Re: All My Life (56,380) by Andrew from UK Pretty sure All My Life and When You Believe are the only original songs Mariah has recorded that she didn't compose in some way. I remember hearing an interview where she said the guy handed her the song and said "Do what you want with it" and she told him it was perfect the way it was. Lead The Way is awesome. Unless you live in the hood or know what it is, don't use the word ghetto. If it had come out of someone who isn't known to be rude and arrogant, than I would not mind. However Andrew constantly pisses people off and thinks that whatever he says is truth but in reality no one usually backs what he says. He talks alot of bullshit nonsense. By the way I liked your previous comment about Mariah not posting the kids with James Packer. Also Mariah is played heavily in these communities as well. People love her in the "ghetto" and she usually reaches the "ghetto" before she crosses over to mainstream. Men don't always jam to her music because of the female hooks but they will usually jam to her music if it is hip hop and has a nice beat. Females had their cars always jamming in the hood bars turned loud. That is the real issue with her songs. Her comeback was heavily hip hop driven. You can't go from hip hop success and try so hard for pop success and expect to remain musically relevent. Andrew, the "ghetto" won't even listen to her songs if they lack a good beat or sound. In 2005 everyone in the hood knew who she was before she crossed over to mainstream. Her label in 2005 marketed het music to "ghetto" urban communities first. In reality, the "ghetto" made Mariah relevent again. So please take several seats once again for even implying that Mariah tries too hard to be ghetto. She has our respect always as thugriah. Re: Lost (56,364) (56,371) by Bill from the UK I agree in part, as much as I love Mariah's recent efforts, there was a particular elegance that came with Butterfly because it was, at the time, the most genuine record she had ever made, and I'm sure we'll all agree on that point. It was a perfect blend of her show stopping ballads with some hip-hop flourishes incorporated gracefully into her signature R&B. It worked because it was sincere. (Saturday 29 August 2015; 13:57)

"All My Life" (56,370) by Billy from Greece So, I've been listening to "Glitter" right now, blasting every tune and adoring it just like the first time I put it in my cd-player. "All My Life" is one of all-time favorites by Mariah, ever, and the monster hit that never was and should have been. Imagine if that was the first single off the soundtrack. Israel concert (56,368) by Licia from USA I'm finally watching clips from the Israel concert. She sounded great. Don't know what all the hub bub was about her not sounding good. Did she sound like 90's Mariah? Nope, but she worked it out. I thoroughly enjoyed hearing the So So Def remix of Honey. I don't think she has ever performed that live. New album / Mara (56,367) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Mara, there seems to be a lot of people who have supposedly collaborated with Mariah during the recording of MIAM era and the songs never came out. We heard different song titles (which could have been rumors) but some came out of Mariah's own mouth. Then I will never stop asking where the heck is the Morales collaboration that he tweeted about during that time. Mariah is probably going to release a surprise album soon. Yes I am riling up the message board at this point haha. But I feel like she is dropping hints with the random tweets. She does have enough material if we are to take into account her statement that she has a whole album ready which she wanted to release but didn't because someone copied it before she could release it. I get an eerie feeling a bunch of female artists will release their music the second, very second Adele does. Heck I would. I feel we will get a surprise album guys. Because right now we are so distracted by all the Packer romance stories it's a great set up for an album. I also believe Packer and Mariah fell in love real quickly. But then again, I would consider her music post-1994 as urban. So I think she's trying to win back her old fans. If she wants to recapture the hip-hop audience, she should release something raw and tasteful, like Breakdown. Then again, I want her to make music that is true to her heart and completely satisfies herself. Also, am I crazy or shoes anyone else remember Maxwell insinuating he recorded some new music with MC back around December? I love him, so I could have imagined it but I do swear I remember something like that. I really would love that, I actually would love any unreleased music from MC's catalog to be honest. She also put up the picture of the VOL single cover and asked fans to guess what single cover it was (as if there is a single lamb or even non lamb left in this world who doesn't know that iconic cover). Anyways I wonder if she is giving out some hints or what? The possibility of a surprise album gets me all giddy. She seems like she is recording behind the scenes. There is, I believe, a general feeling online, and in general, that Mariah is caught up in wannabe-ghetto a lot in recent times (Triumphant it was not) and much of it has been a mess in many ways. "Why you mad?" is the peak of this. Whilst I don't want to upset anybody, I always feel I should tell it how I, and others see it. The opinion that re-releasing Ones and Merry Christmas is good but doesn't in anyway marry with the current output is valid. If you find me offensive or disrespectful I invite you not to open my messages in the future. My actual name and face are always right there. My face alone should put you off. A couple of requests for the new MCA (56,355) by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End 1. I really miss the search function. Is that coming back at some point? MCArchives was so great with the unique news scroll with all the Mariah stories going back to the 90's. 2. Is there a possibility for there to be cursors between the news stories like we have for the message posts? That would be brilliant. 3. And the member index is no more? Eric, will you please let us know if and when you have settled on what the template MCA's new brand is gonna be/ ook like? I just thought I might speak up since we got the discography section back only because you didn't realise it's part of the MCA brand and very much appreciated.
