The woman with Mariah (50,958)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I wonder who she is. She has been pictured with her twice now. I have never seen her around MC before. Anyways, can we take a moment and acknowledge how creative MC looks in that little black dress (the one she wore to Dan Tana's). Her chest is completely covered, she's not in a gown, she looks so cute. (Monday 16 March 2015; 22:11)
HRC performance (50,957)
by Fulvio from Belgium
Lee thank you for the link. I liked it when she said: "One more. We are not prepared darling. Hahahah. She's so funny." Wow, so she is back in the studio making a new album. I can't wait. Personally I don't care if she lips or sings live. The woman can sing and has nothing to prove anymore. I have always loved Mariah more for her songwriting than for her singing. I think she should write more for other people, because she is so inspirational and still relevant. Also, she once said that she liked being in the studio. Anyway, I can't wait for the new songs and I am glad she's teaming back with LA Reid. He's a true genius. (Monday 16 March 2015; 22:08)

Mail Online (50,955)

Wow, Mail Online is suddenly being nice to Mariah. They usually always post negative things about her, even when there is nothing negative to post. (Monday 16 March 2015; 21:38)

I think someone was looking for this a while back. I think this is the whole interview, so there you have it. (Monday 16 March 2015; 21:32)
Speech / thanks Shelly (50,953)
by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
I thought the speech was heartfelt. And the second video of the HRC performance is professionally filmed. Much better quality then the YT ones prior. I still enjoy this performance. No, perhaps it wasn't a textbook vocal every moment, but I watch her to enjoy the music, the performance, not to make a list of her mistakes. Sometimes, I think the debate over live vs lipping and dubbing has been going on so long that people can't tell when something is live. (Monday 16 March 2015; 21:06)
Negativity (50,952)
by NHYTG from nyc
Carol, you are so right. If you like an artist, be a fan, if you don't like the artist anymore, for whatever reason, stop being a fan and move on with your life. There must be a singer that will fulfill your needs better than Mariah does, there are plenty of them to choose from. Mariah is Mariah, has always been Mariah and will always be Mariah, what you get is what you see. Some so called fans act like spoilt children these days. (Monday 16 March 2015; 20:55)

Reading some of your comments about Mariah's performance at HRC gala and give me a break. When I watched it I loved it and I stil do. It's patetic to say she sang good this verse, that verse sounds raspy, she doesn't sound like she did in the 90's. Enjoy the whole performance and stop judging every single word that she sings. Mariah's sound (50,950)
by JAXGH from United States
I was listening to I'll Be There and realized how much Trey Lorenz sounds the same pretty much. And how Mariah sounds distinctively different in every era. I think it's amazing how she sounds so different in every album. Literally the only artist who's voice really evolved. Because some one could listen to an unreleased song by MC not knowing when it was recorded but a true lamb will know which era it was done just by listening to Mariah's voice. Do you guys get what I mean? 1990-92, she was a power vocalist, 93-94 got more soulful, 95-96 voice evolved and she mastered the art of style, 97 she looked and sounded the best, this was her prettiest year and her own style really came out, voice completely matured, the real Mariah. 98-2001, still was amazing years vocally in the studio, 2002-04, the whisper years lmao, 2005-07, she grew even more vocally, 2008-9, I know she didnt sound like Butterfly but still were good years artistically, 2010-2014, it kind of went down hill from there. But nonetheless Mariah is amazing. Praying for a miracle for 95-97 Mariah to come back. Please Lord. (Monday 16 March 2015; 20:32)

I think she has some marks left from the accident. Someone pointed out that in of the pictures she tweeted months back of her, Nick and Dembabies, her hand was exposed and it had marks on it so maybe she hides it with the gloves. (Monday 16 March 2015; 20:30)

I agree with you. I mean we have all been asking her to drop the lip syncing and sing live and she did that. It wasn't the best, but it was certainly not the worst. I think she did a pretty good job, especially considering the fact that some people were saying she can't sing one line live anymore. She did what we wanted, she went live this time. So give her a break. Plus this was not a major concert so chances are that she didn't really warm up much for this. Let's not judge her preparations for Vegas based on this informal performance of hers. She was mainly there to show her support for a cause she believes in. Secondly I am just glad that for a change when you type "Mariah Carey" in Google news this time around, there are positive articles about her performance. Which is something new because usually right after her performances the negative articles and flood the internet search results. (Monday 16 March 2015; 20:15)

