About MusicfanJ from Germany: I'm a fan of Mariah since Daydream came out.

Re: Heartbreaker question (90,700) (90,701) by MusicfanJ from Germany
No, when I watch it now I find it childish too. But back then I was childish too and it did suit perfect at that bubble-gum pop time in 99. But it's still a good one. It's just fun.

Re: Bizarre campaigns (90,681) (90,682) by MusicfanJ from Germany
Haha it's really funny. I only saw Mariah running at the short clip from the "Fresh Air Fund" where she's running with the kids.

Re: Article: The 25 best singers-turned-actors (90,662) (90,663) by MusicfanJ from Germany
Completely agree. But J.Lo is actually a dancer. Lol. I mean she started in the Janet Jackson video as a dancer. The list seems like a joke.

Will Smith at 22 really? One number behind Justin Timberlake. A very strange list. Cher, Will Smith and Barbra Streisand are top 5.

Re: "Against All Odds" with Westlife / video (90,649) (90,651) by MusicfanJ from Germany
Yes I love that look too. So natural and beautiful. For me that's the "real" Mariah.

Re: Played on the radio (90,647) (90,650) by MusicfanJ from Germany
"Hero", "ABMB", Without you" and "We belong together" gets played quite a lot too. Followed by "Against all odds" and "IWTKWLI". On the urban radio stations you can also hear some remixes and "newer" songs. On Christmas the radio plays "AIWFCIY" endlessly plus almost every single from "MC". From "MC II" they often play "Oh Santa" and "One Child".

Re: Chart manipulation (90,631) (90,637) by MusicfanJ from Germany
I don't know the price from the US market but in Germany all her singles were at regular prices when they were released. The same with the albums, definitely not cheap.

Re: MC's tone (90,629) (90,636) by MusicfanJ from Germany
Great explanation of the different tones of the albums. I like that Mariah sounds different on all the three mentioned albums.

Re: Tommy cried to Beautiful Ones (90,610) (90,611) by MusicfanJ from Germany
The same here. By the first listen it didn't get me. But later, I recognized what a great masterpiece this song really is. Then I had it on repeat too. The end of the song is everything. If Tommy did cry, it's totally understandable.

Article: Homer Panteloglou still reeling from Mariah (90,559) by MusicfanJ from Germany
Isn't it nice to read? I really enjoyed reading it, what a nice story. Mr. Panteloglou will never forget meeting her for sure. I always dreamed about meeting her in "real life" like every fan and still do. The idea with the cooking book is super sweet. I love reading those experiences when normal people meet her and get a chance to talk a little bit. Shows that Mariah isn't a diva 24/7.

Re: MC in France, 1990 (90,541) (90,542) by MusicfanJ from Germany
Thanks vor the link. Just stunning in every way. So natural, so beautiful and the voice is blowing me away. I love the young and shy MC. Very sweet. Someone wrote at the end she had the "Daydream smile". I recognized it too, how I love that smile. What a lucky audience who have witnessed that special time.

Re: The new Jerry O'Connell show (90,523) (90,528) by MusicfanJ from Germany
The comment from Whoopi doesn't bother me at all. I love Whoopi as an actress. I don't know how she's as a person but I always thought she was cool, because she doesn't seem like the superficial Hollywood ones. Maybe the chemistry between her and MC is just not so good. But isn't Mariah always saying that her favorite movie is "The colour purple"?

One Sweet Day / Daydream (90,515) by MusicfanJ from Germany
I'm listening to this beautiful song right now and also it's not a song I listen daily, because it's so sad, I do miss those kind of songs. The "Butterfly" album may be her best as an artist, more creative with great lyrics, great videos and so on. But "Daydream" will always be my favorite. Maybe it's because it made me a fan of Mariah back in 95. Great memories. I will never forget how I thought this is an angel singing.

