About Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter:

Mariah (41,392) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Can we all just take a moment and bask in Mariah's beauty. I was going through the pics of her wearing the white gown and fur for the Empire State Building ceremony and she looked so flawless (nothing new there). Her makeup was gorgeous and I love that she's sporting the pink lips (she's usually more into peachy and nude tones). And her hair was on point. So glamorous. With all the Mileys getting naked on stage and JLos trying to be hood, Mariah is so effortlessly glamorously and yet "hood" at the same time when she wants to be. When I see Mariah performing with other rappers, she never comes across as a wannabe, which is something I don't think I can say for many other white singers (I know she is biracial) male or female. I am happy that I was born in an era where I got to experience the two greatest singers ever - the fabulous Miss Mariah Carey and the ridiculously talented king of pop, Mr Michael Jackson. If only they had a song together (and the all star songs don't count), a love ballad or a sexy duet. But I am still grateful that we'll see a lot more of MC.

I agree with you about the promotion route. Yes Mariah is really going out if her way to promote the song the best she can and I also was wondering why she isn't appearing on Ellen because she seems to love being on it and also it will get major attention on the song. Your idea about her appearing on Wendy is great, I heard Wendy talk about M many times and she had nothing but great things to say about her. She can also make an appearnace on Alan Carr's show for the UK fans. M has been doing her share of promotion, now she should step it up a notch and appear on some major talk shows.

Danny / Thirsty (41,375) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Yes Mariah mentioned in one of her radio interviews that she has a new song called Thirsty and she also mentioned the producer, I forgot the name though. I think she talked about it when people the interviewers were talking about Beyonce's Drunk In Love. What's funny is that when I heard her mention the name of the song, I also immediately thought about Migrate. Hopefully it will be an upbeat song like Migrate or maybe sultry like Drunk In Love. Another name that came to mind when she mentioned Thirsty was the song Crave that someone posted here months back and said it was for the Butterfly album but wasn't included as it was considered too sexual.

Nikki (41,374) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Please don't go around assuming that you are the only one who cracked the similarities between YME video and the original Little Mermaid and then call people dense and shallow. The fact that Mariah drew the ideas from the story is quite apparent. The whole costume discussion comes up because we all know Mariah isn't exactly known for her dancing skills and if she would have used an alternative way to hide her breasts at least she could move around the rainforest or at the very least move her hands more freely. The fact that the shots were beautiful and MC looking gorgeous isn't lost on anyone. If M as a little mermaid could find a piece of material to wear as a skirt, she could find one to cover her chest. You made your point, explaining something that probably some people didn't know, that's fine, but don't feel too free to call people out on their intelligence.

Yes, you were right about the second day interviews. It was way better and professional yet funny. That's the real Mariah we all know and love. So when people tried to say that the "rambling Mariah moment" was her usual routine, it's not the truth, this is why I referred back to 2005-2009 era when her interviews were funny, witty and professional. I am glad she took note and fixed herself up for the next round of interviews. I just get frustrated because I don't know about her, but I desperately want her to be back at #1, I hate how talentless people are mass producing what seems to be like the same song with different lyrics (yes I know they are not the same, dahlin') while people like Mariah who actually make real music are given the backseat. That doesn't sit well with me. Not the slightest bit.

Second day interviews (41,355) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Mariah seems to have gotten back to form for the interviews after that day, I just got to watch them today and she not only looks gorgeous (and dressed properly), she didn't stray away off topic and gave informative answers. All her interviews need to be like these. Like the BET 106 & Park moment, she was her usual funny self but she talked about the song as much as she could in that time frame. That's the MC we all want. It brought a smile to my face instead of a cringe.

Twitter pics (41,354) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Mariah looks so effortlessly sexy in those pics. She looks nothing close to 40 and can easily pass off as half that age. I was going through each and I was like wow, that's gorgeous.

Interviews (41,353) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
For people who claim Mariah is sick of answering the same questions, here are two points. Number 1. A celebrity of Mariah's level has the ability to instruct the interviewer (through her agent) about exactly what questions they can ask her and what they can't. If she can demand that her own camera angle expert will be standing next to the show's camera man to make sure that they don't film her from the wrong angle, you can be more than sure she has control over what questions she will be asked, so she definitely doesn't mind the questions. Number 2. These often asked questions are things that needs to be asked again and again because not everyone knows about her past/present. Suppose a non lamb tunes into a random show and M is there, he/she would need a little introduction, that's how new people become fan and/or get information. So every interviewer kinda has to ask these because suppose she answered something in Radio A, it's not necessary that everyone on the planet listened to it, so she has to say it in Radio B as well to get her message across to people. I watch Ellen, I don't watch Oprah, so if Oprah asked something which M answered I would not know it, as I don't watch the show. Simple as that. It's M's work, her job, she makes a living from it.

