Halo Awards/Aussie press (36,785) by RibbonB from USA
Mariah and Nick looked great. The show is really cute and seems to get better and better every year. I can't wait for the day when dem babies are old enough to attend the Kids Choice awards with Nick and Mariah. As for the Australian press, it's a non issue right now and MC may have a lovely welcome when the time comes.

Australian press (36,784) by Tony Sciacchitano from Australia
So I'm just a little concerned about Mariah's visit to Australia. Only reason is because of Australian media. They are complete dumba**es, they all think that by creating controversy they will be popular, but really they just end up looking childish. It really bothers me, I'm just remembering when Whitney came out, they were bad. Lady gaga even, now I'm no fan of Gaga, but it's funny when she's not in Australia, they love to write great stories about her, but when she was in Oz, they hounded her. Any money they were thinking if they make up crap about her while she is in Oz it would be a global story, B.S. artists is all they are here in Oz. Now Mariah is coming to visit and they are going to have a field day, I am sure of it and not looking forward to that mess. Wish there was a way to warn Mariah not to judge us Australians from the freaks from the media.

Nick/Halo Awards (36,783) by Licia from USA
I love how Mariah and Nick support each other. Many fans don't like him , but he seems to make her happy. I have to give Nick props for all the Halo awards. I'm sure all the recipients are very happy to have all their hard work acknowledged. People don't give Nick enough credit for all the good things that he tries to do.

Thanks a bunch Stacey. I did receive them but have not been able to download them yet (my job makes me work on Sundays, bleek ). Anyways, thanks again and Happy Holidays.

All I Want For Christmas Is You - the definition of a classic (36,781) by Stella from Greece
I love this song, it never gets old. It really doesn't feel like Christmas until I hear this song. It's amazing when you think that not only does Mariah sang the original version, but she wrote it too. A real classic. On that note, I am counting down the days until December rolls on to start playing Merry Christmas and Merry Christmas II You. I think I may have to sneak a listen... or two.

Mariah at the Halo awards (36,780) by Stella from Greece
Mariah looked radiant. Best appearance since the BET Awards this year. I really love how supportive she is of Nick's projects and vice versa. I can't wait for the new Mariah era to start and particularly to hear her songs with The Dream. Ribbon, HATE U, Up Out My Face are still my jams. I don't love Memoirs as much as her early work but it sure is a underrated album.

I sent you a ton of remixes, plus audio files from her Christmas concert back in 2010. Hope you enjoy all of them while putting up your tree. You just gained a million man points. I started to put up my tree today too. BTW: I love AIWFCIY too. MC's songs sound soo good on the radio.

Dem babies: the evolution (36,778) by Carol from Spain
It seems not long ago, we saw dem babies with Barbara Walters for the first time. They were small, inside that crib, dressed and pimped up with their white outfits. Looking at these latest picture from Nick, they grew up so much. I can see Monroe's gonna break some hearts when she grows up, because she is absolutly gorgeous. Roc just seems to be a menace.
I can't wait to see them when they grow up.

AIWFCIY (36,777) by Carol from Spain
Lovely to see AIWFCIY making it into the charts yet again. A classic that never gets old. All I want for Christmas is a Mariah Carey song.

The genius of Ribbon (36,776) by RibbonB from USA
I was just listening to one of my fave songs, esp off of Memoirs, and I love the song all over again. I wish I could hear Mariah perform a stripped down version of it, with a group like Take Six or one of these clever vocal groups. I really believe that would be awesome and oh so memorable. I simply love the ending of Ribbon.

On a lighter note (36,774) by JBfly from USA
Have you all noticed that AIWFCIY is no. 1 on the holiday singles chart already? Man that song is truly a classic already. She has 6 songs on the top 200. AIWFCIY, Christmas (Baby please come home), O Holy Night, AIWFCIY Xtra festive, Santa Claus is Coming to Town and Oh Santa. Rankings are subject to change. Not only that but the covers by artist like Lady Antebellum, Michael Buble, Justin Beiber are all in there too. Mimi sure is a cash cow (no pun intended) around this time of the year. Peace.

jjaymia1978@yahoo.com. Thanks so much Stacey. The Celebration mix is my favorite too. I need it so I can play it while decorating my tree this year. I know, I just lost like a million man points, but so be it.

