Suggestions (42,765) by Jhonny from Guyana Mariah is a great singer and the best to me. However, Mariah needs to wins fans or fans back. First she needs a new wardrobe, that is dress more elegant and throw away the tight and short dresses. It's not like she must not wear tight and short dresses but she needs to get the attention of media and promote herself so people will know who is Mariah. More public appearances and performances needed. Mariah needs a callobration with a great artist as herself ,maybe a male or a band. She also needs to work on the sound of her music, like more uptempo sounds which is very catchy. People will get more interested in listening to a catchy song than a ballad at this moment. Push back (42,764) by Trish from USA The music and her image have become a complete mess. I still think she's too far removed from reality to have a hit song or album without a major ego check. I have said this before but look at Bruno Mars If I Was Your Man, pretty melody, straight forward lyrics that everyone can relate to and major hit. It would take the 90s Mariah a day in the studio to write and sing something similar but better. She just doesn't understand what people want to hear, people are eating up simple, relatable tracks and it's time she hired someone to help her with lyrics and melody again. Mariah thought TAOLG was "relatable" and what her fans were asking for... really? #Beautiful was the best song I've heard from her in many many years but why the hashtag? I think the hashtag took away from the song and made people roll their eyes before even hearing it. Drinking in interviews isn't helping either, as we all have witnessed. I love Mariah but I'm losing interest in the image she's projecting and the subpar lyrics she's been writing since TEOM was such a big hit. (Monday 21 April 2014; 18:42)

I would honestly like to have Mariah do a serious interview, maybe put together a nice special for the lambs just to explain the era. I am talking an online "special", just a thank you to the fans and with interviews and sets of some favorite songs. I don't think it is about us being entitled at this point, it is about being mislead and I do believe that Mariah needs to be very frank and explain to us what her plans are, is she retiring, is she taking a break, what is going on with her voice ect. So, now with this mess, I blame MC, Jermaine Dupri and the label/Barry Weiss. You can have an excellent product, but if there's bad management involved, it won't do well. I've seen it happen before. The last thing I want is for her to have a breakdown because she is trying to please everyone else. She is obviously under pressure to get this right, and judging by the "blame Mariah" and "shame on her" posts on here, it's her fans who are causing it. Shame on anyone who is selfish enough to demand or hold expectations for an artist's work. We are lucky to be blessed with anything from her. It's Mariah freaking Carey. Take your time Mariah. Take care of yourself and your family. That is and should be your priority. I for one will be grateful if and when you have perfected your creation and are truly ready to share it with the world. Album release (42,760) by Mikey from USA I'm still hopefull it will come out on 5/6. The title of the article is completely unfounded and is just speculation. There have been behind the scenes promo like her Wonderland Magazine cover shoot. I still feel like something is brewing behind the scenes. The only reason I hesitate is that if the singles that were put out were the best the album has to offer so far it's not a good sign. I don't see why they think "We Belong Together" part 15 is a good idea. Maybe they just don't recognize it? I agree with the post below, Mariah should look for something fresh and new. I feel like a lot of times she reproduces a lot of what was successful for her in the past which more times than not comes off as being stale. That said, I still desperately want Walter back. Hero (42,759) by Bill from the UK Last night, and this afternoon, Hero was played on two separate radio stations in the UK. Mariah rarely gets airplay here except for at Christmas time with AIWFCIY, so it is always an unexpected joy to hear her on the radio. Hero sounds so good on the airwaves. I will be disappointed if the album is pushed back, but we have so many great songs from her past catalogue to enjoy in the mean time, let's not forget that. (Monday 21 April 2014; 15:25)

They are afraid the album will bomb without a successful single to promote the album. She will not have a successful single if she doesn't promote it right. The general public isn't interested in her style of music at the moment. I am a hardcore fan and even I'm losing interest. You're Mine was uninspired. A weak attempt at We Belong Together Part 4. My thoughts (42,755) by Nathan from USA Believe it or not, recent events have made me "much more" excited for this album/era than I have been post push-back of 7/23. Here's why. After all the stalls/failed singles, I think the route it appears MC's taking as of late will be best. She's kept mum on everything album related. Now I hear it's disappeared off Islands' and other websites? Nah. This is a bluff if you ask me. Until Mariah herself says it's cancelled, it's not. She's kind of taking the "Beyonce" route. I'm betting on May 6th, or as close to that date as possible, we won't here anything about it. Not a peep. Then boom. We'll get the album available only digitally and as a package and a new single available, artworks, titles, articles. plus promo. Hopefully this is what they'll do. Let's see, but I hope I'm right. She is a perfectionist, she is from my point of view and really as talented as a lot of other artists. It is going to be wow and I really think she wants this. Album push back (42,752) by David from Australia Based on the long silence, it seems the album has been pushed back. I wish people would stop blaming JD though; it's not his fault the album's not ready. Mariah is clearly not finished with the album and understandably doesn't want it to be heard for that reason. I'd rather have her delay the album again, despite how frustrating it might be at the moment, rather than have her release an album that's only half finished just to stick to a date. I'd prefer great quality music in the long run, as opposed to a bunch of incomplete songs just thrown together. (Monday 21 April 2014; 11:45)

