Vacantion moments, she's enjoying (56,408)

It's refreshing to see Mariah relaxing and enjoying her new found hapiness. We all want new music but the way some people demand it is just ridiculous.

You won't regret it. Plus they have good music. And since it's a continuing story line, starting from season 2 would be confusing for you. There are like 13 episode in season 1. Won't take long. Haha I swear Lee didn't sponsor me for this little advertisement.

Yup that would be awesome. Plus he's very R&B which we know Mariah loves. I was listening to MC this weekend and as much as this community can nitpick, I just adore Mariah as a person and an artist. Her contributions to music and generally as a human on this his planet are amazing. Sure, I have not loved everything all of the time but some of her least successful commercial albums that the world considers flops, I absolutely love them. I feel so much joy watching her perform and I'm not measuring every performance by her past. I may not have dug the Infinity remix, but I so love collecting her music and I feel fortunate. She's still here. Thanks MC. Proud to be a lamb.

I was thinking about watching season two. I'll have to go back and watch the first season so I won't be lost. I originally wanted to watch the show when it first aired, but I changed my mind. I somehow lost interest before it even aired. Now I feel left out hearing how good it is. Lol.

Licia, I would strongly recommend Empire if you haven't watched it already. It's a great show with great writing. The actors perform their characters to perfection and yes Cookie is definitely everyone's favorite (including mine of course). Taraji plays the role beautifully. She is like a powerhouse character. Lee did a brilliant job with the show. That is why I was so happy to see Mariah be a part of it, although everyone already expected her to be in season 1. But Lee did pay homage to her in season 1 as well with a huge portrait of Mariah placed in the background very prominently.

Stealing Taraji's Thunder (56,402)
by Terri from USA
| |
|
|
I think the media makes up stuff to create gossip and derision. I doubt Taraji gives a dam about the possibility of MC taing attention from her. First, Taraji, most likely, realizes that the appearance of MC in whatever role, will definitely add to the ratings, and that it's not like she's becoming a cast member, it's a guest role like all the other invitees by Lee (i.e. Chris Rock, for another). And the article, pointing out that MC has been asked to appear because she's a friend of Lee's, well, "Duh", just about all of the celebrity guest invitees mentioned over the last are friends of Lee's. There is no story here. Just can't wait to see ultimate real diva MC on the show. Hopefully, he will create a diva role for her, because in her last 2 roles in his movies he really down-played her aura. Actually, I can envision "diva street byatch" Cookie having a showdown with "diva highbrow byatch" MC. Mmm, good TV.

I also agree with Mimi L and Lee TS. Mariah is the queen of music, but Taraji is great at the acting. I don't even watch Empire, but from what I heard Cookie is that chick on the show lol. I hope this is all just a rumor though because Mariah doesn't need more bad press especially if she's really serious about keeping up with the acting. I've always loved how Lee is with Mariah when it comes to work. He loves the diva, but when it comes to doing his job he makes her leave divariah outside the studio. I too hope Mariah's character is different from her everyday image. She's so funny and people need to see that. When she did her little cameo on The Real Husbands Of Hollywood, I expected something funny and so out of character, but all I got was diva. That was a missed opportunity to show non fans a different side of her.

I read that Lee wants Mariah to play herself on Empire, don't know if it's true though. Who (persona) and what (singer or whatever) role she's going to play is not really Mariah's decision but Lee's, so if people don't like her appearance when it airs, know where to direct your disappointment.

Empire (56,398)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter

I agree with Lee TS. Mariah is the queen of the music industry but in Empire, Taraji is the boss. She is the main character and I hope Mariah respects that. The rumor was started by Hollywood life so I really wouldn't trust it just yet. Plus Lee is always good with keeping Mariah professional in his projects. He has stated that she is always on time and is always game to try anything for him. So I hope it's the same for Empire and I really hope her role is the opposite of the glamorous diva. People need to see her acting skills if she wants to explore that region. She did really good in "Precious". But she can't always rely on Lee to cast her. I mean of course Lee will, but if she wants other directors to consider her for roles, she needs to show her acting skills and a diva role would not do much for her acting because she already plays that part in real life. I'd like Lee to do what Lee does best with Mariah, that is to bring her out of her comfort zone.

The diva rumor might be very overblown. There's no way Mariah could "ruin" Empire because it's a drama, not reality TV. American Idol is a reality TV show, so when people saw the feuds they thought that the show has no essence anymore, as if it's centered on the feuds. Mariah just needs to amp up her acting prowess and if the diva acts are true, she needs to stop those because it could ruin the damage control she's done during the past few months.

