Mariah music helps (48,029) by radhames from Curacao
Wauw Jono, it feels good to see another lamb going through a heartbreak simultaneously. And yes, her music helps. These are the songs that helps me make it through the this "difficult" time of my life; Breakdown, Someday, Shake It Off, Can't Take That Away (remix). PS: This if my first post.

Subtle Invitation (48,028) by B from USA
Mariah wrote that song about Derek Jeter. It's filled with references to the other songs she's written about him. Mariah needs a man like Jeter in her life, not a boy like Nick. Mariah is still the best and she's better off without Nick. He just can't keep his mouth shut. I think his loose lips are to blame for the demise of their marriage. He's so insecure because he has no real talent. He makes controversial comments to remain in the news.

Mariah's magic (48,027) by Jono from USA
Hey lambily. I'm not sure why I'm writing this here, but I've always felt safe around fellow fans which is why I'm sharing this. Unfortunately right now I'm going through a bit of a heartbreak. I've been listening to a lot of Mariah, more so than usual, and it's helping so much. This is why I fell in love with Mariah, because she just knows how to write songs that everyone can connect to. Regardless of our differing opinions, we all love Mariah dearly because there was a point in our lives where we heard that one song that just spoke to us, and made us feel like her writing could heal us. This is why she'll always have that true intimate connection with fans, because the lyrics are from her. I just wanted to share. I love you all.

So Def Jam is Sony 2.0 and Team Mariah's going rogue? (48,026) by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
So this Instagram post is quite the revelation. "Well if Def Jam aint gonna push any records well I guess we gotta do it on our own. [...]. We like this premise, not the no support from your label BS, but the go-getter moxy and confidence it takes to want your hard work to her recognition. A thousand times yes. I'm personality here for it 120% mulatto. Is this past of the big announcement, the revenge of MIAMTEC?

Something worth noting (48,025) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
Mariah has more achievements throughout her whole career so far than what most lesser artists will ever see in their entire lifetime, but since it's pretty much the holiday season already, can we just take a moment to realize how rare it is to have written the most popular Christmas song today? Other than George Michael, Mariah is the only other (contemporary) artist who can say that they will always chart on iTunes every year because they have come up some of the very few modern Christmas classics that never fail to get massive airplay every freaking year. If that isn't relevance then I don't know what is. Makes me so proud.

Subtle Invitation (48,024) by Billy from Greece
Can we discuss once more about the masterpiece "Subtle Invitation" is? I get blown away every time I hear it, 12 years later.

H.A.T.E.U - Remix ft Oj Da Juiceman, Big Boi, Gucci Mane (48,023) by Will from England
Shout out to this fantastic remix from Memoirs that sadly never really saw the light. I love that she re-sang that song and the whistle notes in the background. It's just great and I love it. But I wish it was available to buy.

In music, if you write the melody of the song and not the lyrics of the song, you are considered a collaborator. You're collaborating with the person who writes the lyrical content. In the music industry, collaborators are given co-writing credit because they create the melody. The melody and lyrics are the song. Most collaborators are also producers meaning after the song is written by both the lyrical writer and melody writer, they begin to create the music for that song. For Mariah, she co-collaborates and she composes. Co-collaborating is mostly the reason why she is considered a cowriter. However, it is also known that she has cowritten lyrical content as well. Mariah is also the sole executive producer of her own record. She speaks directly to the corporate excutives. That power helps sustain her status of writing her way. She is always going to be credited writing because she writes a lot more than letting someone else assist. If people think she doesn't write her music, then they don't understand the concept of how to make music.

Atlantic residency (48,020) by B from USA
Mariah's album sold over 100,000 copies with no promo and its lead single was a hit. #Beautiful went Platinum. Mariah is still relevant. I think a residency would do more harm than good. It would make her look like a woman who is irrelevant and she's not. She needs to hire the trainer that whipped her into shape during the E=MC2 era and release a new album that features a couple Urban EDM songs as singles. Mariah needs to release an album like Emotions using the producers of the moment for the club bangers and Happy Perez, Miguel, Bruno Mars, and The Smeezingtons for the ballads and midtempos. JD and Cox are past their prime and I get that they created some iconic songs together but she needs to move on or she'll become irrelevant.

Mariah Carey and Taylor Swift's "1989" (48,019) by Prince Lodestar from Indonesia
Anyone notices some of Taylor Swift's songs on her new album are lightly inspired by Mariah Carey? From my POV, here are some songs:
1. Shake It Off, which is obviously, the title is the same (though the song is entirely different).
2. Style, the melody of the chorus reminds me a lot of Money ($ * / ...)
3. Stay, the "Stay" part is really similar to "Cry" in Cry.
Is there anyone who has the same opinion as me?

