Re: Toni Braxton featured? (83,890) (83,897) by Musti from UK
Thanks for sharing this. I had no idea this was ever in the works. Toni is immensely talented. Her command of the contralto range and her perfectly-timed growls are practically unmatched. Long As I Live is probably my most listened to song of this year. In the past she has stated how much she would like to duet with Mariah. I would love to see this happen.

I totally agree. Are we still in 1902? It's just the F word. No doubt more than half of the people here have said it a few times today already. Sounds relatable to me. There's no cut-off age for using it. The title is catchy, the snippet sounds great and the cover looks beautiful. Let the new era begin.

Re: Mariah's next look (83,631) (83,636) by Musti from UK
Go back and watch it again. As a gay man, labelling something "gay" does not make you cool. If it was a straight man saying it you would've been all over his throat already. Him being gay doesn't make it any different. It actually makes it worse. You're only defending him because he's trashing Mariah. What a surprise.

Totally. Some OTT moron who is not only disrespectful, but also homophobic? What a disgrace of an interview, on so many levels. The lengths people would go to get the tiniest bit of attention.

Re: Article: Mariah Carey channels '90s Mariah in vacation photo (83,520) (83,522) by Musti from UK
I don't want her to drop hip hop. It goes very well with her vocal delivery. And rap tends to blend with her style seamlessly. She just needs a good update. I feel like this time we really could be getting a fresh approach. Her interviews sound very promising and she looks super hot in all her recent pics. One thing I hope is that we won't be coming on here to shred her to pieces. She's in a unique place in her career compared to other legends, needing to prove herself even to her most hardcore fanbase (us) despite having nearly 3 decades behind her. It's hard to please everyone, certainly fans who still remember how otherworldly she was in the 90s. I hope we will start appreciating her for who she is now and not forget the fact that we don't have many more Mariah albums waiting for us in the future. I can't wait to hear the new material and I hope it is well received by everyone.

Re: A message for B (83,163) (83,200) by Musti from UK
Mariah coming clean about losing her voice is the worst marketing move imaginable for a singer. This wouldn't be anything like her bipolar announcement. She'd basically be telling everyone that the very product she is selling no longer works. Such an announcement might make some lambs happy, but it would certainly drive away whatever casual fans she has left. Everyone already knows that her voice isn't even half of what it used to be. What she does need to do is to stop touring so much. I don't think her voice is completely gone, but she definitely hasn't been a reliable live singer for a long time. Although I'm very satisfied with her recent Can't Let Go performances, watching her lip ISB entirely was just embarrassing. She should stick to the studio where she knows how to shine, with or without a bit of studio magic. One can only hope that her new material will be true to her current voice, but whatever she chooses to do I'm still here for her commercial releases.

Article: Broadway loves Mariah Carey (83,122) by Musti from UK
I searched for this on YouTube and found the entire show. I'm really impressed with Love Takes Time and Vanishing. Vision of Love was great too. My All takes the cake though, she truly did it in her own way and so beautifully. They put on a nice show overall. Make sure to watch Someday too.

Can't Let Go (83,033) by Musti from UK
I haven't watched the lip sync fail nor do I intend to. It doesn't matter to be honest. We have all known for a while that her voice isn't as durable as other divas. Regardless, she will always be remembered as a master vocalist even if her legacy rests on less than two decades of live singing. I hope no one here expected the magic to last forever. We might as well appreciate whatever is left. And I'm truly appreciating what she did on Can't Let Go. Not the original key obviously, but she still did it great justice. That G6 was crystal clear. I'm still shocked she sang the whole song live. I honestly couldn't give two shits about Fantasy not being live if it means she will deliver on more important songs like Can't Let Go.

My Love (82,961) by Musti from UK
YouTube was kind enough to remind me about this song today. Such an underrated gem. She's at her best here from start to finish. Although I miss her doing story-driven songs with big words, sometimes I wonder whether she really needs to use impressive vocabulary when she has that magnificent voice to dress up even the simplest lyric.

Re: Article: Mariah Carey slammed for Christmas tour ticket prices (82,643) (82,650) by Musti from UK
The prices are alright. You can still get a decent ticket for £60-£70 which is fair. We shouldn't compare M to the Rolling Stones though. Their career is almost entirely based on touring, so much that they release albums in support of their tours and not vice versa. They can charge £500 per ticket and no one would say a thing.

