Re: G.O.T (78,172) (78,173) by Edward from USA
A huge fan of Game of Thrones here too, but as big as the show always is, and with the huge amount of work that goes into producing it, I don't think they would deal with huge egos, actors showing up late and other shenanigans. One thing though, Stella would've killed the role of the "Dead Dragon". Her contouring would have saved them thousands of dollars in make up to make her look like on of them. She would've only needed a pair of wings, a tail and that's it. She has the claws, the hideous leather jackets and the face of a dragon.

The One is a gem (78,127) by Edward from USA
"The One" should’ve definitely been a single. It's epic when she sings the verse:
Once again nothin' jumpin' up in yo place
Sick of your berry buzzin' all in my face
Way too much to tolerate
Time to roll
Y'all know I gots to migrate
I could never understand why they would pick "Boy, I Need You" over "The One". T-Pain definitely brought the song to a completely new level with those autotuned high notes. Definitely a missed opportunity, just like they did with Migrate from the Merry Christmas album.

Re: The album that should have been (78,011) (78,022) by Edward from USA
Despacito is a fun, summer, catchy song that people are obviously devouring. I'm not going to say it is bad song because it is about to dethrone OSD, but I definitely feel some relieve that maybe I won't have to worry about that record being tied or broken anymore. I'm not worrying about Rihanna's surpassing Mariah's 18 #1's either. It's getting kind of tiresome. They're just that, records, and as such, meant to be broken. Mariah should be proud to have held it for such a long time. I'm not sure yet they'd surpass it, but as I predicted, they might actually share the record with her. 17 weeks is a long time at the top.

Re: Is there any soso track on MIAMTEC? (77,997) (78,005) by Edward from USA
I don't personally like MIAM much because it is mostly depressing and her voice sounds piercing at times with so much filtering and tweaking. I like many tracks in the album though, but it's her only album I completely obliterated many tracks to create something I could actually enjoy. This is how I have it on my playlist:
01. Cry
02. Faded
03. Dedicated
04. #Beautiful
05. Make It Look Good
06. You're Mine (Desperate Mermaid In PR)
07. You Don't Know What To Do
08. Meteorite
09. Camouflage
10. The Art of Letting Go
We waited so long for her collaboration with Mary J Blige and R. Kelly, but both of them ended up being fillers. Her repetitive attempt at another "Fly Like a Bird" didn't do anything for me. "Supernatural" is cute but that's about it. She took a classic, "One More Try", and for the first time basically destroyed it, and not in a good way, so mad at that, since it had been a dream of mine to hear her take on it. To me Charmbracelet is a far superior album than MIAM.

Re: Is she okay? (77,957) (77,962) by Edward from USA
One of those pictures is basically a close up, if the camera angle is making her neck disappear, then Bryan's neck should be nonexistent too. She's just overweight, plain and simple. If she's happy with it, we should all be happy with it too. At the end of the day It's "her neck, her back, her boobs and her ass".

Rapidito (77,919) by Edward from USA
Rapidito scores its 14th week at #1. It could actually get to sit all by itself at the 15th week mark, but Wild Thoughts might actually be the song to dethrone it. I doubt Rapidito is going to surpass Mariah's record. Yes, Rihanna's going to have another #1, but it is what it is. Lol.

Something new (77,780) by Edward from USA
I was just listening to E=MC2 while working now and I realized something that hasn't ever been said here, but that it should be talked about on the board: Migrate should've been a single.

Re: Despacito | Most-viewed YouTube video of all time (77,751) (77,753) by Edward from USA
I agree. Mariah has managed to hold these records for such a long time that at this point it doesn't really matter much, 22 years holding a record is a feast. She broke Elvis' record, but that didn't take way from his accomplishments or his place in music. I think it matters to fans, but generally I never heard any older person taking into account The Beatles' or Elvis' records when enjoying their music.

Re: Despacito | Most-viewed YouTube video of all time (77,731) (77,749) by Edward from USA
I agree, this is song is fire everywhere and it's #1 on iTunes, Streaming and the Hot 100, with Justin Beiber as featured on top of that. There's not any song as strong competing with it for the top spot. As a Latino, I would be happy, but I would also be sad because Mariah is definitely not a one-hit wonder. But records are made to be broken. And besides, we would be more at ease not having to worry about that anymore.

