You guys are reaching now at this point. Her legacy is her talent, achievements, the standards and records she set and broke, her body of work which is in my opinion something near sacred, Mariah easily (all caps) has the best body of work by any artist point blank period. Tommy Mottola (70,834) by Terna from Nigeria This man is obsessed with Mariah in a very disturbing way. Wasn't he the one who called L.A Reid during the Emancipation Of Mimi Era to find out the album's sales statistics? Then that book the world slept on, written to slight Mariah, and then the Beyoncé comments in 2013, when we all know Beyoncé ain't no Mariah Carey (never has and never will) because Mariah's still very relevant. It's all spite and it pains him that Mariah left him and succeeded without any input from him whatsoever, and now is considered the industry's best - the standard (all caps) and a living legend. You cannot talk sh*t nor try to make fun of her when I'm around. I was with Mariah through the darkest times, unapologetically a lamb existing amongst a brood of haters who can't even stand a mention of her name, so I grew thick skin. And yes social media makes a difference because now the people can view the evidence in this case the video clips, weigh it logically and rationally and then have a say unlike before, when all we had were what the extremely biased new houses stuffed down our throats ala Glitter. I'm glad in this social media age we live in, the lambs [...] even just the general public were able to do damage control, especially on IG [...] Facebook. We went into overdrive defending her. Talk about any publicity is good publicity, "We Belong Together" spiked up in streams and downloads and has now been certified 3x Platinum, her YouTube views also experienced a surge and her following on Instagram is now at 5 million. Talk about a smear campaign gone awry. Instead, Mariah started 2017 with a hoard of new lambs. She stays winning. And that new album we all know is coming is gonna slay (all caps). There's always a logical explanation for events such as this. Do you actually think Mariah (a 27+ in the industry) knowing fully well the millions watching home and abroad intentionally f**ked up this performance knowing the backlash it would create? This isn't the first time she has performed on New Year's Eve. Listen to her when she talks, you can even hear how low and flat her intonation is indicating a sore throat. Re: Yeah positive fans (70,463) (70,470) by Terna from Nigeria For someone who only makes an appearance here when you have something negative to say or a complaint to make (scroll down and read your own messages), I'm not surprised you're one of the "since the beginning" fans. You guys have a weird sense of entitlement like Mariah owes you something for being there from the start. The real lambs are those fans who love Mariah unconditionally, taking the good with the bad. Yes there might be things she does we might not agree with but we recognize she's human first and foremost which means she too is prone to error. The real lambs are those who have embraced Mariah's work wholeheartedly not seeing a divide (old Mariah/new Mariah crap) but instead a woman who has evolved, grown and changed over time for the better as is the way it should be. We trust Mariah's sense of judgement (after all she has kept going 26+ years in an industry that's difficult and stayed relevant all by herself ) and don't ridicule her, nor criticize in a destructive way. We stay optimistic and unapologetic when it comes to Mariah and recognize she's the best to do it ever (all caps) anyway you wanna spin it, I don't care who your fave is, he or she can never be compared to my fave - Mariah Carey, the best of the best. Lionel tour (69,872) by Terna from Nigeria Anyone see the pattern here? Her image overhaul for the better perception of who the artist Mariah Carey is. While Mariah's World targets the younger generation, this tour is for the older demographics kinda like a reintroduction to Mariah Carey. Believe it or not, Mariah's music (especially her hits) is the soundtrack to a whole generation even if folk don't wanna admit it, and nothing gets people like nostalgia. I think this is a very smart marketing strategy. Talk about TEOM level type exposure. The new era is gonna slay. Third song of the decade (have faith) and her signature song.
