I would have to add Til The End Of Time and Do You Think Of Me to those as well. Physical vs digital (43,038) by Lee from UK I used to be a hardcore collector of Mariah's physical singles and albums; both CD and vinyl. This was mainly so I could hear the remixes which often contained extra vocals or backing vocals. When the music industry began shifting to digital singles, I always felt uneasy about it because I enjoyed having a hard copy with the cover art and the credits right there in front of me and I could see my collection. I always felt I was missing out by purchasing the singles and albums digitally. These days, however, I couldn't care less about hard copies as digital singles don't lose their sound quality and they are backed up and don't get scratched etc. I just wish some of Mariah's older 12" remixes were available on iTunes so I could recreate my physical collection digitally. I know I could rip the songs to my computer but the quality is never the same. Does anyone else feel the same way? (Tuesday 29 April 2014; 22:19)

Magazines (43,037) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter In the last 4 days Mariah has been on 4 magazine covers. I'm happy so see that she's getting covers again. I hope she's on the cover of more magazines leading upto the album release. But she should seriously do some photoshoots. Apart from the wonderland cover all the others are old pictures. Just a few more days untill May 6th. I don't know whether the album will be released on schedule or not but I sure am excited. I may get annoyed every now and then but I love Mariah dearly, her songs have really helped me through many times, be it happy or sad, so I'll always support her. Hope (43,035) by Twisterman from Brazil I hope this album has deep lyrics like many old songs. Besides getting forward to hearing something unique that only Mariah can do I eagerly await your lyrics. I confess that lately I have not impressed me so much, but I know that MC is light years ahead of many, and I know this time I'll be proud of her again. Of all the songs, one that stands out is Petals. In various ways, in different situations, I've been identified with this music and lately has been no different. Questions? (43,033) by B from USA According to Showbiz 411 columnist Roger Friedman Mariah played the record for IDJ last summer in London and they loved what they heard and now they release a statement contradicting comments she made to Billboard Magazine, the music industry bible. I know there have been some changes going on at IDJ but to flat out disrespect an artist of Mariah's caliber while she's promoting a project you're financing and releasing seems pointless, like we don't have faith in her oh by the way buy the album. The new era (43,030) by Bill from the UK If this new era becomes more successful than TEOM, hell, even more successful than Daydream, and Mariah rocks up enough number ones to smash all records, all you naysayers will be praising it as a return to glory and you'll be so glad she waited for the album to be right before releasing it. Her music is the soundtrack of my life in so many ways. Everything Fades Away, Slipping Away, Looking In, Side Effects, I Wish You Well, Close My Eyes, Petals, Through The Rain, Alone In Love, After Tonight, Can't Let Go, Make It Happen, Never Forget You are just a few songs from her that speaks to my spirit on a personal level. Mariah Carey fans (43,024) by Bradley Zirker from United States It is so funny to see how everybody is talking shit about the direction Mariah is going in her career and yet I bet when her album finally comes out, all of you are going to be praising her voice up to the sky. Now don't get me wrong, I love Mariah but yes, I am a little tired of waiting for this album. I am anxious just like the rest of the fans out there. I like her and think she is slowly coming into her own. I do think she is often imitating MC but time is her friend to find her own artistry. I did show concern for Mariah on radio with this new album should it ever be released only because if an artist sounds similar to her (vocally), it could be harder to be played. The Today Show Toyota Concert series (43,021) by clueey23 from USA They just announced that MC will kick it off 5/16/14. Something is just telling me that this era is gonna be something special at the end of the day. I just want MC to sing all new material. I don't wanna hear "We Belong Together" or "Hero" or anything from the 90s on this concert performance. Lol. I think that if she kinda moved away from huge songs from the past she would be able to draw more attention to the new material instead of deflecting with "Always Be My Baby". IDJ (43,019) by Stephen from London, United Kingdom Oh my, it's all turning into one huge mess. Mariah and IDJ have been having differences of opinion for a while. However, this album has been years in the making, and yet they've not sorted it out yet. IDJ obviously feel threatened by an initial iTunes only release. If such a release strategy was to take off, it means the record company becomes less important, because there is less reliance on the company for distribution etc. Whilst I don't think a "surprise" iTunes release would be a great move for Mariah in terms of sales, I would like her to do it, with or without IDJ's permission, just to annoy them and make a point. In the unlikely event that it generated buzz for her album, and this sales, then that would be the icing in the cake lol. (Tuesday 29 April 2014; 11:49)

