AMA's anticipation is high (107,456)
by Libra Lamb from USA

I don't mind your need to post as much as you do. Do your thing and always be yourself. To each their own. I've been quiet because I've not been inspired lately. But yesterday on my birthday my husband surprised me with tickets to go see Mariah in Atllanta on November 23rd. I'm beyond excited and I think it's worth sharing on here.

Is that really the sentiment amongst the board members? Okay, I hear everyone loud and clear. Going forward, I will limit my posts. I don't want you to get to that point and you say "I don't know him."

Brazil concert (107,399)
by Carlos from Brazil

It was absolutly a surreal experience. I felt like I was leaving my body. I've been a fan for 20 years so to see her in person was a life changing moment. I felt like she was like really real. Her voice is so pretty, her songwriting is awesome and she is one of the prettiest women ever. The Brazilian outfit and the butterfly dress is now iconic. I went to the São Paulo concert and it was as amazing as the Rock in Rio show, even better. Her Portuguese is cute. She came back for the IWKWLI without her shoes haha. 50k people singing with her. It was the happiest day of my life.

I was at the Atlanta show as well. That was my second Mariah show. I previously went to the Atlanta date of the The Adventures of Mimi tour. I honestly liked the Angels Advocate show better. The Fox Theatre is a way better venue than Phillips Arena.

Mariah's mom and sister died on the same day (107,268)

I'm sorry who are you? Nobody, that's who. Calling me nasty, you need to check yourself. My response was well deserved, usually is, so mind your business, you're no one's bodyguard. Read this slowly. Kick. Rocks. I'll say what I want and when I want. You don't have to read my posts. Did you get that? Don't waste your time or data replying either. I'm tired of people presenting their opinions as facts, that's all.

Mariah's mom and sister died on the same day (107,265)

Stop being so nasty all the time, especially since you're hiding. This may be complex so read slowly. Right now I think cutting people off is considered a flex. People brag about it. I understand doing it as a means to protect yourself. But it definitely shouldn't be done as a punishment or retaliation. Sometimes you must be the bigger person more than once because the other person is severely lacking. I am not criticizing MC for her handling of her abusive siblings. Hell, I would have cut Alison off too. But since I know MC through dozens of interviews, personal songs and a print memoir, I know she's a lot like me. We are both sensitive. And nothing knocks down the wall guarding a sensitive person more violently than regret. That is why people are hoping, not demanding, not forcing, her to have some sort of resolution with Morgan than involves some sort of regular communication.

Wow. If I didn't know any better, I'd say you must be one of Mariah's closest advisors. You seem to have a lot more insight into her private life as relationships than the rest of us are privy to, including Mariah herself. You should tell her exactly that.

Maybe if a high school cheerleading squad or a couple of high school besties created a football jamboree or homecoming dance routine to an instrumental track, then it would go viral. The lyrics are kind of outdated now singing about getting ready to go to the club and being at the club. No one sings or raps about being at club now. Probably one of MC's most missed opportunities for a number one song. It really makes me wonder if L.A. Reid was really running Def Jam in 2008. He just lacked the same enthusiasm for E=MC2 that he had for TEOM.

I can assure you that she is receiving zero "hate" for coming out as "bisexual" in 2024. But she's definitely receiving understandable eye rolls from people who can see that it's motivated by a desire for attention. In 2024, you don't broadcast your personal life like this unless your motivation is publicity.
I contrast Morris with Tracy Chapman and Luther Vandross, both of whom had lots of speculation about their sexual orientation but had enough class to swat people away when asked about it. It's not normal to broadcast this kind of thing and definitely not when you're recently divorced with a young son.
And from personal experience, I can tell you that "waiting until later in life" is not a luxury that many gay men and lesbian women have had.

