Well it's official (43,007) by Randy from USA
I'm laughing at all the fans that said, "No, it's coming May 6, calm down and be patient." I love MC dearly and I will buy the album, but I think I knew when YME flopped and there was no immediate follow up, we would be waiting. But no, according to the "real fans" I was being "negative". I want MC's success like the next person but even if MC can't tell us what's going on between her and IDJ legally, can we get a new single, video, title, track listing, something on May 6? And listen, I think it's pretty stupid to not buy the album because it's being pushed back, however what the lambily needs to accept is that with all this foolishness, and let's be clear this is foolishness between her and the label not strategy by someone who's been in the business for 25 years, the lambily are the only buyers for this album. Better not piss them off. Throw them something because the general public will not care when or what she releases at this point, as shown by the sales of her last 4 singles.

Sad to say, but... (43,006) by Badr from USA
I might sound too crude, but I guess there's a title that might, unfortunately, fully describe this era: "Mimi headed to commercial Disaster". I think there's something potentially destructive happening between Mariah, IDJ, and J.D.

Island Def Jam (43,005) by G.G. from USA
I've thought for a while now that there is some kind of problem going on with Mariah's label IDJ. Now I'm sure of it. Otherwise why would IDJ come out after her Billboard interview and contradict what Mariah said? I think that a lot of her problems have come from IDJ. I think that IDJ didn't like the material she presented them and refused to release it as it is. That might've been part of the delay from last year. I'm sure after MC's contract is done with IDJ she'll fill us in, but right now she can't speak out against her own label. I'll be glad when MC is done with her contract there and moves to a label that helps her and promotes her properly.

To the people that say they "won't" buy (43,003) by Danny Braden from Uk
Get it off your chests, throw your tantrums because even if Mariah delays by another 100 years you will still buy it or else you wouldn't be posting on here. We all know you will. It's like saying your never gonna eat pizza again after that 12 incher you will.

Well, it's official (43,002) by Will from England
I haven't got the slightest inkling of what's going on anymore. The following basically sums up the last few days of album related news:
Billboard - "It's a surprise release."
IDJ - "It's not a surprise release."
Mariah - "It's an all-at-once release."
IDJ - "It's not an all-at-once release."
Mariah - "It's coming May 6th."
IDJ - "It's coming anytime after May 6th."
Mariah - "The album info will be released at the same time."
IDJ - "We have no idea what's going on. Neither do you."
Jermaine - "The album is done."
Mariah - "That's what you think dahling."
That's what this has essentially boiled down to.

Era unknown (43,001) by MCder from USA
I can understand the frustation about the release of the album delays but great things take time. Yes we all would love a full album from our beloved Mariah but at least she released some material for us to carry us over, whether good or bad, until the album is finally in our grasp. There are things Mariah should clear up in terms of contradictive information by various articles but does she really have to, no. I don't think it's disrespectful to the fan-base to not give all the information about the album because we know that it's coming but give it time. Honestly, Mariah can't please everyone simply because they wanted Ballad-Riah; so she gave us TAOLG and people complained. Prior to that they wanted Urban-Riah so she gave us Triumphant and people definitely complained. No matter how many ways you cut the bread, Mariah legacy is definitely set in stone. Let's take a look at Patti and Aretha. They haven't released material in ages but their fan-bases are appreciative when they grace the stage with performances of older material. Yes Mariah voice has its moment but she is human. Whether you support her or not, she will still be paid.

Billboard interview (42,999) by Gerald from USA by the way of NYC
After reading the billboard interview I feel MC and her team had an initial plan in motion while the label obviously has another plan, which tells me there is trouble behind the scenes with Mariah and Def Jam, which further delayed this album. Hopefully we can get things back on track so we can finally get this album.

If this is true I am going to die (42,998) by Joseh from UK
Really I don't know what to think anymore. I will always support Mimi but what's going on?

Choosing a single off the album (42,997) by Ken from USA
Based off Migrate alone I think the lambs have a good idea what songs are single worthy. I think it would be a great way for the disgruntled lambs to feel involved with the album after so long. What are your thoughts?

