Bad press (41,758) by 123 from USA
So the bad press is starting again regarding her lipping her BET performance. Ugh. Now I've given up on wanting her to sing live, but singing is supposed to be what she is known for. The casual or even non-fans are starting to get hip to what the lambs have known for years. I really liked the performance and I have no clue as to why she would fly all the way to PR when the video playing in the background of the performance was light years better. She needs to do videos where she is acting something out or using some props but never where she is just staring into the camera as she always looks like she is trying too hard. She needs to get to performing this song like, yesterday, and make sure the performances are good. I hope the learned from the messy Beautiful performances. I like the You're Mine and want it to do well.

Isaac is a Regina George (41,757) by Paul from Usa
Remember the movie "Mean Girls"? Now raise your hand if you have ever been personally victimized by Isaac Ortiz. Webmaster and other MCA members, is it me or is Isaac trolling the message board? We all have a right to express our own views and opinions here. If you don't agree fine, hit the thumbs down and explain, but it's not your job to tell people that our views are wrong, and we're mean, and we need to stop being so hard on Mariah etc. If you click on Isaac's profile it's message after message of him correcting people's opinions. It's really annoying and not because he responded to me personally, but the way he attacks everyone who doesn't drop on their knees and praise every thing Mariah does. My 2 cents. Thanks for listening.

Issac (41,756) by Paul from Usa
You should probably go back and re read what I wrote in my post. I praised Mariah alot. You are delusional if you think today's Mariah is up to par with older Mariah, even after 1997. Mariah doesn't have the same work ethics, and enthusiasm as she one did. The last few singles haven't stuck with an audience outside of her "lambs", and the charts prove that. You extreme lambs kept saying, "Wait until the song reaches the radio, it will go number one, it will climb the charts." The song tanked. Isaac you've convinced me that Mariah could belch every song on an entire album, and you'd rush out and buy it. I love Mariah, but I'm not going to buy a single or an album that I do not enjoy. If you received crumby service from a waitress would you tip her, I wouldn't. But maybe you would, because it's only $10, it won't set you back. right? This isn't about setting me back $10 or $5,000. I'm not satisfied as a fan, as a "lamb", as a customer, because that's what we are, customers. She makes music, and she sells her music to us. Hey, you like the song, and the other ones, good for you. But I'm entitled to my opinions just like you are. FYI, it's the webmaster's job to post and enforce the rules of this message board. Not yours.

Chart performance (41,754) by HerLoverboy from New Zealand
I really hope Mariah has something phenomenal up her sleeve because You're Mine (Eternal) just isn't gonna cut it. She has everything going against her including her age and her genre. Unfortunately that's the reality of it so she's gonna have to pull off something mammoth. And knowing Mariah she can and she will.

YME (41,753) by Bump from Greece
While I like YME, I believe it would have been a great album track. An uptempo banger about love, with her singing like a beast would have been amazing and who knows maybe the next single could be along those lines. But I do hope YME has a chance. Such a shame to see her music struggle like this.

I just wanted to say that I like everything tou say in your posts. You seem like a grounded person with common sense, at least that's what I get from your comments. It is nice to have someone on here who says what he thinks in a polite ad constructive manner. Keep it up.

Izaak (41,751) by BakedBoodie from USA
Well I tried to push them buttons, trying to activate some sense in you but you got them old outdated Mariah colored glasses on where even her poop appears "magical" through each lens - obscuring reality - and you bash everyone who don't see what you do. That button down and lit up yet?

BakedBoodie / Danny (41,750) by Isaac Ortiz from USA
No you didn't push any buttons. At least not mine, although your comment made no sense. Are you sure you're not Joyce with another account? Also, the only thing that's hilarious is your avatar pic, lol. So funny. Danny, dude give it a rest. It seems in all your posts you've always stated something negative about Mariah. You sure you're a fan? Mariah has tons of money. She can buy and sell your life.

I'm a fan of Sanaa Hamri's work. I think Mariah should do more with her.

