I do not agree with you, but then again, it's only opinions. You sit on yours, and I have mine. I have been a fan since 1990, but I don't love every project she has done, but am still here. I call that a real fan, even if you disagree.

Yes. The message is that there's real fans who will be there through thick and thin. And there's fans who are only fans if their fave is doing well and then abandon them if they're not. They're toxic success-stans.

So a fan who is still there after let's say 30 years plus, but doesn't like everything she does, isn't a real fan? Did I read your message wrong? I have to ask.

You should see what Arianators are telling Ariana. In fandom, there's always 2 types: true fans who will be there through it all. And success-stans who's only there to live vicariously through the celebrity success.

Super Bowl (105,308)
by Brandon from USA

Usher and MC don't have a hit together so it wouldn't make sense for him to bring her out. I could see him bringing out Alicia Keys to sing "My Boo" because that song was a huge hit. Super Bowl performers don't get a long time to perform and Usher has so many hits that MC isn't needed. MC said herself in an interview that Usher doesn't need her to put on a show at the SB (not verbatim). Plus, their performance styles are different. Usher is very energetic and moves smoothly whereas MC stiffens up on stage and can be somewhat dry. I can't see it guys. Sorry.

You know TJ from Norway, sometimes finding like minded people doesn't mean you're right. Sometimes it just means there's like minded people. For starters, there was nothing "extreme" in RJ's post, RJ was simply calling it like it is. Wanna talk about how there's people out here that believe Trump won the last election and is the current President here. Now that's extreme. Also there was no mention of Tik Tok and judging from his previous rants, I know for a fact Edward doesn't know much or the meaning of the term woke. You probably don't either. Human decency is what we're actually needing more of.

Ed Sherran [sic] collaboration (104,857)
by Robert-Anthony from United States
| |
|
|
I listened to Shivers today. When you hear an Ed Sherran song you know it's Ed Sherran 100%. I am just wondering how a Mariah Carey and Ed Sherran song would sound on the radio. I think that they could create a dance pop song that radio would be played in heavy rotation. My only reservation about suggesting a collaboration is that Ed Sherran's musical style may be too pop for MC's musical direction in 2024. She really hasn't recorded a true pop song since #Beautiful. However, he could suggest a melody and a chord that would inspire something in the style of Fantasy or Dreamlover to MC's liking.

I wonder why Mariah stopped midway through MC30. I know speculations that she didn't have clearance for the rest but first of all why even start a project when you don't have all the clearance and secondly why would IDJ give her clearance for TEOM which was one of the biggest albums and not for the rest? She kept saying multiple times it's not over but then we never heard about it again.

I love the first Ariana album. I guess I was trying to find 90's Mariah in her voice and music, but even though I've enjoyed a few tracks here and there from her later albums, I haven't been able to quite connect with her like that. When I read comments from her fans, it reminds me how devoted and ready to fight for her we were back then, as if Mariah had put spell on us. Those were the days. Ariana is hugely successful but fame has had a toll on her, in part that's why she's devoted to one project only.

Mariah said the original script for All That Glitters (the original name of the movie) was very dark and edgy. If Sony was behind the project, maybe Mariah could even win her Oscar for Best Original Song for Never Too Far or at least get nominated for Best Actress. All That Glitters would become what The Bodyguard did to Whitney's. Maybe.

I just thought about this song today. Why are Christmas ballads not as popular as up tempo songs during the Christmas season? Every song released and makes it unto the charts is up tempo or mid tempo. You would think with the right promotion and airplay, Miss You Most could easily be a top 10 hit each year.

George Michael / 3-words (103,633)
by Andrew from the UK
| |
|
|
What was he like? He was the softest and most unassuming of the big-name celebrities I have met - like most celebrities they appreciate people around them who are casual and not starstruck. But it didn't register with me at the time that he was - and is - one of the best-selling artists of all time. He did not seem fully comfortable being around people. I just felt warmth and compassion for him. I think it appropriate to say we shall never look upon his like again.
To continue the original irony of that quote: Here is George. This was the night. And *that* right there is my rather expensive bottle of voddy. But it was rather funny seeing this in the newspaper a couple of days later. And it's George bloody Michael. So all is forgiven, Sir.
I think there are many contenders for the 3 most beautiful words in the English language: aside from the obvious, "let me help" is certainly powerful. But I would suggest that "one more try" is a great axiom and a brilliant mantra by which to live.
I am currently now listening to One More Try and Heavenly on repeat thru my headphones and I will admit they have me a bit emotional. The songs go very well together and I think Mariah can lay claim to: "never give up". But whether "never give up" or "one more try" - please, don't ever anyone ever give up, for you always have one more try within you. Just one more try.
Stand fast.