Stop (42,996) by B from USA
The media and fans (fans of Bey and MC) need to stop with the claims of copying or ripping off. People know Mariah is releasing an album, they had no clue Bey was. Mariah's surprise is the track listing, art work, and title. Not the album. I love You're Mine (Eternal), if it had been released in 2005 or 2008 it would have been a huge hit #1. I'm shocked it didn't do well on the R&B charts. It's a great song. #Beautiful and You're Mine (Eternal) are great songs. She's still an amazing songwriter and she's still an amazing singer. She'll deliver an amazing album. Her hip hop collaborations will be nothing like Triumphant, she's not stupid. She reads her reviews. After Triumphant she releases #Beautiful. I don't think this is a make or break it album like the Billboard story claimed. I think she's spent the last few months writing strong singles. She's a pop genius and this album is going to proof it, mark my words. Mariah is on fire. Mariah is the queen. Often imitated never duplicated.

SiahhBailon from USA, 100% truth (42,995) by Carlos Jaramillo from USA
I'm with you 100%, girl. I appreciate this site because the webmaster is unbiased. He will post good and bad Mariah mentions, staying true to the point of this site, giving us "all" available access to MC. However, I really wish there would be a rule against negative, ignorant comments or solicitations. No one on this site knows the intricacies associated with this album, its creation or its release. Sure, she gives us all kinds of "excuses" and we want her to tell us the "truth" but, the whole situation may be way more complex and involved than a simple explication could satisfy. If you don't want to buy the album, then don't. Your loss. But don't poison people on here with your ignorant, misdirected anger. How do you say, "I bought every singe Mariah album but, she's pissed me off, I'm not getting this one." If you've been buying MC albums for 20 years and emotionally, this is where you stand with her and her most recent project, you have "a lot" more problems you should be focusing on other than "when Mariah will drop her album" and all the other ridiculous associated ultimatums that have been suggested by these "frustrated", fair weather fans. MC, whenever you decide to put out your album, I will buy it, on day one, just as I have since I was in 10th grade, when I wasn't allowed into English class because my teacher warned me not to skip lunch to go get my Music Box album, as I had solicited to everyone I knew, weeks before its release. I was so grounded that week.

Where is the cohesiveness? (42,994) by Mikey from USA
So apparently there is no all at once release, Island Def Jam states they will go with a traditional approach with pre-order this week and digital/physical copy coming in late May. Billboard had to write a new article stating this. This is a little frustrating and kind of embarrasing, it totally took the momentum from that Billboard article out of it. I was getting excited, now I'm just tired of all this misinformation. I feel like there is a definate lack of communication between Mariah and her label and no one is on the same page. I feel bad for Mariah and for the fans who are caught in the middle and have to deal with all of this back and forth in the dark.

Beyonce (42,993) by Lamb_O_Chop from Australia
Okay what Beyonce did was cute, but if Mariah would've done the same thing in her prime, trust she would've slayed to infinity and beyond . Beyonce is in her grace period right now, meaning everything she touches will turn to gold and she can sell based in her name alone. Just as Mariah was from Mariah Carey up until Glitter. I think that claiming she's copying Beyonce is a lazy headline, because its not a secret album/she's not just dropping it out of nowhere. Besides since when has Beyonce been so original herself, hasn't she borrowed from Mariah (along with Diana Ross Tina Turner, Rihanna, Britney, Ciara etc. etc.) a great deal herself? No shade. So the media need to keep it cute with the whole "doing a Beyonce" bandwagon.

Fan club (42,992) by Gilbert from USA
Hey, anyone know if her official fan club is still running? I was in it back in the days and was just curious if it's still active or not. I went to the official site but didn't see any information.

Thoughts (42,991) by clueey23 from USA
I think this era has shown us a lot about MC's confidence in herself and this project, by taking all the time she needs and not letting anyone speed up her process to get to what may be greatness in this upcoming album. Some on this messageboard always try to create a back story to issues that may not exist. She doesn't really release bad material. Just because a song doesn't blaze up the charts doesn't mean it isn't quality work. That Billboard interview was done a couple of months back. You can't dethrone or discount MC. She is one of the best to ever do it. And I find it a bit comical and annoying that some fans think that she doesn't know what she's doing. She has been in this business like 25 years now. That within itself is nothing short of amazing. I think this will be my last post until after the album is released because you guys bring me down. This era, besides not having a hit single on the Hot 100, is very reminesant of the pre digital era. We had no idea what was going on behind the scenes back in the day. We were just excited to have a new MC album. "Charmbracelet" wasn't a hit album nor did it have any hit singles, yet, it's one of her most cohesive and personal albums. I couldn't really care less about who's not buying this album, that's their business. And I couldn't really care less about it selling crazy numbers or having a number one song on the charts, it's a plus but not a must. But it's going to have that signature MC quality I love.