Re: First impressions of TEOM (82,441) (82,455) by Musti from UK
I don't think Twister is an interlude either. It is structured as a song. Short, but still a song. I even have my reservations about calling Languishing an interlude. Other than its transitional melody, it still sounds like a full song to me.

Re: Stella suing her cousin (82,394) (82,400) by Musti from UK
I guess her mama never told her that what goes around comes back around. Pow bitch. Seriously though, I'm impressed with this cousin of hers. At least someone in her family tree isn't totally rotten.

Re: Album? What album? (82,282) (82,285) by Musti from UK
I just think it's pointless to tour again with no new material, unless she's planning do a concept during her residency like focusing on one album, as someone else suggested. But even then, what's the point really? Even if she were to tour in support of a new album, she'd still only sing a handful of new songs, like she has done with most of her tours for nearly 2 decades. It'll be past hits galore no matter what. She might as well have something new to go along with it.

Re: Album? What album? (82,278) (82,281) by Musti from UK
Touring is definitely where the money is. But I wish she was touring in support of new material rather than past hits, which she has overdone since 2015. And it's not like she does much in terms of shaking up the setlist. Neither Vegas nor a few regionalised concerts are good platforms for a megastar to promote her new album, so I guess it's safe to say we won't be hearing anything new anytime soon. I don't mind her touring even when if she doesn't sing 100% live. For me it's about being in her majesty's presence, and the lay listener usually can't tell the difference between live/lipped. But I don't think there's much to be gained from all this excessive touring other than filling Roc Nation's pockets, as if she needs to prove her worth once again. She's only diluting her catalogue.

Re: New album title (82,146) by Musti from UK
Lately I've been thinking that a good album title would simply be a smiling face stylised as ":)". Especially with where she is in her life right now, she looks very confident and radiant. I think this might be one of the happiest times in her life. She wouldn't have made the bipolar revelation otherwise. I love me a happy Mariah.

Re: Collaboration talk: Sia (81,644) (81,650) by Musti from UK
This would be epic. Sia is an amazing songwriter. Especially in her earlier (darker) work her melodies and lyrics were very unique. I can easily hear Mariah singing something along the lines of Rewrite, Electric Bird, You Have Been Loved and Natale's Song. They both have an incredible lot to bring to the table.

Dish Nation (81,572) by Musti from UK
Does anyone where to watch Dish Nation? I love the show and their energy. Who knew Da Brat would be a natural at it? They did a Mariah trivia on their 327 show, so cute. It's really great to see that Brat and Mariah are still good friends.

Re: Masters (81,339) (81,347) by Musti from UK
This is true. Masters are owned by whoever pays for their recording. But this also comes down to what's stipulated in the contract. No doubt Mariah didn't have enough bargaining power to claim any rights on the masters back then. But now, I would be very surprised if she didn't demand it.

Re: Me, Myself & Mariah (81,287) (81,290) by Musti from UK
I don't think it's bitter. The very fact that she has never discussed the Grammy situation like this before means that she's let go of the bitterness. She sounds very relaxed and confident, mature and hip. I have great hopes from her contract with Roc Nation. We may never see another hit, but we can at least expect quality music from her in the near future.

Thank you for sharing this. I didn't realise she's recording new stuff. I'm in love with Long as I Live and I love everything you said about it. I hope this can be her WBT. Toni is one of the most underrated artists out there. Yet her talent is unmatched.

Re: Article: Drag queen "denied entry" to concert for being in drag (79,859) (79,867) by Musti from UK
I didn't see any "strange" people there so I have no idea what you're talking about. You think she's strange? This is exactly what the problem is. Yes, it is sick. I don't know whether she was or wasn't allowed in but I did see many people giving them nasty looks, including O2 staff and security. That alone is enough.

Article: Drag queen "denied entry" to concert for being in drag (79,858) by Musti from UK
This is sad. I think I actually saw her when I was waiting for my friend to arrive. She looked fierce. And she definitely wasn't the only one there in drag. This shouldn't be happening in this day and age, especially not in London and most certainly not at a Mariah concert. Patiently waiting for the day when people with a feminine side will no longer be made fun of or be treated like they're inferior. I hope Mariah chips in on this. This is just sick.