The 9 biggest divas in the history of forever (48,017) by B from USA
E. Online's list is a joke. Beyonce isn't a bigger diva than Mariah. A diva is a phenomenal singer. Bey can sing but Mariah can sang. Mariah deserved the #1 spot on that list. What a travesty.

Mariah's last two albums (48,013) by B from USA
Memoirs was repetitive. Each song sounds alike, with the exceptions of Languishing and Obsessed. Mariah deciding to work exclusively with The Dream and Tricky is why. Me. I Am Mariah. . . The Elusive Chanteuse is a return to form for Mariah. It's Mariah doing what she does best. MIAMTEC was praised by critics. It got some of the best reviews of her career. Mariah doesn't need to make any drastic changes to her music or sound. She just needs to work with Calvin Harris or Bruno Mars for her next lead single and she'll score that elusive #1. Radio DJ's are pissed that Mariah has more #1's than Elvis and they don't want to see her top The Beatles. Sad but true. I've been told I'm a walking Mariah Carey encyclopedia, lol. Mariah's legacy is intact. Even if she never sings another note she'll go down in history as The Voice. I hope that during her lifetime she gets acknowledged for her songwriting talent. She's the lyricists of our generation. Say what you want but Mariah has the best voice, even in it's current condition, in history of modern music. Her only competition was Whitney and she didn't have half of Mariah's range.

Name-calling (48,011) by Billy from Greece
Although I could not care less for Wendy Williams, calling her "drag queen" or "man-like" or things pertaining to a non-conforming gender identity is disrespectful towards people that are actually non-conforming. You're basically using it as an insult, which is a clear display of both sexism and homophobia. Please keep it in mind and find more politically correct ways to throw shade if you will.

Howard Stern (48,010) by Lee TS from USA
I actually like Howard and I think he's hilarious, his humor can be crude and ridiculous but it's an acquire taste. I know he and Mariah had their moments but I would actually love for her to go on his show and do an interview. Say what you want about Howard but he's an incredible interviewer. I've listened to many of his interviews with celebs and he gets them to talk. If he can tame himself a little or not, and I think he has enough respect for Mariah for what she's achieved in her career, we would get to learn so much more about her. This would be very unlikely though.

Me I Am Mariah... The Songwriter (48,009) by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
I also really want Mariah to write an entire album by herself, meaning no co-writers even on the melodies or at the very least half of the material. I don't mind her co-producing though. Diane Warren has had the same guy tweak her songs and make them into well produced demos without taking any writing credit for decades I wanna say. I'm sure he gets generously compensated for his work or it wouldn't have lasted as long as it has. Mariah could do the same for at least one of her albums. It's really the only way non lambs will be permanently shut up instead of repeatedly omitting her name as the songwriter to her own songs unfortunately. But really, I enjoy Mariah immensely when it's just her voice, a piano and a few layered background vocals with minimal production, from VOL and Vanishing to Cry and Camouflage. Those kind of songs also tend to be her most personal. Mariah must already have a few albums worth of songs and ideas she never collaborated on. She's so freaking prolific it's ridiculous. We have ourselves an embarrassment of riches when it comes to her. We're really very lucky.

Mariah's lyrical subject matter (48,008) by ADAM from USA
Thank you Darryle so much for you post. You've hit the nail on the head on exactly my sentiments for a long time that Mariah should write more songs about subjects others than love. I love her obscure songs like Looking In, Outside, The Wind, Close My Eyes to name a few. I don't think there are enough songs out there in popular music by popular artists that represent anything other than love and lust. When I listen to Make It Happen or There's Got To Be A Way, it gives me chills because I can feel the passion and urgency in her voice and the vivid story telling of her lyrics are so powerful that after many years since its inception, these songs are still resonant enough to get me past hard times in 2014. I really hope she gets inspired again to create these kinds of songs with important messages to help other people and perhaps herself again.