Her speech? Are we there now? A deep speech? She was speaking of her own experiences with gay people. It's as deep and as real as it gets. Praise Mariah for being natural and not preparing a speech for most occasions. (Monday 16 March 2015; 20:08)
Mariah's fans are no lambs anymore (50,946)
by Carol from Spain
I find it interesting how everyone is an expert on how Mariah should be. I take some time to comment here because it's hard to deal with all this negativity. You people dare to say Mariah sould look differently, should sound differently, should live like this and like that. For one of you in particulary what Mariah did was already outdone by others, she lost her spark. You criticize when she falls, when she wears gowns, when she wears heels, when she goes off key, when she is on key, when she goes to the park with her kids, when she doesn't promote or, if she promotes she didn't do it the way you'd like to see. What I think is : the only page/forum/group I visit where all this overlayered criticism happens is here on MCA. This happens because it's allowed due to freedom of speech and right to an opinion and so on. I dare many of you to go on a Mariah page on facebook and Twitter to post all that negativity. See what happens. (Monday 16 March 2015; 20:05)
MC (50,945)
by Jay from USA
I don't get why some want her to be something she's not. Or at least that's how interpret it. We ask that she sounds like she did in the 90's. That may never happen again. Some of us want her to go back and did pop songs she did in the 90's and criticize her r&b /hip-pop songs. Why don't we just take her as she is? Move on if it's not your bag anymore. And pop in the Music Box/Daydream/Emotions cd and relive the splendor, if that is what you want. I don't understand the feeling that she'll be different at Sony. It's not like Tommy and Walter are still there. She's there because of the guy from Island. I totally forgot his name. (Monday 16 March 2015; 19:57)
Glove (50,944)
by Luke from United Kingdom
Some new pics of Mariah just surfaced on Twitter and she looks amazing. I have always been confused about the glove though haha. However, I actually think I'm getting used to it. Especially the black biker one she wears, which makes her look edgy. Does anyone know what the one glove thing is about? I thought maybe it was to do with her accident but that was a while ago. (Monday 16 March 2015; 19:39)
HRC thoughts (50,943)
by Dove from USA
I just saw the clip of her performance and I enjoyed it a lot. I liked her speech too, it sounded heartfelt and genuine. I love Mariah Carey so much. She's so glamorous and like a living doll but with a beautiful soul. Sidenote: Sorry about my weird "vision" post this morning. I had just woken up. I was still halfway asleep and feeling extra cheesy. If MC knew me I think she would think I was "schmaltzy" because I can be a cheese-fest. (Monday 16 March 2015; 19:38)

Hero (50,941)
by Jenny from South Africa
I personally feel like she sang it well. It wasn't 90's standard but I still think it was a solid and enjoyable performance. I don't think she lipped the climax. She didn't hide her face behind her hand or turn away and we all know those are the usual lipping signs for MC. Her voice was clear all through the song. (Monday 16 March 2015; 17:43)
The introduction before the performance / Amber (50,940)
by Orkun from The Netherlands
What I think of the performance is obvious I'm sure. I prefer skipping talking about that. What I wish is that her speech before her performance had more depth to it. It seemed too casual and too regular. A powerful speech would have had a big impact. Lost oppertunity. Amber makes a valid point, calling this The Charmbraclet era. I don't think Mariah is there yet and I'm crossing my fingers for Vegas. (Monday 16 March 2015; 17:08)
Leave Mariah alone (50,939)
by Abraham from USA
You criticize her when she lips, then criticize when she sings live. The performance wasn't her best but it wasn't terrible. A little hoarse but that's nothing new. You think Mariah doesn't know how her own voice sounds. She's doing Vegas for a reason. And how everything turns out is on her and her team. But there's no need for all the bashing. If she isn't up to your standards anymore, just stop being a fan and wasting your time posting here. (Monday 16 March 2015; 16:50)
M's spiel at HRC (50,938)
by Lee TS from USA
How adorable was she? A touch of diva yet a very nice intro to the song. Not trying to make any excuses for anything but she sounds like she either has a cold or a tad bit tired. She did "preface" it by saying she's been in the studio. Anyway, a great event and a nice moment for M and the lambs. (Monday 16 March 2015; 16:00)
Addition to last post (50,936)
by Dove from USA
I wanted to clarify something about my last post. Each person has free will to create their own destiny. The vision I have (or that you have) for her life and career may not be the same as the vision MC has for herself. Her vision will win out. I just like to put my vision out there because she might like it and accept it. It would be easier to know what to pray for if we knew what her vision was. I guess we could pray that her vision is realized if it's God's will. (Since the infinite intelligence knows the big picture and what's best better than us.) Side note: Not all Sony artists have the scary symbolism in their videos some of you mentioned. I don't think Adele does and I haven't seen it in any of L.A. Reid's artists. I don't watch them over and over, though, so I may be wrong. (Monday 16 March 2015; 15:44)
Faith / Amber (50,935)
by Dove from USA
I woke up with so much faith this morning. I opened my eyes and noticed the flowers that grow outside my window. It made me think about how they weren't there before and now they are. There is a process that makes flowers grow and bloom, but if we don't understand the process, it seems as if they appeared out of thin air. That's kind of how faith works. If we collectively focus on a vision, if we believe and are enthusiastic about it, it will manifest sooner. Those of you who also want to see MC rising from the ashes to reclaim her place in the music universe, please believe and think positive thoughts. Sometimes I also fall into negative thoughts but starting now I'm going to try to focus on a perfect vision. My desire is for MC to be well and healthy in every aspect. For her career to sky rocket and for her voice, music, and person to inspire the world to be love and a light to others. (Kind, forgiving, calm, gentle, patient, helpful, brave, faithful, encouraging, etc.) Amber, the energy you put out for others will come back to you. Please be careful with your thoughts. I say this to you because the things you are saying are nowhere near true and I wonder why you're saying them. (Monday 16 March 2015; 15:26)
My wish for Vegas (50,934)
by B from USA
I hope Mariah sings like she did when she sang Looking In and My All at the MLB Charity Concert in Central Park. Her vocals were husky and impassioned. She also did a good job at the HRC benefit. I'm not worried about Vegas. She's a professional. (Monday 16 March 2015; 15:25)
Deedre / Andrew / Jon (50,933)
by Dove from USA
Deedre, I love your post (50,924) and agree with it. Andrew, I enjoy reading your posts now too. Before I felt they were abrasive and hurtful, but now they make me laugh. I realize now that's just your sense of humor, like Howard Stern and Simon Cowell. I appreciate your descriptive and well written observations and I don't feel like you hate Mariah anymore. Jon, I'm like MC that way, just call my name and I'll be there. (But I've been doing a bunch of extra shifts lately so it actually may take a few days.) (Monday 16 March 2015; 15:20)
