songs as a journey, which reflects her life in the past 4 years. Album (47,852) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter I really think MC might release a new album soon. Or atleast a re-release of MIAM with new songs, although I am not sure if that's the best idea at this point. If it was upto me, I'd have her release a completely new album and forget about MIAM. It's like when she was trying to revive Memoirs by releasing 2 remix albums, but finally decided to let it go. A new album with new tracks and hot re-sung remixes would be awesome. Mariah has never had problems writing songs that sound current yet classic Mariah, so I am not really worried about the writing/singing. What I wish she would focus on is marketing it right and really promoting it. Beyonce seems to be really trying to milk her album by now releasing a special edition box set. We haven't seen the end of Mariah, and with her improving vocals, we can expect her to promote her new songs by singing them live. (Saturday 8 November 2014; 13:50)

If so what image did the fold out poster have from the shoot? Also anyone knows whether the Island DefJam box set of Mariah contains the Platinum or regular Emancipation CD? Walter (47,802) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Lambs, seriously why are we all still on about the Walter dude? It's gone, let it go, They haven't worked together since 1997, why are you all suddenly missing him after like 17 years now? Yes they certainly made a lot of great music together, some of which are the songs most loved by her fans, but I seriously don't see why so many of you are desperate for her to get back with him? We don't know what went wrong and if Mariah doesn't want to work with him, she won't do it. If she chooses to work with him, that's her decision too. Even after Butterfly Mariah has continued to make amazing masterpieces and memorable songs. It's not like without Walter her songs have deteriorated. Infact I am happy that she is making songs she loves and I for one enjoy them. Don't get me wrong, I love the big ballads and all, but I absolutely adore Mariah's hip hop and R&B touches. Now people have different tastes and everyone has the right to talk about anything on this board, but this Walter thing is like going on for too long. Mariah is doing fine without him. Her music never failed to amaze me. She keeps upping her game with each album and each song. The kind of variety MC has given us, I doubt many other artists can claim that. Andrew (47,462) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Please spare us the sob story of members here hurting your feelings, you are the one who takes every opportunity to call people deluded and psychotic and how MC should retire and what not. Who gives you the right to say those? No on said you can't post negative reviews, many people including myself posted many negative reviews. But your reviews are always aggressive and insulting and it just seems like you hate everything about MC (and her fans) now. I am sure most will agree that even if your intentions are good (assuming you want the best for MC), your delivery, the way you write your messages is extremely mean and aggressive. Having strong opinions is one thing, but always coming off as a bully is a whole other thing. It's understandable that you might have complaints about how MC handled her career, but seriously nothing positive at all? You say she should record radio friendly songs, and I am sure she will have no problems in doing it but then there will be people saying she is following what's "current" and demand that she goes back to singing those big ballads she is famous for. Holding a career on for 25 years is not easy. The day you achieve that come here and rub it on our faces. It's easy to sit and judge. Don't for a second think that MC's recent lack of success bothers us more than it bothers her. LC (47,430) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter I am really excited if the news is true, I will try not to be disappointed if it turns out to be false. However if Mariah indeed decides to re-release she should definitely add a few new songs. She should get rid of the Memoirs remixes and instead add 4 new songs. I hope she does it right this time around and gives the album a lot of exposure. I think this album has a lot of potential because it has a song for everyone. The classic Mariah raw ballads (Cry, TAOLG) for the people who want 90s MC music, then there singles with a great chance to get her more hits and newer audiences (Thirsty and YDKWTD) and many more. Your point about the unseen videos playing in the background got me thinking. Because she never filmed new videos just for her tour, they usually just have writings or the real video playing. I will be so happy if she has a video for each song. MC should definitely go on every show and sing as well as give interviews. I was wondering what happened to the other music videos she filmed but never released. She shot a video for YDWTD and Thirsty (apparently for her drink) and she flew to Paris to shot these. After all the crap that Mariah has been getting lately, I think the woman deserves some good news and that would be in the form of MIAM getting the success it deserves. I know it maybe a farfetched dream but well one can hope. Before Mariah released MIAM I was thinking that maybe she will have videos or atleast lyrics videos for all the songs because she clearly said she will release the lyrics on her own terms. I always wondered whatever happened to the rumoured videos of Thirsty and YDKWTD and also the remix video of Beautiful. Because Mariah said that even while she was being rushed to the hospital she told Nick to finish the video and came back the next day to shoot the remaining parts. So why work so hard and not release the video? So I am really excited if there will be a re-release. My point wasn't her underwear being flashed, my point was the pictures posted were taken from unflattering angles which makes Mariah look bulkier than she is, and that will piss her off because 1) she is very specific about the side of her face she wants photographed and 2) I am sure she worked hard to lose the weight but these pictures are giving a wrong image and she looks bulky so everyone in the post is hating on it. From the videos she looks beautiful and glamorous, but the pictures are portraying her in the wrong way. And that is what I have been talking about. So before you go on about how many times you saw Mariah's knickers, maybe read the post properly first and try to get the point? (Monday 13 October 2014; 22:19)

MC will be pissed when she sees these. From the videos and all Mariah looks great and she has slimmed down but obviously if shot from an unflattering angle anyone would look different and these pictures are probably the worst of the lot. AIWFCIY (47,314) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Wow that video just made me smile with my teeth out like an idiot. I really got very happy after this. This is exactly what I wanted from Mariah. This is something I wrote about a while back on this board. That we all know along with Mariah herself that she is no dancer, but still even slight movements make the song come alive. What Mariah did in this video was perfect. She just went ahead and did whatever she wants and didn't bother with choreography. Everything looked natural and fun. I also loved how she hugged the mic and ran across the stage interacting with the backup dancers. She wasn't trying to be sexy she just looked like she was having fun and flirting around. She is moving around, dancing, flirting and what not. I love the little growling part where she yells "I will hunt you down". She looks much more confident. I hope the vocals keep getting better with each show. She can take notes from mistakes she is making and adjust them accordingly. Trust me, no one gets more frustrated with a bad vocal moment than Mariah herself. Her voice is her prized possession, her identity, and it would be silly of us to assume she isn't concerned. Even messages where you might criticize MC, you guys have been nice about it. I also wrote negative comments here and got into mini fights for saying negative things but I try to be respectful. So you guys don't really deserve the hate. However the recent posts are straight up aggressive. I can't believe her fans are hating on her so much to tell her to actually retire. In my last post I wrote that people should move on to other artists. This is something I used to hate hearing and never wanted to tell others but honestly if "lambs" are "mortified" and "embarrassed" and disgusted by Mariah then why waste time on her?