And don't tell me about Island or whatever, it's a shame that an artist stays in the studio until dawn the last 2 weeks before the release. After 4 years. Stop blaming management (42,750) by MissunderstoodAngel from United states Hey everyone. Honestly, I think fans need to stop blaming management and blame Mariah herself. She is the one responsible for the set back not her manager (JD). She "in caps lock" was the one who choose to go the dated R&B path, like she always does. It's nothing new. I'm so desperately tired of Mariah putting out the same material over and over. Emancipation was a good R&B throw back, it worked, returned her to the scene. Okay thats nice, now move on already Mariah. Rather than reinvent stuff how about trying a little think to starting fresh. "You're Mine" was just awful. Very dated sound and basic boring repetitive lyrics. The video itself was just as basic and boring as the song. She needs honestly, as crazy as it sounds, to have management that is going to control what she releases. With Mariah in control her career is undoubtedly going to dissipate. The problem is her friends are too afraid to tell her no when it comes to music material. I completely lost all excitement for this era. It hasn't even officially started and it's already 6 ft under. It kept getting delayed over and over and when it finally hit shelves nobody really cared anymore. I hope that the album is not pushed again. I have been going through withdrawal. I need me some new Mariah music. May 6 was perfect as there was no other album being released that would outshine Mariah's. I am disappointed to hear that it may be pushed. Maybe she's going for a new direction, new theme, adding new songs and sound to it. I could understand the delay. "The Art Of Letting Go" has been canceled. She has a new title, new tracks and possibly secretly working with artist like Tamar Braxton, Justin Bieber etc. I personally believe the album is unfinished, even though she might have recorded 20 songs or more. Maybe she's finding the right theme for this era orginal album cover art might have changed. I think May 6 will be a teaser to what's to come with the album. There's no official statement saying there's a push back, but the album's been removed from Hits Daily Double and Island's website. Nostalgia and retro sound (42,741) by Edward from USA The Emancipation of Mimi was epic because of the sound it carried. The nostalgia got hold of people. The album was not only for the new generation, but older people enjoyed it as much. "Mine Again", "Get Your Number", "Your Girl", "Circles", "I Wish You Knew", "Joyride", "Fly Like a Bird" reminded people of what good music was like. Many people in their 50's, 60's and even 70's went and got the album. The older generation shouldn't be underestimated. The album catered to a broader audience, the perfect combination of the young and the not so young. It was cohesive, it was enjoyable, and some critics said that TEOM was the only album out there worth paying $10 for. I'm hoping for her to bring that retro sound again. #Beautiful and TAOLG were steps in a good direction. E=MC2 was the only Mariah Carey album in which the tracks sounded disconnected from each other. They went, as expressed by Mariah, for a collection of radio friendly singles, but that was about it. It played like a greatest hits album. It is a fun album I rarely listen to, but when I go to the gym. (Sunday 20 April 2014; 19:36)

Matthew / Mariah's future recordings (42,740) by Edward from USA Matthew, do you know the process of putting together a song in the studio? I was shocked when I saw it myself. Mariah is able to put this out-of-this-world vocal performances in the studio because the songs are piecemeal together. As she said in an interview on Oprah once: She could be in the studio and hit an stratospheric high note once, and she would say to the guy on the keyboard: "I hope you got that? Because it might not show up again today." It might take a singer many sessions to put a song together piece by piece. Sometimes they just work on a line, then go home and rest. Now, when you're singing live, there's not stop and let's do it again. Mariah could replicate her studio sound when her voice was in top condition, but now it is what it is. Toning down her vocal acrobatics in future recordings would allow her to confidently perform more often without sounding strained. Celine has been singing longer than Mariah, has more albums out than Mariah, combining her French and English albums, has sung almost every night for many years, and even though her voice is not the same, she can still deliver consistency when singing live. I wish Mariah had taken better care of her voice, but it is what it is and I made my peace with it. I will always support her. (Sunday 20 April 2014; 19:15)