Direction (41,746) by Danny Braden from Uk
At this point it's hard to see the direction this era is going in, I actually think Triumphant started it off fairly good, despite being featured on her own song, it at least stayed true to her. I think AI did no favours for her public image, neither have recent public appearances. I have been a fan for a long time and I say this as a concern that I think Mariah has lost her way. Sorry but to say the last year or so has been positive for her image is a joke. We love her she knows that she just needs to convince everyone else she's ready to come back. I mean The Art Of Letting Go? I still don't know what she's letting go of? Fame? Money? Because she can't be making any.

Bet Honors performance (41,745) by Ms. Giselle from USA
I really liked it a lot. I believe it was live/lipped in certain parts. I agree, she should throw in a lll ad libs (live parts) just to shut people up. Honestly though we fans are use to this, even going back to 2005/2006 she was singing/lipping in her performances too especailly the last note in WBT. With the invention of social media being so huge right now, it's allowed people to be so vocal in public then before. If this was 2005-06 we fans would be discussing this but non fans wouldn't. She looked amazing, Mariah should embrace her age. She looks darn good for being almost 44. I hope and pray I look that good at 44 lol. Because I will have my "cougar hair" lol and my breast out trying to bring the young boys to the yard.

BET Honors (41,744) by Stephen from London, United Kingdom
I enjoyed the performance, but then again, my expectations in terms of Mariah's live showings have been seriously lowered in the past 18 months. Mariah looked stunning. The stage setting was fantastic. It had a classic, golden Hollywood feel. I think Mariah does that look with ease. I enjoyed that element of it. Mariah looked like she sang the song live, but dubbed over the vocals. From the fan recordings I heard, if the original vocals were live, then Mariah should have let it be, because she sounded great.

Comments are hilarious (41,743) by BakedBoodie from USA
Lol, some of [...] comments from specific ones, is just hilarious. Mariah could accidently drop the microphone and they’d say “I love the way she was so emotionally connected in the song, she was overwhelmed and released the microphone, saturated in emotion. Wow, just amazing. I have goose bumps." Meanwhile, a later interview reveals she just simply dropped the microphone by accident. Oops, did I push a few more buttons?

"Hey Joyce" (41,742) by BakedBoodie from USA
Dont listen to them. They don't want nothing fixed as if it aint broke, but the fact is, somthing aint right and needs finxing. Her singles and albums have not exactly been a success. Some, a total flop for real. Any talk about changing it up, trying [...] new, doing something different is just common sense. And don't assume everyone has it. Why would you want to keep mistepping and flopping, over and over again? Why not try something new with the hair, why not try a new look? If [...] was in charge of her look we'd get the same old Barbie gowned and hair Mariah forever, even though it's been played out since 2007. Start the hatingg because the truth does hurt.

Good song (41,741) by Joyce from USA
I like the song and love the very modern elements in the synthisizers and dreamy electric piano. It's very up to date and fresh. I think even timeless. If they can make all of the songs drum beat like the chorus parts and take out the "We belong together" drum beat in the verse, it would have more integrity. That drum beat is very 2006. Instead of invoking recognition of her most recent mega hit of 2006 with traces of elements used already in "We belong together" like drub beat and the singing, holding out the last note of the song in the say key, she should distance herself, her music from such errors. We also have been getting the "2007 Emancipation of Mimi on intimate Tour" image across the board.

Paul (41,740) by Isaac Ortiz from USA
Okay, I'm gonna need you to not be so hard and mean towards Mariah and her music. Referencing her songs as "garbage". Really, that's just wrong. And no, not all of us fans feel the same way you do. Otherwise, I wouldn't be responding to you. I did agree with you about the song "You're mine". But I never put down the song, or stated that it sucks. Also, the singles Mariah has released have been great, or least good. "Triumphant" was good and "Beautiful" and "The art of letting go" are both great. How can you judge or give an opinion on the new album if it hasn't been released? Even if the album isn't good (which I know it will be), I'll still going to not only download it but purchase it as well. 10 bucks at Target out of my wallet is nothing to me. It's Mariah Carey's man. She's the only legendary music artist I like. Other than JT. The album will be good, if not great.

