About MusicfanJ from Germany: I'm a fan of Mariah since Daydream came out.

I won't allow it (113,084) by MusicfanJ from Germany
I love it too. The groove, the lyrics and the humor. It's such a fun, relaxed song.

2026 Mariah (113,074) by MusicfanJ from Germany
You're welcome. No school days sounds good. Stay safe because of the storm. I wish that for all the US lambs who are affected. I'm curious of the Winter Olympics in Italy with Mariah. A complete new song would be a big surprise, but Mariah singing a bit in Italian sounds wonderful too.

2026 Mariah (113,070) by MusicfanJ from Germany
"She was left with no choice, but to write songs that would heal her broken spirit inside." Yes, her songs from the start often shows it. They are very special, I just love the early lyrics. The same with "Make it happen". I'm sorry to hear you've got troubles with your co-worker today. I work in an office for administration, mobbing has happened sometimes by co-workers too. It can really poison the atmosphere and costs energy. The best thing is to ignore those idiots and false snakes or talk with the boss maybe. Sometimes it helps, sometimes not. But anyway don't let them "take away" your friendly spirit. Listen to the one and only Mariah and enjoy her music. She's really the best to cheer the mood up.

2026 Mariah (113,069) by MusicfanJ from Germany
Yes, I feel the same way. Lol. When I think of 97 for example, I'm like it was yesterday. Spooky. But you're an 80ies born kid too right? When we age, we are like wine, we only get better. Even with a little wrinkle here and there and maybe some little aches, but inside still very young. (Most of the time.) In Norway I heard there's the friluftsliv. A very heathy lifestyle. So I'm sure, there's no horror. But the time flies too fast, that's so true.

2026 Mariah (113,058) by MusicfanJ from Germany
Good question. I wonder too. And I miss lyrics like "There's got to be away". I can still relate to it. And it's still up-to date and maybe always will. More than with luxury bags LV, shoes or a private plane.

Deep cuts album (113,025) by MusicfanJ from Germany
I like the [#1's] cover, very diva-like but it suits for all the number ones. I think she looks like a supermodel on it. On the [Rainbow] cover she's of course beautiful too but it was clearly another look, very playful and sexy and "bubblegum". The pic from the booklet on the inside, Mariah with the lollipop is another supermodel pic. She was still so young, so I can understand she wanted to show her sexy side. But she was always so beautiful, the pic from the [Emotions] album on the inside with the thank you's. Such a natural beauty.

Speaking about deep cuts (113,008) by MusicfanJ from Germany
I enjoyed your post very much. I think I know what you mean with "Long ago". I never heard a female singer sing so "cool" and urban like Mariah did on Long Ago. The same with Fantasy. But what I loved about Long Ago was the groove and at the same time the sad undertone. It's almost hypnotic. "Want you" is very underrated too. I love that "80ies tune" and her soft, soulful voice on it. Her music catalogue is outstanding. Mariah can sing every genre, from pop to soul/RnB, jazz, country, soft-rock, gospel, blues, maybe grunge lol. It's very rare, and almost every album sounds different. It can never get boring. I still have to discover her newest album fully. But NII and "I won't allow it" are my favourites too. "Your love" is beautiful too. Mariah is the queen of covers too.

Deep cuts album (113,007) by MusicfanJ from Germany
Yes, I also think it wasn't needed. She was sexy and carefree with Butterfly but the cover from Rainbow is not so good. Of course it was the "bubblegum pop time" in 99 but I never liked the look from the cover. The look from the "Against all odds" video was beautiful and the many live performances around the world were mostly classy and pretty.

Deep cuts album (112,984) by MusicfanJ from Germany
"When I listen to the album, it feels like Mariah's most 'adult' album despite it coming so early in her career." I absolutely agree. The album always seemed so grown-up and classy. I love that. It's still one of her best records. Always in the shadow from Music Box, but such an outstanding work by such a young Mariah, which makes it even more considerable. The melodies and lyrics, pure poetic art.

Confetti & Champagne (112,972) by MusicfanJ from Germany
I think it's the only song that sounds like it could be on the MOAIA album. It has grown on me. I like the cheers, cheers, cheers. But I still prefer NII as a single. Will there be another single? I fear there won't be another.

In Your Feelings and "stuff" (112,927) by MusicfanJ from Germany
I find that pretty interesting what the native speakers say about the topic. Why the word stuff is bleeped out? I thought it's a "normal", harmless word. It's like a school lesson for me here. I also didn't know that purple is not only a colour (it's like that). Lol.

Was Celine the original JLo? (112,879) by MusicfanJ from Germany
I always liked Celine too. A smart, funny woman. Her music is pop and a bit of chanson but on a level which is really rare. She belongs to the "voice trinity" with Mariah and Whitney. J.Lo is so far away from it. She was never more than an entertainer/dancer. I don't know why Tommy helped her instead of another singer. Thalia at least seemed friendly and nice. Personally I can't stand J.Lo.

Was Celine the original JLo? (112,850) by MusicfanJ from Germany
Okay. Hmm I just never compared it with Titanic. More like an art video. I'll have to think about it. For me it's just a beautiful black and white video. But I still can't imagine Mariah staying on the Titanic like Céline and singing MHWGO.

The Titanic-themed My All video? Where is it Titanic themed? Serious question. There is a shell, a lighthouse, a male model and Mariah who's also looking like a top model.

Mariah singing at the Oscar (112,837) by MusicfanJ from Germany
Yes absolutely. Or look at Pamela Anderson, she moved to the nature and changed her look. I was impressed by that change. I fear Mariah can't leave the showbiz behind her. We'll see what's going on next year. Yes, she'll always be the queen of the 90ies. That's why her famous Christmas song is from 94 too. She was unmatched back then. It was magical.

Article: Mariah Carey's twins tower over her (112,836) by MusicfanJ from Germany
That's why I hope they don't get "mad" later when they are 18 or so like kids from other stars. I think it's very unhealthy to stay at the public if you're kid. There are so many sad examples. I just watched a new docu about Liza Minelli. It was very interesting and sad at the same time. To have a famous mother from that league isn't easy for sure.

Was Celine the original JLo? (112,818) by MusicfanJ from Germany
No, she wouldn't have recorded MHWGO. Imagine Mariah on the Titanic music video. No way. Lol. As you said at that time she was leaving the pop music behind her and embraced the rnb/urban music genre completely. I remember how I went to the Titanic movie twice, when the song played almost everybody shared a tear and felt emotional. What an event that was at that time in the cinema. I will never forget. The late 90ies were still rocking.

Article: Mariah Carey's twins tower over her (112,794) by MusicfanJ from Germany
I think Monroe doesn't look so happy on the pic. Or is it the typical teen look? No smile. Rocky is trying to be cool. Lol. But I'm sure they are not forced to wear the sweaters. But they now have a difficult age. The "easy" years are over. Mariah please keep them grounded. I'm always shocked how bizarre some kids from celebrities are. Mariah's kids always seemed very nice.
