Funnily enough when I read that article, I first read it as "Mariah fires manager" because that's what I wanted to hear so badly I suppose. There can be miracles when you believe.

Re: "No one wants albums anymore." Wrong, girl (73,339) (73,341)

I think for once she's being smart and in touch with reality. She knows she does not sell anymore and she does not want another major album of her's to flop. Releasing singles obviously does not have that much pressure on her and she can test out the waters and see how her singles perform. She obviously is not going to come out and say I'm not releasing an album right now because I don't sell much or because I'm having label issues - she's never been one of those artists.

Mariah's mystery collaborator (73,150)
by Shezz from Pk
| |
|
|
Not sure if this topic was discussed already (I didn't see it.) So who do people think is Mariah's next song collaborator? We know 3 things from her interviews: 1. It is a male singer 2. She has collaborated with him before 3. Good friend of her's I'm hoping she's not referring to a rapper because then her list is endless. My guesses as to who it could be: 1. John Legend 2. R Kelly 3. Babyface 4. Miguel 5. Sisqo 6. Puffy 7. Jay Z 8. Busta Anybody?

So very well said. And she still has a few "lambs" who very vocally support her every move like that Gilles guy on twitter. I don't think he's on her team but he acts like he is. Promoting this Grammy video on his account is ludicrous as if she said something great. He's also a diehard supporter of Stella, so it figures. He claims only the real fans get Stella and her importance. It's these kind of people that Mariah has surrounded herself with which is why she is where she's at.

Re: Sudden hate for the Grammys (72,828) (72,841)
by Shezz from Pk

Exactly, why bring up the 1996 snubbing when they awarded you for TEOM and when asked about how she felt on not being awarded song and record of the year she replied gracefully saying that she got best RnB song and best RnB performance and as an RnB artist that's what's important for her. She even did special Grammy interviews and was part of their nomination concert after that. This reeks of "empowered women", "women who stand up for themselves", "work hard, complain harder". You could almost see the trail of blush on the floor. It's like she's been so brainwashed these last 2 years. I completely do believe people can have such adverse effects on your mindset.

The Grammys foiled me (72,806)
by Shezz from Pk
| |
|
|
Oh Lord. She really mustn't give these random interviews now. So in some Satellite interview the interviewer asked her what her thoughts were on the Grammys and he said, "Do you really think I watch the Grammys? They are so boring and predictable. After they foiled me in 1996. Before they wouldnt vote for me because they were against popular songs and now theyre all about voting for what's popular." 1. So "foiled" is her new favourite word. 2. Yes we get what she means by it being boring and predictable but come on Mariah, why are you hell bent on perpetuating this unfriendly image of yours? So after that 30 second clip all the 4 presenters laughed at how bizzare her response was and how that was 2 decades ago and how she could've just said no I didnt watch it but I'm happy for Adele and Beyonce. She seemed so disinterested and ticked off that the guy asked her about the Grammys, but he was quite nice about it. He even said, "As a 5 time Grammy winner what do you think about the results?" There's apparently a lot more to the interview they just showed a short clip. So basically she has decided she's not going to be nice anymore. It's strange to see this side of her. It would have been better had she said "I don't know the Grammys."

Whereas I agree JLP was a more iconic album for sure, it did not have any Hot 100 #1s, it had Alternative Chart #1s (3) on the Billboard US charts. I don't think she has scored a number 1 Hot 100 in the US to date.

I think we're all assuming the Grammys invited her to perform and she turned them down and went to a party instead. With her current reputation they probably didn't ask her to perform. But when has Mariah been a Grammy staple anyway? She last went for TEOM nominations. Plus according to a Billboard article the original George Michael tribute idea featured Adele, Beyonce and Rhianna but GM's family wanted only Adele to do it. I'm sure Mariah was sadly not even considered although ironically One More Try was one of the songs for the original medley with Beyonce and Rihanna.

Re: MW finale plot twist? (71,742) (71,759)

Also, I feel this single has just been conjured up for MW, to deal with the James fiasco and because of the Label's push for music. I don't expect there to be any roll out or promotion or any appearances to support it. Label probably didn't even invest much in the video from the looks of it. It will be another Triumphant and not make the album cut.

Adele interview (71,745)
by Shezz from Pk
| |
|
|
Something Adele said in an interview when her last album came out is so true. She said that she refused to live the life of a popstar and remained out of the limelight and lived a normal life after 21's success because when you are disconnected from reality you just can't write songs that your listeners can relate to. We can't expect her to soar when the hippos and the monkeys and the rest of the travelling circus literally sitting on her head. Free Mariah.

Clearly what she meant was that the show does not reflect reality and is all scripted hence anybody calling it a reality show would be an idiot. That was how to decode her "it's not a reality show" comments.

Re: Song snippet (71,693) (71,707)
by Shezz from Pk

Even if it is a great song lyrically most lambs will not be able to appreciate any sincerety in the song because of MW. Lets just assume for argument's sake it was not scriptedand it is real (eye roll) 1. Seeing how she has been flirting with Bryan since the begining, 2. seeing how she allowed Bryan to get intimate with her on the camera (knewing it was filmed and she was engaged to get married) and how she told Stella that she did not have much time to give James when he came (but enough to party with the squad) - these lyrics are just ludicrous. Unless it is written like Butterfly from the other partner's perspective it won't make any sense. Or Stella should not have publicised it as a clapback song to Packer. I swear I still want to believe Stella has Mariah on lock the last 2 years and Mariah is being blackmailed or is in a trance and has no choice but to do what the puppet master says. Yes Mariah always had issues but theres just no way you can change so much in 2 years. This is all Stella's created mess - hate on me as much as you want. With no other manager was she even remotely like this? We need to have an exorcism. Or maybe she isn't meant to write good songs anymore, maybe she's just meant to... exist.

Here is the link of the australian site that has the new song snippet with M singing in the studio. Don't know if Eric is going to post it, I'm sure it's gonna be everywhere soon. Too short to have an opinion on it, the chorus apparently samples Donnell Jones.

New pics (71,126)
by Shezz from Pk

So taking time off and being with loved ones means just hanging out with the Bullocks. There are some new pics of her around LA one thing I did notice was that the "girls" werent openly on display, which just shows that she gets them out for attention and her social media moments. It's sad that she's still wading in so much insecurity after all these years. I hope she heals and turns to her saving grace soon. Not sure if another random single floated into the air is an answer without a solid album and roll out plan. She's faced too many flops in the last few years other than Beautiful so she should take her time and do it right. Funny though how Stella is opposing new music. She obviously wants Mariah to focus on their joint non music projects because she's not in it for the music. Oh lordy MC wake up.

When exactly did he say that? Plus he thought "Infinity" would relaunch Mariah so no point trusting him anyway. It seems like he's abandoned or given up on her. She signed onto Epic nearly 2 years ago and all they've gotten out of her is a re-release plus Infinity. And the way she'd scheduled there's no time until summer for anything. How are they not pushing her for an album? If they don't believe in her why did they sign her up? Albeit for very little.

Is it the 90s? Voice message (70,995)
by Shezz from Pk
| |
|
|
Wow that was so out of nowhere. The voice message on Twitter. Regardless of the subject matter the fact that she did that again after sooo long was great. And wow so maybe Stella does convey some of our messgaes to her. She wants to take time off and be with her loved ones and family (unfortunately who she considers family now we cannot control). So obviously this really got to her, maybe it'll help her rebuild herself. Write some more inspirational anthems perhaps. She feels victimized in how they handled it. Best thing to have done was to take a page out of Adele's book. Discuss it calmly on a major talkshow and sing the hell out of those songs live.
