Christmas album (53,938) by NYHotShotta from USA Also I agree with others I don't understand why she wants to re-release the Christmas album again. I think this time she should just do the Beacon Theater performances, having them be heavily promoted this time around. I think she should work on her building up her stamina and voice for the next era and I think she should rebrand herself again. She's had this "glamorous dress" phase since the Angels Advocate tour. Advice (53,936) by NYHotShotta from USA Yes Mariah has an amazing career and she has nothing left to prove, but I agree with JD and some of the other lambs who feel she does tend to get lazy, especially recently. I felt like if you're gonna release an album, shoot a music or have a Vegas residency where your fans shell money to support you should be on top of your game. Whatever she did to prepare for the Beacon Theater concerts she should do now or it seems she's getting there because she voice is getting better from show to show. She should take the criticisms that her friends such as Nate Morris from Boyz II Men and JD have given her seriously. Mariah has way much more to give musically and MIAM has shown that. On another note I applaud her for the interviews she has been doing for this era. The interviews she had during the MIAM era were all over the place at times. This time around, she has been staying on topic throughout and even when the interviews shift she always brings it back to the music. (Sunday 31 May 2015; 6:15)

Could this all be subterfuge? (53,935) by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End It's just very odd to me once I consider the sources. Next thing you know Trey Lorenz, Mary Ann and B. Scott are going on Facebook, Twitter and blogs blasting Mariah. At this point noone seems exempt. It feels almost coordinated tbh, the attacks on Mariah's work ethic as they make no sense at all even tangentially. So, if it's blatant lies then why? Maybe it's just me wishful thinking that Team Mariah is that bold in strategy but that is the only way this makes a lick of sense. Is this a twisted version of if you can't beat 'em, join 'em meets reverse psychology? One can only hope. Whatever the case M shouldn't have to deal with this anti-Mariah open season from the press, friends or fans. Like everything else, I guess well know soon enough what's what. Ester Dean is quite a hitmaker and maybe she could collaborate with Mariah. Maybe Mariah will get another hit off that collab. I'm just hoping that if they ever collaborate, they won't come out with a song like Super Bass or S&M. Those are too mindless and kinda stupid, even for any artist. Glitter (53,931) by Warrior Butterfly from USA I read the the MC chapter and parts these accounts don't seem that far fetched especially when I started reading about Virgin/Glitter. I'm going to try to explain this the best I can. I have been informed that I don't make sense. Looking in as a average person if you're not a Mariah fan that hears about this record huge deal, and she's debuting on a label with a soundtrack album. But has never acted an odd strategy. Glitter the film might have done well if it had been a cable presentation. Truth be told I only saw it because Mariah was in it. The movie didn't flow, seemed very thrown together even the films webpage there I said it. Mariah being a first time actress in a studio film, it might have been better to take a smaller bite. HBO did Queen Latifah's film Bessie as a special feature, instead of a theater release. Same theory applies you still need enough audience willing to take in the project, I liked Bessie, but I do see why HBO did it and not some studio in reality the average person is not going to care about a jazz singer that lived over a 100 years ago. As Glitter happened it seemed that people on the inside might have known in advance or had a hunch that it might not fair well in general. Perhaps Mariah didn't want to hear the negative there was a good director but not much else as far as promotion leading up to the film. I get the feeling that while trying to succeed she lost prospective of the big picture. The reason I say this is all those behind the scenes specials and segments, seemed to be formatted for a specials section for the dvd. Da Brat taking about her charater, extra's having memories while filming in the club scenes, footage of Mariah belting out Lead The Way and so on. I don't believe many talk shows were plugging it. It felt like if you're a lamb you knew if not oh well. (Sunday 31 May 2015; 4:27)

When people hear Mariah's name nowadays they think of ridiculous demands, obsessions with lighting, never acknowledging her age, having a grudge against another female artist, etc. Mariah's depth isn't mainstream. The masses don't know her struggle. People think MC is so pampered and spoiled that there's no way she could have ever been through anything. As long as the diva antics are in the forefront of the masses' minds she will never get the respect we'd all prefer. (Sunday 31 May 2015; 4:25)

From the sound of it, that album is intact and none of the songs were used on Chanteuse. She must also be confident enough with the materials that she was willing to make a surprise drop. Right after Vegas she'll have free time until Christmas season. She could have promoted it. Plus I have nagged about this before but where is the track she apparently worked with Morales on? He posted on social media that they are working together. Then who was the supposed surprise collaborator during MIAM era? We never got to know. We already knew about everyone who was working on the album, we never found out the surprise. Mariah, honey, just give out the secret album. (Sunday 31 May 2015; 3:49)