My MC 2015 fantasy wish list (48,007) by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
We've been hearing about things that either never come to fruition, get sabotaged or don't get promoted for decades now. So just for fun I'm putting together a lil list of all the things I wish are gonna be Mariah's big announcement for 2015 and or beyond.
1. A European residency in London to celebrate her 25th anniversary.
2. Carbonated Butterfly drink released internationally using Thirsty as promo.
3. An annual Christmas Broadway show written and produced by MC.
4. The Bond theme, performed, written and produced by MC and a cameo role on screen. I think Bianca needs to dust off her wig for this one.
5.The debut album re-released with the original demos, live performances and unleseased tracks or remixes.
6. An autobiography, maybe as a three-part book series? Childhood - The Sony years - Post Glitter.
7. A cable miniseries about her life using the books as a template.
8. Crave Records 2.0 and an HBO tv documentary chronicling the journey of MC mentoring new artists and maybe giving forgotten one's a new chance.
9. A Christmas movie produced and written by MC with old and new music where she plays at least one of the characters.
10. A DVD to commemorate her 18 US #1's with video commentary on every song and how it came to be from inception to charting. Also, funny anecdotes in the bonus features and guest appearances with her collaborators through the years.
What do you guys wish Mariah's big 2015 announcement will be about?

Last thoughts on Wendy (I hope) (48,006) by Darryle from USA
I think I'm completely done with Wendy. Every thing out of her incredibly mannish mouth is utter garbage. Just like her show. She's got nothing positive to say about Mariah or anyone else for that matter unless it benefits her. She's been called out by so many people for hating and she continuously denies it by kissing butt so that she can get those people on her show. But the moment they're off she goes back to talking trash. Baby I would say that she looks like Howard Stern in a wig but that's an insult to Howard.

Mariah and lyrics (48,005) by Darryle from USA
I love Mariah's lyrics. I think she's one of the greatest lyricist of all time, but does anyone else wish she would tackle more socially conscious lyrics. She's done it before. I really just want more songs like There's Got To Be A Way, Outside, Petals, The Wind, FLAB, Twister etc. Songs that don't deal with love or breakups. Songs that deal with whats going on in the state of the world today. I want her to write about topics like race and poverty. I know she's got an opinion on it so why not share?

Darryle and Nikki / Williams (48,004) by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
Can you believe I forgot all about that thirsty chick? Talk about 15 minutes of shame. When will these bishes learn not to come for Mariah for no reason? It never works out in their favour. Ever. The Wendy Williams' buttkissers should let her know that. Her audience is something out of "The Wave", they never question any of her contradictory reporting. I guess it helps when you have the collective memory of a single goldfish. Wendy lies with the ease of a sociopath and I find that disturbing. She's really just Howard Stern with a wig on.

Wendy's transparent lies (48,003) by Isabelle from USA
You know Wendy be lying when she said Mariah Carey wanted to do her show. Isn't odd that she announces it the week when Andy revealed about it in his book. Wendy would have said something about it long time ago then. And why would Mariah want to go to her show for the first place? To promote what? Mariah's album previous release date would have been during when Wendy's show would be on its summer break. Plus was she planning on promoting something she would have ended up going to Michael and Kelly, The View or The Talk are really supportive towards Mariah. Wendy is just looking for something to drag Mariah to make herself good.

Wendy Williams / divadom (48,002) by Lee TS from USA
Wendy has a love/hate relationship with Mariah and it's so fickled. Wendy is my guilty pleasure and she does get really messy but that's what makes it entertaining. Besides the seating arrangement (which we all know is not true because Mariah's side is her right), Wendy actually stood up for Mariah on her hot topics today. She said Mariah can sing better than most on her worst day, looks good even with the weight gain, and will do fine without Nick. She even threw in Mariah's infamous "I don't know her" shade when talking about Aretha. Now, I love MC with all my heart but I wish she would tone down her diva antics just a bit. I can't even say she likes to play up the image for the public anymore. Prime example would be the Breakfast Club interview, she was team too much. This is going to sound so bad but let's keep the festive celebrations to a minimum until there's actually something to celebrate about. Splash on that.

Wendy's bulls*** (48,001) by Marissa from USA
Wendy wants her name attached to Mariah's so bad that she feels the need to lie about rejecting Mariah. Lmao. All she did was try to pass Andy Cohen's story off as her own. Pathetic as usual.
(Friday 21 November 2014; 4:20)
Adam (48,000) by Abraham from USA
I pity you for actually believing that drag queen. Mariah did no such thing. Like she'd actually want to go on that show. Mariah wants nothing to do with Wendy. The woman has lost it. She's pathetic, not to mention a sorry movie producer. Anyone see the "Aaliyah" movie? It sucked. Also Adam, there was nothing wrong with the "Watch what happens live" interview. It was good, and Andy spoke very well about Mariah and enjoyed having her on.