Everyone's journey is different and we shouldn't make assumptions about her decisions. A lot of people come out much later in life, mostly from fear of being judged or alienated. Therefore we shouldn't judge her for coming out and it certainly is not worth all the hate one can receive for what you call "the cool factor". Take it easy, enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Maren Morris is an attention-seeking narcissist lol. I cannot stand it when celebrities come out as "bisexual" or "queer" for the cool factor. It's such a slap in the face to those of us who have been openly gay or lesbian since before it was cool to identify as "LGBTQ+".
My question to Morris is, why get married to a man and have a child with him if you always harbored these thoughts? I think people who harbor doubts about their sexual orientation have an obligation to tell people they are planning to marry and with whom they are planning to have children. It isn't fair to the children, and it isn't fair to the ex-spouse. And, yes, before anyone accuses me of sexism or "biphobia", I would argue the same in situations where the person in question is male or if the person in question was a gay man or lesbian woman.

I attended the Charmbracelet tour in London in 2003 right before Halloween, and this year I'm actually planning on going back and see her Christmas shows
I'm currently hospitalized for depression with previous suicidal thoughts for the second time since 2009. If it hadn't been for my mobile phone and YouTube and the existence of Mariah Carey, I wouldn't have survived. I have to thank Mariah again for saving my life, thank you Mariah.

Good for her. I'm considering going to see her again when she comes through Atlanta. I wonder what other "surprises" she's got in store to celebrate the 30th anniversary. Hopefully in one of those fake gift boxes in the background sits MC16. Now that would be a sweet present for her fans. Doubtful but hopeful. Anyways, happy Friday everyone. Enjoy your weekend.

If It’s Over? (107,076)
by Libra Lamb from USA

This song is hugely underrated. The lyrics and her delivery is perfection. Should've been a number 1. Lol. I became a fan with Fantasy. I'd heard Hero and a few other songs but I was probably too young to appreciate it and too busy being a kid. I'm born in 81 and moved to the States from Mexico in 89. I had to learn English so the first few years were a blur. But Fantasy caught my ear with it's lyrics and fresh sound, there was no one like Mariah on the radio besides the late great Whitney Houston. I will always be a fan, no matter what. It actually makes me really sad to think that one day she won't be here. I will be a mess if she goes before I do. Sorry that took a left turn. But you guys get my point.

I can't let go either. There's nothing MC can do for me to turn my back on her as a fan. Her music has always been there for me and will forever be. At the end of the day she's just as human as you and I and I can't fault her for anything. When I had no one to talk to and when I felt alone, she (her music) was there for me. Loyalty is everything to me.

Same here, I'll be looking for new music, movies and TV series to distract myself from all the craziness around the elections. It's a shame that we live in a beautiful world that can be so ugly and unpleasant at the same time. Life is short and wonderful if we can look past all the horrible things around us and not let them affect us in a negative manner. I am truly sorry that I offended anyone, I know that I could be more diplomatic in my comments and I've failed miserably at that. I believe everyone has the right to live their lives as they choose without judgement. Stacey I'm sorry for my negative comments directed at you.

I am not looking forward to everything that leads up to election day in November. The name calling, the political ads during primetime programming, and the uneasy political climate irritates me from September to November. I hope this Fall TV season's new shows like Poppa's House (CBS), Brillant Minds (NBC), Georgie's and Mandy's First Marriage (CBS), Happy Place (NBC), and Elsbeth (CBS) can brighten my mood this fall.

I would just encourage everyone to do their research, cross check their information, and make an educated decision in November as well as get involved in their local politics and elections. Don't take my word for anything or anyone else's, go seek the truth and go from there. At the end of the day we will all vote for whomever and have to live with those decisions. I'm not here to sway anyone or educate anyone on anything.

I'm no supporter of Trump's, but the reality is that Biden's record on racial issues is equally bad or worse than Trump's. With Biden, you have five decades of off-color racial comments/gaffes and horrible policy choices that negatively impacted African-Americans. The difference is that Biden pretends to be your friend while stabbing you in the back, while Trump stabs you in the front.
Biden voted for the 1994 crime bill which resulted in disproportionately higher rates of incarceration amongst African-Americans. He also spoke about how proud he was of his work with segregationists during his time in the Senate. And he was also opposed to busing as part of the de-segregation process. Vice President Harris called him out on this in the 2020 primary debate, go back and watch the clips.
This is why I refused to support Joe Biden in the 2020 primary or the general election (and voted for Green Party candidate Howie Hawkins), why I thought he was an awful choice to be President Obama's VP (supported Obama in 2008 and 2012), and why I thought he was an awful candidate in 2008.
Not saying that either Trump or Biden is great. I'm simply saying that Democrats are equally as capable as Republicans of racial bigotry, homophobia, misogyny etc. Almost every mainstream Democratic leader was opposed to same-sex marriage (Biden, Clinton, Obama, Clyburn, etc.) until the supreme court decision made it untenable to hold that belief. Many have never apologized and acknowledged they were wrong.