Ariana Grande (43,018) by Antonio from Spain I think that some lambs have been incredibly harsh on Ariana Grande without any reasons. I like Ariana a lot, I've listened to her Yours Truly album several times and I'm a hardcore Mariah fan and I don't see those many similarities. Yes, she can do the whistle, whatever, and "The Way" is reminiscent of some Mariah songs, yeah, okay. She's been influenced by Mimi because she has always looked up to her, I don't think she is trying to be the next Mariah and I feel bad for her for all the comparisons she is getting just because she is reminiscent of Mariah. Actually, I love the fact that they are making sure that she is known for her vocals. Move on and let that girl shine and enjoy the success she deserves because we all now she is far more talented than the singers of her generation, she doesn't need to take her clothes off. It just makes me so mad. Why so much hate? I completely respect that some people don't like her, but sometimes their opinions sound way inmature. Love to you all, family. Not a full album (43,017) by Orkun from The Netherlands Beautiful, TAOLG and You're Mine are on the album. We are only waiting to hear 7-8 songs more. I don't expect new stuff happening on the album. It's gonna be the same old repitition. I don't get a creative feeling from this album at all. I'm even angry with almost everything that's been going on. Damage controle? How far can you stretch it? Excite-a-tivity (43,016) by nikki from usa From what I gathered, MC didn't say it would be a "surprise" release. She said it would be digital and Def Jam said it would also be a physical commercial release on the same day. What MC said that was exciting - was like Beyonce - by releasing it digitally, we'll get that material all at once and be able to decide the singles. Finally. If she lets the fans decide the singles as a loophole to all this ish IDJ has been releasing than MC found her pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. We'll be able to get the songs on radio that we want to hear. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Mine had great potential, but I think this was more of IDJ encouraging MC to recreate WBT than it was a natural choice MC would've made on her own. Joy Ride (43,012) by ACMRitz from United States What if all this confusion and contradiction is simply fuel to the surprise element? Everyone is trying to stir up confusion so that no one really expects when the album comes out. (I am not saying it's the wisest strategy.) I don't want to directly answer to anyone but I don't think we should rush Mariah to put an album out at our convenience, so what if she takes 1 or 5 or 10 years? She can release it when she feels it's ready (as long as it's allowed on the contract). As someone else said, at least she didn't have us cold turkey for all this time without new music. She's given us samples, whether you liked them or not. I honestly cannot wait for the release of this new album, I check this website everyday along with twitter for any updates. "Negativity" / let's be real (43,010) by Marissa from USA As far as the people who are irritated with the "negativity" on this messageboard, in an era where we have been completely out of the loop and given countless mixed messages and not necessarily the best music compared to the past, it has honestly been a struggle to find the silver lining in this. The best things about this era to me were her outfits on American Idol, #Beautiful and her last impromptu performance. From You're Mine's release to now has turned into a debacle. No one is on a mission to be negative, but when you have no information at all it only highlights the many issues of this era, thus it ends up being talked about. As far as the whole "if the lambs don't buy this album, millions of others will" thing, let's be real. This is not '05. You think the general public is going on a scavenger hunt for more info? No one would endure this stuff but the lambily because people don't have this kind of patience. Especially since these big articles are having confusion over the release date and no new info, the gp is most likely over it. When you confuse them, they move on and buy someone else's album. After lukewarm singles, the lambily is the target audience. If you don't catch the gp with hot singles, they could give a f*** about the album. (Tuesday 29 April 2014; 1:26)

Girl has sold stupid amounts of singles and albums, had successful world tours, generated conversation about her voice (for better or worse) and had 18 American number one singles. This is Mariah Carey. She may not be who or what people here want her to be, but she is an enigma, a woman who knows what to do and how to do it, but says screw it, I'll do what I want. I not only admire her, I applaud her and implore her not to change. So few will ever come close to achieving a tenth of what my idol has achieved, so to every naysayer I say [censored] it. Mariah did it her way. And judging by her behaviour, she loves it like that. And whether you folks buy the record or not, there will always be at least one who will buy her work and love her.