Re: Battle of the cougars (77,738) (77,748) by Edward from USA
Little Drew, I can't be your cougar for obvious reasons, but if you can twist your body like Celine Dion while speaking with a strong British accent, I'm pretty sure the director of the American Association of Cougarees could get you on the list. You would have to send a video of you doing those things. A twisted picture wouldn't be cut it. If you can hold your cellphone while doing it, your place is guaranteed. Send video to FindMeACougarNow@Delulu.ng

Battle of the cougars (77,722) by Edward from USA
If there's a woman deserving of not only one, but two or three young, loving, athletic, bouncing, not-let-the-cougar-rest all night cougarees, that's Celine Dion. The woman dedicated her whole life to only one great man and now sadly he's gone. She can still give any cougaree a run for his money. She's in shape, her ability to do the things I saw her do with her body in concert would make any cougaree salivate. She's a decent woman, in shape, a contortionist, the perfect teacher for a cougaree to learn and appreciate a great woman. Good for Celine. Yes, it was kind of shocking seeing Celine twist her body like that, but then I applaud her for doing something different. I just wouldn't like to see her acting like a teenager though, but other than that, the woman can have lots of fun. Whomever she's cougaring with is definitely making her glow, just like when Nick made Mariah glow like a chandelier.

Re: Fat Oprah (77,610) (77,613) by Edward from USA
I hope you don't ever go to stand-up comedy show then. You would die from a heart attack. I didn't understand it at first, but I learned it the hard way. I walked out of a stand-up act at the Apollo because I thought the guy was being too racist. I wish I hadn't. Then I realized that the people who he was being racist towards stayed happily there. Comedians will make fun of everybody, from handicap people to fat Oprah's, it's what they do. And I'm done talking about fat, I've gained like ten pounds just from reading all these heavy weight posts, including mine. And besides, Mariah would lose like 40 pounds if she got rid of her polyps and nodules, there's not excuse.

Mariah was banned from playing Scrabble (77,608) by Edward from USA
Mariah's CD's inserts were to be read with a dictionary at hand. Even Walter never cared to look up the word "emblazon" in the dictionary, lol. He asked the hosts in an interview a couple of years ago if "emblazon" was even a word, he should've known better. I've always thought her lyrics had more depth from Mariah Carey up to Charmbracelet. After that she kind of became more playful with her lyrics. Maybe she ran out of deep things to sing about. Mariah was a true inspiration in the 90's, not only as an artist, but as lyricist. I do miss that too. Those simple yet poetic lyrics were to die for. It wasn't even about the vocal acrobatics. Songs like "Looking In", "Outside", "Petals", "My All", "I Only Wanted"... the only and only, Mariah Carey.

Stacey, don't you think this would also be a great opportunity for Mariah to team up with a big name at least for a remix to boost the song if it turns out to be good?

Star (77,583) by Edward from USA
I'm excited Mariah's releasing a new single for Christmas. Judging by the fact that the song is associated with a reputable company, I think Mariah's going to push herself to deliver something great. She did it with "Almost Home". I think that "Almost Home" is the only track after 2008 in which Mariah actually sounds as she did in her glory days. Since I've never heard any Christmas songs with the words: "Doritos", "Fritos", "Snickers" and "Cornflakes" in the lyrics, I think everything will be ok. What do you guys think?

Fat Oprah (77,572) by Edward from USA
Clearly "beauty is in the eyes of the beer holder". I don't necessarily think being overweight, not obese, is ugly, there are many overweight people who I consider to be beautiful and attractive. Mariah has been in shape most of her life, that's what we've seen from her. She didn't come out to the music scene being chubby like Adele or Oprah. People have loved Oprah through all her weight stages because Oprah doesn't have a shady, arrogant, stinky attitude, and that's the main key, and besides I don't remember the last time Oprah was selling sex as part of her show. Mariah has sold sex as part of her act for a long time now, she's been touching her nipples on music videos for as long as I can remember, those magic push-up bras she one wore in the late 90's gave her boobs twice the size, so she's going to be called out when her weight goes up. The thing is that she makes things worse with her choice of clothing, and nobody seems to be telling her when she looks like a blowup doll. As a regular person, people wouldn't give an effing damn about her weight, but she's a celebrity and that's what some people don't understand, and everything has to do with the attitude. Oprah, Gabourey Sidibe and Adele are all overweight ladies, but loved by the most people, but why, well, their attitudes. Then we have Kirstie Alley, a woman with a stinky attitude, whom many people love to hate. Mariah can be as fat as Gabourey if she wants to be, is her body and her choice, but she definitely needs to work on her choice in clothing and her diva attitude. Minimizing her intake of Doritos, Big Macs and alcohol would also help. And Licia, I think you're beautiful.