Re: Tik Tok challenge (90,503) (90,505) by MusicfanJ from Germany
I don't know all the challenges, it's nothing for my age. Lol. But I always love Mariah in jeans and T-Shirt. She looks great in casual clothes.

Re: Old Town Road (90,477) (90,483) by MusicfanJ from Germany
Yes Terna, I asked myself the same. "What happened to the magic? Where did it up and leave to? Music used to inspire and move people, now it only gives a headache. It's sad." I'm happy to have a big collection too from Mariah and all the other true musicians. A cd or vinyl is so much more worth than just a click on a streaming platform.

Re: 16 Weeks (90,475) (90,480) by MusicfanJ from Germany
Completely agree. The quality on the streaming charts are so poor now. I had to google the song because the German radio stations don't play it/or not often (maybe on the young/fm). To compare that song with OSD is ridiculous. When OSD was released the radio stations played it on my German radio station every hour, I swear. That time was heaven to be a Mariah fan. I have no problem that Mr. Nas X and the country singer broke MC's record because that song is nothing that will last. Just compare the lyrics. When Mariah starts to sing: Sorry I never told you, goosebumbs guaranteed. And yes I love Boyz II Men, one of the best artists at that time in 95/96 for sure. Real rnb from the heart. I wonder if a ballad or a slow song has a chance today to be on number one. (When it's not from Adele, Bruno Mars or Ed Sheeran.) Maybe a movie song?

Re: Old Town Road (90,456) (90,463) by MusicfanJ from Germany
I just watched it on YouTube and all that comes to my mind is that it's nothing special even if it's something "new" with the rap and the country influences. Ok for the radio, if you listen to it besides. The video is funny but that's it. Seems to be a one-hit wonder like Gangnam Style, Despacito and so on. I understand that Mariah won't be part of a remix. [Webmaster: Psy is not a one-hit wonder.]

Re: New album (90,452) (90,460) by MusicfanJ from Germany
As always I love your ideas Bill. Yes for the Christmas album. I would also spend the money for the St. John the Devine concert plus the interviews and all the extras. I want the rare things to be officially released in good quality. And please her debut with all the rare and unreleased songs, remixes, plus the duets and then I would be in lambily heaven.

Ed Sheeran with Justin Bieber will break the record.

Re: Fly abandonedly into the rainbow (90,427) (90,433) by MusicfanJ from Germany
Oh Andrew I never thought of the "theme thing" until now. You're right it's a bit weird with the third person. Superstars like to talk about themselves as a third person? I don't know.

Re: Caution / world tour record (90,340) (90,342) by MusicfanJ from Germany
I love Bill's suggestions too. I wonder why her record label can't release something just for the fans. Her early years are more than phenomenal and if I think of all the unreleased songs, demos and interviews I really wish Mariah would give us this "package". It's time.

Re: Caution / world tour record (90,337) (90,338) by MusicfanJ from Germany
I also think that won't happen. The Charmbracelet tour would have been so great on DVD, it's really a wasted opportunity.

Re: Rumor has it... (90,290) (90,292) by MusicfanJ from Germany
No TJ you are not the only one. I was thinking exactly the same. The interview was so boring. Has she nothing else to tell? I know it's just a beauty magazine but it was indeed a bit weird to read and nothing new. To say something positive I like the cover.

Re: Twitter game (90,245) (90,249) by MusicfanJ from Germany
"A dude dressed up as marshmallow." Haha so true I even had to google him to know what he is doing. He does the typical trendy music right. I heard one song with Bastille. Anyway I think the costume is one reason why the kids love him. And I always love a fun and relaxed MC too.

Re: Katy Perry shading Mariah in 2014 (90,225) (90,233) by MusicfanJ from Germany
I just heard a new Katy Perry Song "Never really over" song on the radio. Now my ears are hurting. Seriously what an annoying song. That has nothing to do with music. Pop at its worst. She never had a voice but some early songs were ok and fun because of the production, but nothing that will stay and you want to hear for a longer time.