Directors (41,339) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Why isn't Mariah working with Brett Ratner, Paul Hunter or even Jake Nava, the directors responsible for her best videos to date (ITL, WBT, DFAU, Honey, Shake It Off, TMB, Get Your Number, Heartbreaker). These videos were super sexy yet classy and with great storylines. So where are they? I want Mariah to blow everyone's mind with her new album and videos. Someone needs to get me her number. I want to manage her, no offense to JD though, he is doing his best getting her a lot of face time.

The diva attitutude overload (41,338) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Some people are writing that M's recent behavior is playful and/or it's her breaking free of Sony forcing her to appear "more white", that's ridiculous. Mariah has always been classy (even after Sony), Sony just made wear more clothes. But look at her interviews from TEOM, E=MC2, even Memoirs era, these were well past Sony and she was funny, witty, professional and classy all at the same time. Like suppose her interviews with Ellen (where she seems most relaxed) during these eras, she had her diva attitude but it was toned down and it was actually funny and she kept things classy, joking but at the same time being professional. In the Alan Carr show, she was super poised, even though he kept joking (which is hist style so fine). She even directed him away from some inappropriate jokes nicely. MC never needed an Oprah interview to appear sincere. Neither did she need to sound robotic and not be playful during interviews (after Sony). She had a perfect balance of professionalism and humor (being funny but giving straight and informative answers about her work) well up to Memoirs, so please don't justify her recent behavior saying she has always been like this, go check out her interviews from the eras I mentioned. Someone also wrote MC knows work is a joke, that's crazy, if she thought that, she wouldn't be trying so hard to start off her album with a #1 hit and delaying the album each time a single didn't perform up to her standards. I love MC, but it's the truth.

Remix video (41,337) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
No, no, no. This remix video isn't working for me. One video of Mariah cradling her chest is more than enough, now we have two of the exact same videos with just a few more cut scenes of her underwater, and Trey singing, it doesn't change anything at all. What happened to the video that was playing behind her when she was performing at the BET awards? It looked classy and nice where she was dancing or had her hands around a man's neck and she was wearing white gloves and then there were shots of her on a black piano wearing all black. It was the same ensemble she had on in the pictures with Trey and JD. I will also just add again, why didn't Mariah just cover her chest with a shell bikini or glitter bikini or just wear a nude body suit with strategically placed glitters/stones to cover her modesty? She would have looked much more natural.

Martyn (41,314) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Yes that tracklist may be legit, although she might have dropped some songs, because we got to know through recent interviews that there are atleast 2 new song: "Dedication" and "Thirsty".

Ms Giselle / radio (41,227) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I have checked out a couple of her radio interviews promoting the song, and I am very disappointed. She keeps talking over the interviewer. I don't remember which one was it, but in one, the guy was like trying to praise her about how she carried herself in AI but MC kept cutting him off, saying God knows what, I mean completely meaningless random things, and then passing around chocolates and talking about splashes, the poor guy was like saying 7-8 times "no Mariah listen, you gotta listen" and she just didn't care. Many will be like that's her playful side, but it really isn't. It's senseless, she's wasting air time talking about all sorts of meaningless things, when what she should do is talk about the song, what inspired her, her album, things we can expect from it, her marriage and kids. She keeps dissing Nick every time. Arriving in a negligee? Really? I agree it wouldn't be fun to watch a robotic artist, but come on give straight answers, draw people into the conversation, instead of making them wanna switch their radios off. I don't know if she has a drinking problem (so I wouldn't comment on that) but she certainly has a problem of not being serious at all during interviews and that makes even the lambs want to turn off the interviews, so one can only imagine what non-lambs are saying about it.

The song and the video (41,207) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
So can I just say this again that I am in love with the song. It's so cute and mushy but deep at the same time. And the hook has been on my head all throughout the day. Ok now for the video, Mariah's makeup and hair was gorgeous. Simple yet oh-so-sexy. However, I wish for once she wouldn't sit throughout the whole video with one hand covering her chest, I mean I get it that she's a mermaid, but come on wear shell bikini or a glitter bikini MC. But ok I don't care, she looked great, the underwater shots were so beautiful. Her shots in the rainforest looked like a moving piece of art. And Trey looked so amazingly sexy. I was like come on it's a sin to be so hot.

Carlos / ZachMC / Mariah's video (41,173) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Carlos, well if you put it that way, you do have a point. I do agree with some of the things you have said. But hey the whole album is left, MC might still have the songs you are looking for, don't worry! ZachMC, the word eternal is repeated many times at the end according to some lyrics, although I didn't catch it, so I can't be sure at all. Lambs have you managed to catch some of the shots of MC's music video? The one in Puerto Rico, she looks so sexy and vulnerable at the same time. Gorgeous woman.