Neri, this is a messageboard dedicated to Mariah. It's where fans and lambs can come to share their thoughts, comments, ideas, and the like. I respect this board and this website. I also respect the MCA family. They do not need to be subjected to your attacks on my intelligence and education, and neither do I. If you feel you need to continue this, please e-mail me at mariah4ever.lamb4life@gmx.com. If not, then let's get back to Mariah. Thank you. Enjoy the day fellow lambs.

Mariah/Tommy/lambily (36,768) by RadChad from United States
Okay, so who doesn't need a great team behind them to be successful? Whitney - Clive Davis, Celine - Rene Angelil, Janet - Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, Beyonce - her Daddy... you get the point. So saying Tommy helped Mariah become who she is goes without saying. However, implying that she would be nothing without him, is where I disagree. We all know (or should all know) that Mariah's vocal and musical genius is all her, and everything is everything what is meant to be will be. In other words, Mariah was destined for stardom and if Tommy didn't give her the big push, it's my belief that someone else would've. Not discrediting Tommy for his investment in Mariah, but I will say he probably needed her more than she needed him in the long run. I would've actually loved to have seen the direction Mariah would've taken had she not be stifled in the beginning. Maybe she would've won more Grammies and been more acclaimed as a songwriter. I believe not having that balance in the beginning is what probably caused Mariah to go overboard with certain things i.e. dressing sexy, collaborating with every rapper that exist on the planet, partying (drinking more). Otherwise I believe she would've been just fine and continued to develop/progress artistically without the iron thumb on her. On the flip side, had she stayed with Tommy, I'm not sure if she would've been able to have the impact she's had in music to date. If Tommy would've kept her captivate, she would probably only be regarded as a great singer from the 90s that got lost in the mix. If she was held back as an artist, people may be saying "Remember Mariah Carey? Whatever happened to her?" Just a thought.

Tommy did help, but Mariah owns her success (36,767) by Nick from Canada
Tommy was able to harness Mariah's talent to make her a superstar. The key words in that sentence is "Mariah's talent". Without Mariah's voice and songwriting prowess, this discussion is moot. Who knows if Mariah would have seen the same kind of success under a different label or mentor? What we do know was that big-voiced divas were hot commodities when Mariah was emerging, so it is plausible to assume that she would have made a name for herself regardless of Tommy. While Tommy did pigeonhole Mariah as a conservative balladeer in her early days, it was Mariah who wrote and co-produced her material, so you can't give the big boss all the credit for her success. He may have told her what road to take, but Mariah drove the car. If we think of the things that makes Mariah great as an artist, and the things she'll be remembered for, it's #1 her voice and #2 her ability to write hit melodies. I'm sorry, but that's all Mariah.

#1's Album (36,766) by Leito from USA
I was just surprised to see Mariah's #1's album is currently #51 on iTunes. How did that come about? Could it be the AI commercials helping the sales of a 14 year old album? I find it interesting.

Mariah owing Sony (36,763) by Scott from USA
How exactly does Mariah owe Sony anything? I'm sure Mariah is thankful for Sony helping support and launch her career, but I don't think that means she owes them. They got what they wanted out of her. It was no secret that they thought of Mariah as a franchise and a way of making money for them. She certainly helped them with that. When she began to develop as an artist and branched out into RnB, Sony were worried about it. Sony hoped that after Butterfly she had the whole RnB thing out of her system. Then she started working on Rainbow and continuing down her creative path and further developing her artistry. I think they hoped she'd go back to being the Mariah they had created, the one that would may have assured some more years of huge sales such as with the Music Box and Daydream albums. Mariah's albums as she developed her creative path began to sell less albums, but so what? As she said herself even when making the Emotions albums she didn't care if it sold less than her debut. To her I'm sure it wasn't all about sales but being able to express herself the way she wanted to musically. Her struggle came with not being able to release the music she wanted to and not being able to be her own person, something Sony were holding her back from as they were more interested in keeping the franchise bringing in the big bucks. Now tell me who owes who? Does Mariah owe Sony or does Sony owes Mariah for forgetting that she too is a person and not just a cash machine?

Scary tought (36,760) by Carol from Spain
A scary tought came to my mind a few days ago. The day I wake up and I read the news saying "Mariah Carey died". Sorry for the morbid tought, but has anyone tought of that? I can't imagine a world without her. Of course, I know the day will come, but I don't want to. Is that so bad?