Good, respectful, healthy political conversation is a lost art. Stop the name calling. That's all I've been trying to say to you. It has no place in conversation no matter the topic. If that makes me a loser, cultist, such a horrible person in your eyes, then I'm guilty as charged. Shame on me for arguing such a thing. SMH.

I'm not sure which part of toilet paper you didn't understand. I can't begin to grasp the mentality of the far right MAGA cult that supports Trump. He's a very dangerous person and already denying the upcoming elections results. Democracy is at stake here. It's bigger than you and I, name calling, money, political correctness, self righteousness, etc. There's so much at stake that I'm not worried about how I feel or how I make someone else feel. I don't mince my words and I call it like I see it. Have you seen people wearing a fake bandage on their ear? The cultists will make excuses for Trump that they won't even make for themselves or their loved ones. If it quacks like a cult, and walks like a cult, it's a cult. I get my news from multiple respectable sources, not the Trump media, Fox News and Tik Tok. I've done my research. You don't have to do yours, that's my problem. I'm not here to school you.

I encourage you to read the book "What this comedian said will shock you" written by Bill Maher. He despises Trump. He said this, "'I can't hate you. I've said it a billion times. You can hate Trump, you can't hate all the people who like him. It's half the country.' I'm certainly not blind to Donald Trump's fault. I get it why people choose to vote for him. You know, somebody who's conservative once said to me 'What you don't get, you liberals don't get about Trump is that we don't like it either. We just see him as a bulwark against the nonsense on the left.' And I understand that because there is a lot of nonsense on the left and that's in my book, too."
I share his thoughts because you have every right to call Trump a racist. That's your opinion. But you can't call his supporters racist. That's something I'll always push back on. Maher is simply saying he hates Trump but can't hate his followers. Those are good people. Instead of calling someone a cultist, find out why they support Trump. You might learn something, and in turn that person might learn something from you. Good conversation is severely lacking in today's society.

I will say this and then I think I'll drop it. Trump unites people in hate. He's not a "Christian" and neither are his followers. He hates the same groups that his followers hate, whether it's the blacks, the gays, the trans, the Latinos or anyone that's different. His supporters seem to think that he will eradicate these already marginalized groups, like Hitler did. They can use the excuse about making more money all they want and use the same talking points they hear on Fox News all day long, it doesn't change what's in their heart, hate. Instead of worrying focusing on themselves and leaving their kids generational wealth all their kids will inherit is generational hate. I know because I see it in my own family. Which I gladly don't speak to, bunch of haters. No one is free of sin and no one's sins are greater than others. We are all the same.

If I could like this message more times, I would. And you're right about not getting anywhere arguing with a cultist. A conservative is one thing, but being all in for a proven con artist, sexual predator, misogynist, bigot, ignorant, wannabe authoritarian (did you hear him today asking "Christians" to vote just one more time and they'll never have to vote again? Awful) just because you don't understand how the world economy works, and you don't know your own history, is quite another thing altogether.

I work from home. Boring stuff but I make my own schedule which is nice.

I can see from the diversity here we can build up the greatest enterprise to re-boost Mariah's career (sorts of...). Don't you all agree? Lol.

I really like this idea. We need more Morales collaborations or dance tracks in general. More remixes like in the old days.

Original David Morales collaboration (106,953)

I was thinking today if we will finally get an original David Morales collaboration for MC16. Metorite was a pleasant surpirise on MIAM. And Caution could have been a bonus dance track after Portrait. I am just hoping for more original dance/electronic tracks on MC16. I am keeping my fingers cross.