Carlos (41,163) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
With this message I am in no way trying to offend you or pick a fight or blindly praise MC (if you have read any of my previous posts, you'll see I had quite a few arguments on the messageboard because I criticized something of Mariah so I am definitely not a blind lamb), however if you want Mariah to hit #1, you cannot, in this amazingly bad era of music business (where only catchy songs, no matter how meaningless they are) tops charts, you have to accept that Mariah cannot sing songs she sang in 1990 and 2005 and manage to top charts. She needs to keep changing styles and stay ahead if she wants to stay relevant and she has managed to do it beautifully. With TAOLG a lot of people criticized it because it did not have a solid catchy hook and not being radio friendly. This song has a great hook and is cutesy. I understand everyone is entitled to their own opinions, so yes no hard feelings.

The new single (41,160) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
So my mom hates MC because I look upto her more than I do to my mom lol, so she's always like saying "this song isn't good, why does she need to scream everytime" and all those, but even she liked the song (yes I did force her to listen and she was unconsciously swaying her head), and at the end she was like this is much better than the last few songs she released. I am in love with the song, the hook like everyone is describing it as, is hypnotic and the best part for me, followed by the uplifting chorus. I am really hoping that this song tops charts, but with all the crappy songs that only go to #1 nowadays, I hope this gem by MC atleast cracks top 10 (no top 5 pretty please?) and if it hits #1, I will be overjoyed. I want people to know what real music is, and MC is the real deal. Ok lastly, I am not feeling the remix much, I thought it would be re-sung like WBT but hey who cares, the main song is A+mazing and from the reviews of fans I see most of them are giving both versions mainly positive reviews so yes I am super happy. Nail the promotions MC and take your much deserved 19th #1. I love you.

You're Mine (41,147) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Ok, so I couldn't wait any longer. I heard the original and remix version. I loved the original version. Smooth, sweet, powerful and pow. The remix was alright, not bad though. What matters is that the original was excellent. Mariah is back.

Mystery collaborator (41,126) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
So the mystery collaborator, "whom MC worked with before but the song wasn't released", on the new album must be Trey Songz, since the Inseparable remix was never officially released. Among her other well known collaborators, I wish MC works with Jay Z again, I loved them together in Heartbreaker, You Got Me, Shake It Off Remix, Bye Bye remix and Things That You Do. I would also love another Mariah-Diddy moment. They might not be on the new album, but hopefully in future albums she'll work with them again.

Remix video (41,124) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I think the remix video is the one where Mariah is on the piano (as Trey is featured on it and the shots of her music video on the piano shows her wearing the same black dress she wore in the pics with him), while the main one is the one shot in Puerto Rico. So it's possible she sang the remix version at BET honors. Yes, I am blabbering on about it, but it's only because I am so excited about tomorrow. So bear with me.

New single (41,116) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
You're Mine regular version and remix featuring Trey releasing on the 12th. Video premiere of regular version on the 12th, remix version on the 14th. I think I will die out of excitement tonight. Serious shiver moment going on even in the hot weather here.

New single video / Bill (41,093) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
So there is a Facebook fan page that has some of the pics of Mariah's BET performance but these pics cover a bigger size and you can see there is a huge screen behind Mariah, and the music video is playing on it. So I was partially right that she will be featured on a piano in the video. There was also a cutscene of her in a white dress and gloves, dancing with a man. So I m guessing that's the video. I like the concept! Bill, it is unlikely she will use those pictures because they are from really old photoshoots.

Lyrics (41,088) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Ok so there is a new video with the lyrics and I think maybe I misheard her lyrics as she says "I can't seem to give you up, you're mine" instead of "I can't seem to get you off my mind". Ah why must the wait be so painful?
(Monday 10 February 2014; 19:43)
Mariah (41,085) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
So her new Facebook profile pic still calls her single You're Mine with the addition of a sub heading of the word Eternal. So now I am confused. Is the song Can't Get You Off My Mind or You're Mine because the lyrics of the leaked audio suggest the name is the former while she keeps referring to it as the latter. Or am I in luck and she is indeed releasing two different singles? The release date of the single has been shifted to 12th instead of 14th. Also we now have an album date. Yay! May 6th, I cannot wait.

Ryan (41,073) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I was thinking the same. Mariah did a stellar job and the song was perfect but there is a chance that Mariah knew in advance that the song is going to leak and hence she sang an alternate version. But I am glad to see that all the reviews here as well as on YouTube are positive and I am happy with the song. This is exactly what she needed for a comeback. This song should do a great job on the charts. As for the video, I have been thinking maybe it also has those moments of Mariah on a piano (the same as the performance judging from the similar outfit she wore in the pics with Trey) and there might be like some cut scenes, flashbacks probably, of her with her loverboy in Puerto Rico. Just a guess. At this point it can be anything, she might have shot alternate videos for remixes. I think Mariah really took charge this time around. So excited for Wednesday and Friday.