Bow Wow out of nowhere says Mariah Carey, the #1 best selling artist of her generation, period, who has amassed over a $500 million dollar net worth and runs a minor empire 24/7 is essentially not serious enough about her career? Never mind that she's a hands on mother who priorities her children before anything else but still gives her fans new music and projects to look forward to 25 years in the game. Letting a man's word be taken as gospel simply because he's a man is so disgustingly sexist, not to mention idiotic. You would never hear him say anything remotely similar about Usher or Shad Moss because he knows they automatically get the benefit of the doubt as males, especially once his own dire situation is scrutinised. So all of you out here spreading this ridiculous idea that Mariah's lazy and doesn't care about her saving grace, when everything points to the exact opposite, are some of the most easily manipulated people I'be ever seen. I bet you're the types that vote against your own interests in every election then go aground bragging about how you're so informed. I can't express enough how disappointed I am in Jermaine Dupri. No wonder M has such a hard time trusting when even someone who's presumably been her friend for 20 years thinks nothing of sabotaging a moment that should be nothing but celebratory. Releasing an updated version of #1's to coincide with the residency made sense but rereleasing Merry Christmas before the release of the film doesn't make sense to me. She can do something throwback with a modern twist a la Miguel. His latest single Coffee sounds pretty good. I'm sure Mariah would take instrumentals like that and turn them into masterpieces. Mariah (53,920) by B from USA Mariah doesn't need a producer to save her and she doesn't need to record an album of standards. She's still relevant. She just scored a hit with #Beautiful. I love MIAM and Infinity. I hated Triumphant. Can Mariah score another #1? Absolutely. However, expecting Mariah Carey to save the industry or sell millions of albums is unrealistic. MIAM sold well considering the state of the recording industry. Albums don't sell and that is a fact. Katy Perry, Rhianna, and Lady Gaga struggled recently and their relatively new artists. JD's comments (53,919) by Daydream327 from USA I have been saying this for awhile. Mariah doesn't seem to take her career as serious as she once did. I don't know how to describe it but she just doesn't have that drive and passion anymore. She seems to do things now because she has to. She tends to put blame on everybody else when things go wrong in her career instead of being real with herself. Now before some of you start with the "she's worked hard enough already" or "now her career is not her priority but her family and kids are", Mariah is still one of the greatest singers of all time, (people do have expectations) and she still is an entertainer. She is also still putting out albums and performing. Yes, she has proved herself this is true, but she's at a point in her career where protecting that legacy is everything. I mean ask yourself how a woman who has accomplished so much in this industry rarely if ever gets the respect and recognition she deserves. Beyonce gets more praise, and she has not accomplished even half of what Mariah has. You know why? Because B has always taken her career serious. Mariah has not showed much growth musically or as an artist. And we all know she has had her ups and downs vocally. I feel if she's not gonna give it 100% and fully push herself then maybe she needs to take a break and raise her kids and come back when she's fully ready. Why continue to tarnish what you have worked so hard for? She's capable of so much more but I don't think she even cares or realizes it. (Saturday 30 May 2015; 22:18)

The Glitter era really got me anxious and I was like stressing over what was happening to her. It seems like Damion was a great friend to her and I hope she finds great memories when thinking about him. I hope Mariah releases a memoir one day or a mini series as she likes to call it. Mariah's being honest (53,917) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada She's been vocal about not liking much about her early music videos for years now. I think it's kind of funny that people are "shocked" by the rants. Maybe the general public that doesn't pay attention to any of her specials or interviews, but to anyone else? She's said the same types of things several times over in various things. She's not ragging on the fans or the music, but to me Mariah has always been a sensitive person, and that time in her life she felt like she had to hide to please people, so she's super critical of the videos because of how trapped she felt she was. If people are going to dismiss her for being honest about how she feels about something, there's nothing she can do about that. (Saturday 30 May 2015; 21:40)

For the love (53,916) by Jono from USA It is clear that Mariah Carey is doing music because it is for the love. Echoing what many people have said on here, she no longer needs to prove herself. She said in a pre-Vegas interview, that in the 90s it was all about her career and her fear that the rug might be pulled out from underneath her and she'd be back living the difficult life she worked so hard to escape. Her kids are her main priorities now, and I think her setting a good example for her kids is far more important than anything she could accomplish career wise. Mariah is not going to be another one of those damaging stage parents that have ruined child stars, and she certainly isn't going to be absent like her father was. That is why I am not crazy about Mariah getting another #1 or trying to achieve some record, because her being a good parent for her kids is what makes me the most proud of her in this stage of her career. MC is never going to stop making music, but it's realistic to not expect her to be as diligent as she was in the 90s. She has other (more important) priorities now. (Saturday 30 May 2015; 21:21)

The state of Mariah Carey's career (53,915) by LC from USA This is how I see the state of Mariah Carey's career at this point. She is an untouchable icon whose influence and impact on music is evident now more than ever. You wouldn't hear "Bad Blood" with Kendrick Lamar or "Dark Horse" with Juicy J or "Problem" with Iggy Azalea, some of the biggest worldwide hits of the past two years, without "Fantasy" with ODB. Her impact and legacy will forever live on in music. But, in recent years, her image has taken a huge downfall. What should she do? In my opinion, Mariah has everything she needs to do a complete turnaround of her image. She has been slowly dropping her weight, her team has been working at rebranding and reminding the public of her achievements, and, as seen in Vegas, her voice is still incredible. She has everything she needs to succeed, but she also has everything working against her. I agree with what Jermaine said to an extent (though I think it's stupid of him to broadcast his comments, what kind of friend are you?), but Mariah is in a completely different state in her career now. She isn't career-driven anymore because she has something else that drives her and makes her happy that she didn't have before. Her kids. And that's a beautiful thing. Though I do want Mariah to comeback and shut up the haters more than anything, I'm just glad she's still making music and cares enough about her fans to not go on an 8 year hiatus a la Janet Jackson. L.A. Reid (53,913) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter I'll try to not rant about L.A. more, but I just have to say, at this point, I don't really trust L.A. Reid anymore. He is trying to turn Mariah into something she is not. I don't know what went down at IDJ but they did give #Beautiful a good chance. The radio deal, the official video (albeit questionable), and the alternate Spanish version video was released on time, remixes were being churned out one after another and a remix video was in the works but unfortunately the accident happened. After that, MC delayed the album a few times and then settled on a date which happened to be around the time Kanye was going to release his much publicized album. I guess that's were things went sour that they couldn't handle two big releases at the same time and MC probably didn't like it. But even still YM(E) had good promo (radio wise) and remix timings along with two (again questionable but timely) videos to accompany them. The only thing missing at that point were the TV promotions and a good management for her image. I was initially really happy with her move to Epic, but I don't think L.A. really has a good plan for Mariah. Most of the work is being done by her management/publicist eitherways.