I'm sorry but Cookie is the boss ass b*tch up in Empire, Mariah needs to know her place. She needs to arrive in an Uber with no make up on and hair pulled back, and no entourage. Lee is going to check her diva attitude at the door. Maybe M can play Cookie's second cousin who's a crackhead and hits Cookie up for some money and threatens to sell her out to the tabloids. I just want M to be far removed from glamour and divaness, she needs to get into a character role. Oh what if Lee can get her to chop her hair off looking all kinds of messed up. Maybe even sport a facial scar or something.

Better sit down somewhere. Mariah is a legend and when she arrives on set it's going to be all about her. She should be glad and appreciative being in the presence of one best music artists of all time. Because there's a chance it could be just a rumor to start drama, but oh well. Anyways, I hope Mariah looks her best and puts on a great acting performance.

Norman. I absolutely agree with what you are saying. I apologize to you and other lambs who felt I was being too sensitive. However, I am not someone who usually post here unless I find something of interest related to Mariah that has not been posted yet or someone says something that is contrary to what is true. Andrew spoke of the ghetto and how Mariah tries to be too hard. I responded with reality of what was really happening in these areas and how they relate to Mariah. Typically I don't respond after I make my statements here and to me, by doing so, keeps what I say permanent. Andrew attacks people regularly. He might not know but people here tell him all the time. Then Giovanni gets involved and it is what it is. I really was displeased by a UK lamb calling urban neighborhoods trash and he related it to me. So yes I said what I said and I am happy to be an American. That was my point and I will not have my character questioned but I don't mind people saying I did something wrong. My character is that I am from the ghetto and I no longer live in the ghetto. That's made me who I am today. I am sorry if I offended anyone. I speak from my heart and I represent life in a respectful way. I should not have came at Andrew so hastily and for that I apologize. As Mariah would say, "It is what it is. Dahlings."

Jamaica is actually good. It's just that the lip syncing issue with Fantasy just got so overblown. When I watched the Jamaica concert I was biting my pillow waiting for Honey because I heard she sang a remix there. I was so excited because I thought it was the radio mix with the rappers (I forgot their names lol). So I was kinda let down when it was their So So Def remix. I'm starting to love the So So Def remix but I still live for the Radio Mix.

I just had to. I have to ask if it's really that difficult to skip someone's post you know who's opinions you regularly dislike? Because If you're constantly commenting on them, it seems a little less their problem than yours if you can't leave it alone. I've stayed away from commenting on here because I find that the board too often devolves from actual Mariah themed topics to full on personal attacks over the most trivial of perceived slights. It then turns into a non-ending snark competition over who can be the worst mean girl reenactor. It's craziness. I don't know how Eric keeps his sanity. Travon, this whole pro America (and Mariah) and thinly veiled anti UK/Europe passive aggressive thing really took the cake, IMO. Dislike Andrew and his posts all you want. There's no need for flag waving in front of fellow lambs. Mariah 24/7/365. Am I reaching for the stars?

Thanks I'll have to look it up. I kind of shunned the Jamaica performance because of the Fantasy lipsync fiasco. Lol I just love that remix. JD and Mariah seem to just know the right samples to choose for a remix. Everything just flows so well.

Also lambs are different on North America depending on where you live. I have met polite Italians lambs by day but they become stupid drunks at night and extremely nice lambs. I have also met 50/50 lambs and I only want one song lambs. However here at this wonderful USA town where I live and work, it's candidly sweet and diverse. As Mr. Rogers would hashed said, "It's all good in the neighborhood."

More like, Andrew speaks his opinion and isn't afraid to tell his opinion. It's not necessarily "the truth" because not everybody will agree with him. Of course lambs will be sensitive when someone talks shit about Mariah. We prefer constructive criticism. There's a fine line between constructive criticism and talking horseshit. Imo, you crossed it so many times I don't even know if you're a lamb or not.

Mariah Carey (56,382)
by Travon..SweetSweetFantasy from USA

Mariah Carey and the USA lambs always pay the UK dust. Everything including the music market is larger and better here in the USA. I along with a legion of North American lambs are proud to have more opportunities to see Mariah Carey in all four seasons of the year than the United Kingdom. The irony is funny for them as they will still be waiting next year when Mariah goes to Europe instead. Anyway, Mariah just posted adorable pictures of DemBabies on social media today. Who is looking forward to Mariah Carey doing the Beacon shows this year in the USA? I know most of you wanted to go last year, including me but only a few went. If you love the USA and Mariah Carey, like my message and reply if you want. Out of love dahlings.