She can do it again (41,737) by Me. I am Carly from USA
Nobody can convince me that anybody can hold Mariah down. The last time I started to buy into that it was a big mistake. The only real difference between this new album and future Mariah albums is Mariah's team/image and her state of mind after becoming a mother and wife. Mariah's performances (when I saw them live) were also up and down with prerecording in the Emancipation era and she had plenty of young competition. But with a marked goal to show up she made the Emancipation era, she pulled in Benny and Leon talley and the big boys and girls of entertainment.

Damn Mariah was smoking at the BET Honors. She's sexy and she knows it. That video playing in the background looked pretty cool too. I wish I could see the entire thing. Bay Area representing we love you Mariah.

Words of encouragement for our MC (41,734) by Brad from USA
Hi lambs. This may be the time for us to harken back to words our MC once chanted to us (if only from the B-side of an import), in order to repeat them back to our MC: "Don't give up, don't never ever give up, don't ever give up." If I could fly to Australia and sing that live to you, MC, I would. Just like you did. And then you packaged it with the beauty of "Underneath the Stars" and brought delight to a "little boy" far, far away who desperately needed it. We believe in you and await the higher perch, for you and us all. With love, be well.

Carly, other talented singers (41,733) by Musti from UK
I agree Mariah used to be much more humble. It's understandable that she has to paint a certain image of herself in the media to keep up the buzz i.e. crazy sexy diva. But she sounds like she feels threatened by other talented singers, especially females. She had an awkward moment with Michael Buble before they sang AIWFCIY. She loves Beyonce, but she hasn't heard Drunk In Love. Plus she could've said something much better about Ariana. Ariana might sound a lot like her (probably because she has to so that she could make a decent debut), but no one can deny the girl is talented. I would love to see Mariah and Celine unite forces on a duet to honour Whitney. That would be a landmark move in both their careers, hands down. But it seems Mariah only likes to collaborate with male singers/rappers. Perhaps Nicki Minaj is to blame? Still, it shouldn't be hard for Mariah to give compliments when they are due.

BET beauty (41,732) by Geronimo from USA
I am a bit of a purist and I always want to hear Mariah's voice loud and clear without layers of backing vocals and what not in live performances. Nevertheless, after watching the other performers at the BET awards show it is clear to me what makes Mariah so legendary: her voice has a beautiful one-of-a-kind texture and she knows how to use it in the great songs she writes and produces. Even though I don't love the faux-sexy-Marilyn Monroe/Diana Ross stage act that she clearly loves and has grown into, I think her performance was simple, confident and beautiful and live. Obviously, we heard vocals and instruments that were not live on stage. But Mariah was all there and we should be proud.

MC and Nicki (41,731) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Appreciate talent? What talent does Nicki have that Mariah will need to perform with her and/or chat with her just for image? If Mariah needs any change, it's only to appear less "untouchable" which she is already doing with the recent interviews. We can't expect her to now become totally un-diva-ish beceause a) that is almost impossible for MC, b) it would make her boring and not let her sense of humor shine through. This industry is so unpredictable, it's hard to pin down a formula to achieve success, at least nowadays. But I do think that Mariah can gain more younger audiences if she duets with people who are current favorites. Like Gaga (although her last album didn't do great) or Katy Perry, but most importantly Beyonce. Nicki has got nothing to offer to Mariah.

VH1 Story Tellers (41,730) by Joseph Pelle from san jose, california
I would love Mariah to sing her entire catalogue live and tell the story behind each song and who it's about. I know it's my fantasy and will never happen. Lol to sing her entire song catalogue would be a bit much, but maybe on the new album that would be a cool idea. No Doubt has done story tellers a couple times and I like how they talk about the meaning of the song. I would love more live performances by Mariah. I don't mind the lip syncing but I don't understand why she does it when she gets practically crucified by the critics when she does. Also she should perform on the Academy Awards this week. I can't wait for a new Mariah number that just blows everyone out of the water and shuts all the haters up. Also what ever happened to her line of lingerie she was interested in doing? She should definitely make sexy lingerie and shoes. Mariah will always be #1 in my heart, no matter what she does. I love you Mimi.