Re: Like the rest of us, she isn't (77,544) (77,546) by Edward from USA
Yes, it makes sense when it comes to a celebrity whose income is directly proportional to the public image she portrays. Regular people don't get "he/she is just a human" pass when they don't do their job well. Yes, she has the means to even get a psychologist or a psychiatrist should she need one. Many fat people here in America don't have free healthcare or the means to get help, and things are about to get worse now. Mariah has the money for that. I'm not saying we, as fans, shouldn't be compassionate. At the end of the day we're her fans and stick with her through thick and thin, but we shouldn't expect that from the general public who don't know what we know about her, only what she shows, her diva persona that comes across as arrogant most of the time. There's a great person behind that diva facade, why not show it? Mariah saved an old friend's life by paying for her alternative cancer treatment, she didn't hesitate to give the woman the money. We, as fans, can believe and relate to that Mariah, but the rest wouldn't believe it based on the way she behaves. She doesn't have to change who she is, but this is a game she's playing to win or at least to stay in for a long time. She can't do the same things over and over expecting different results, that's the definition of insanity. We have witnessed that when Mariah put herself into it, she sings well consistently, dress well and let that beautiful person shine through. Mariah is a wonderful person, but the last 3 fans she has won't be enough to keep her in the game, even if we buy multiple copies of her albums, singles, perfumes, panties or watch her reality show. If she doesn't get the general public on board somehow, her career is doomed. She's doing great with Lionel Richie, I hope she keeps it up.

Like the rest of us, she isn't (77,536) by Edward from USA
I do think Mariah is a good person. I also think there's humbleness in her, but the diva game she's been playing ever since she started believing her own hype has tarnished her brand. It's not about whether she's perfect or not, nobody's asking her to be perfect. When you're a celebrity as big as she is, people are going to talk about and make up shit about you. It is about coming across in a way that people wouldn't think you're just an arrogant superficial bitch. Mariah has a huge ego, but when she puts it in check or when she listens to professional people who actually want to help her, she usually comes out a winner. As much as we don't want to admit it, Mariah is not like the rest of us, she's a celebrity and with fame and fortune comes responsibility too. I don't believe in fat shaming, but we can all be fat in our respective homes, but Mariah can't afford being fat and not being noticed. She signed up for a life of luxury, fame, fortune, now she should deal it with it. If she can bring Stella and her posse with her everywhere, she could hire and bring a personal trainer along together with a cook and a dietician. If overweight people had the means she has, I'm pretty sure they would do the same, but with Mariah everything's going to be magnified and she should just do something about it. That's the life she chose, and no matter how many times we try to convince ourselves that Mariah is just a mere human like the rest of us, well, sorry to tell you that she isn't. Let's not pretend people are going to give her a break, she should give herself a break from all the shenanigans that haven't obviously been working for her and then things would definitely change. It's up to her, not to us. She definitely needs to go back to the drawing board, back to basics.

Re: ? (77,459) (77,462) by Edward from USA
B, you should be able to download any music you upload or purchased from them as many times as you want. You should hover your mouse pointer over "Account and Lists", then on the right side scroll down and click on "Your Music Library", and from there you should be able to download your music. If you think you're having too much of a headache, and since I know you really bought the music because you're a fan, email me and I'll send them to you.

That's exactly what Mariah should do, get those vocal outakes from her early hits, package them and release them. All of us are salivating for something like that to happen. I just made my very own .Mp3 of this version of "Someday", it's definitely refreshing.

Lionel and Lioness Carey (77,407) by Edward from USA
Looking at the clips from YouTube, I'm happy Mariah delivered with grace. It's definitely not only about expecting her to sound as if she were 20, of course some parts were lipped as expected, but in general she did give it her all. One thing that stood up to me was the fact that Mariah actually looked like she really wanted to be there, not just be done with the job, and that made a huge difference. She really enjoyed herself, and those tears were of joy for the support and the overwhelming love she was receiving. We seem to keep looking at her and all we can see is the girl who lives inside the golden world, but maybe, just maybe, that's not all there is to see. I, more than ever, believe in this verse:
"She smiles through a thousand tears
And harbors adolescent fears
She dreams of all
That she can never be
She wades in insecurity
And hides herself inside of me"