No need to announce for those who will not buy, there are millions who will by anyway (42,990) by Louie Baltazar from Philippines
For those who will not buy don't need to announce and spread negativity. Mariah's songs thought us positivity so there is no space for neatrons here. There are millions of positive lambs who will support by the way so stop negative comments until you hear the full album. I'm sorry.

The art of letting go (42,989) by Me. I am Carly from USA
This title really is what we lambs need to do at this point. Let go of any control of this situation. I seriously can't imagine not getting the album, but they should include the elephant that has been in the room along with it. Is it possible that Mariah maybe subconsciously be sabotaging herself because she wants to just be a mom and not have any expectations from anybody but her kids and hub? PS. If you find the songs she has released worth a purchase you will like the album, end of story. I like them enough to purchase but look forward to years ahead when she is really focused, maybe when them babies are in school.

Props (42,988) by G.G. from USA
I give props to people with originality and creative abilities, not people who take ideas and try to pass them off as their own. Thirty Seconds To Mars and David Bowie did the surprise release before Beyoncé. Period. She acts like she came up with the idea on her own. She has been called out numerous times for taking video concepts from others and putting her name on song writing credits that belong to others. I don't like unoriginal people who steal.

Wow (42,987) by Anthony Basco from Cardiff, Wales
I really don't understand people here getting so upset about the album release, to the point of threatening to boycot the album. It's really not that deep; it's an album from a music artist. There is no possible reason for anybody to get so upset or angry about this. It's not personal. Some people need to learn to relax and shock horror - buy the album if you like the music, don't buy if it's not your taste. Why the drama and hysterics I'll never know and frankly don't want to. Looking forward to listening to the new album (be it May 6th 2014 or 2024).

My two cents (42,985) by J from USA
Obviously Beyonce wasn't the first to release a surprise album but let's give props where they are due, her album broke records and really in my opinion started a new trend which I believe others will follow in the future. No, Mariah's album release won't be like Beyonce since we already know it is coming but the whole releasing it digitally probably came from Bey's album anyways. Nothing wrong with that.

Damage control (42,984) by TLP from Germany
"The suprise release" is only another strategy to calm down people, because the album will be delayed again (end of May?) and no other arguments or excuses are left. This is gonna be the first MC album I will not buy. To play with someone's expectations is not acceptable. There would be no problem if MC and her team had shut up untill the album would have been really finished and a definitive release date would have been set. At last they only seem to perform damage control.

Surprise (42,983) by Ryan from the Philippines
What the label and Mariah meant about the "surprise" thing was not about the release date. It's all about the album title, cover art, lead single, tracklisting, albumcontent (if it is audio plus video or documentary). It cannot be a surprise release since Mariah has already given a target date. So these magazine must do their jobs correctly. It's not even Beyonce-ish but Ashanti-ish type of release. The label or Mariah has to clear this mess up or else the media won't stop dragging her. It's not always the lambs who will keep defending her. They must also do their job. Nonetheless if they are milking on this issue.

5 things (42,981) by George Golden from UK
1. How amazing does Mariah look with her natural hair colour on that Billboard cover? I never got the " blonde look". It's been too long now, please go back to your natural look. Lol. 2. Please no rap collaborations. It's so overplayed at this piont and it's what turns a lot of your fans away. 3. More uptempo groovy numbers, a few EDM won't hurt at all. People want to have fun and they need feel good music. Bring on those uptempos. 4. No more trashy and tacky videos please. We need videos with a great storyline. Sexy and classy. 5. Come clean about your voice. If you can't really sing live that much, you can say that and avoid some of those questionable live performances. If your voice was damaged, you can say it. It won't hurt you at all. You still have one of the best voices ever. So bring on this new era asap.

Release of the new MC album (42,980) by Sunshine Divalamb from Germany
The funny thing to me is that people really think Mariah is releasing her album Beyonce style. She never mentioned it nor did she mention it's a suprise release. The only thing she said is that she wants to release it digital first because she wants to be the one to reveal the album title and the tracklist seeing it was leaked the first time. The only ones making it into a Beyonce "suprise" release is the press.
