Just saw her present the pop vocal grammy - Miley Cyrus fan girling over her was so damn cute to watch, specially the backstage video. Wow I wonder what got her to change her mind about the Grammys and be part of the whole weekend. She looked amazing but her dress was like 5 others that she already has. Also I was hearing her website is down. Wonder if they're uploading new album stuff. If the prediction of her releasing something in Q1 is true it would make sense for her to announce it soon. I don't want to get my hopes up but I also can't help but get my hopes up haha. I wonder if this new relationship with the Grammy's is a strategic move on her team who campaigned for her to be an integral part of this year's celebration to put her in the limelight. As for the insider account, wow, I had read somewhere they have made multiple posts about MC that never came true (although I personally never checked the account), but what you said makes sense that maybe they weren't wrong but Mariah's plans changed, so judging by what Pedro said in his post about the insider claiming her new single and video are ready to launch makes me excited for a strong roll out. It being called "musical style" I wonder if it will be like a visual album. I read what all you lovely people have to say daily and rarely post but I wanted to say that you are one of the nicest people here and I am so happy that you stood your ground to his incessant bullying and biggotry which eventually led to his self combustion as it has before. It is so good to have you posting regularly again. The insider/prediction account that you were talking about I think is Nostradamus Insider. They have been spot on about all other artists. I think Mariah possibly could have had a change of plans midway through her project last year which is what led them to be wrong. They claim MC16 as it was last year was scrapped and re-done. I admire your resilience, however I do understand what everyone is talking about when they say they get affected. Not everyone has the same strength and a lot of us have been straight up bullied by him, called names, all for having a passion for Mariah's music. While I let most things slide sometimes a few things are triggering. Were all adults here (some may not behave like it lol) but when people are out here calling you a c u next Tuesday, and lord knows what else Eric had to censor it does trickle into your personal life. There could be other things people are dealing with and the last thing they need to be is bullied on a message board and that's why easier to just take breaks and come back hoping for the best. The video was from too far so I couldn't really tell but sounded like it was pre-recorded which I'm not mad at at all because it suited her current voice really well and got me excited for what is to come - hopefully she'll have a couple of jazz numbers. Rockin' Around #1 (104,416) by Shezz from Pk Robert Anthony you called this weeks ago. There still are a few more weeks for her to get to number 1, I hope she gets one week atleast. Though you said you thought she won't hit number 1 this year. Maybe she'll hit number 1 on the chart for the first week of 2024 which will keep her streak going. I remember it was a really tight race last year as well and RATCT was also number 1 on Spotify last year but more towards the end. I don't think any amount of promotion at this point will make people stream or buy this song more than they already do. I don't think Mariah has anything left to accomplish with AIWFC - most of us were hoping it would help her get her longest running number 1 title back. It still can, might just take longer now. I think some people are generally getting a little tired of AIWFC (as per comments seen online). Heck even I tend to skip it on my Christmas playlist now sometimes - but whenever it does come on it still sounds pretty darn good I'll admit. Lets celebrate her reaching number 1 on the global Billboard and Spotify charts and looking great in the People shoot. She says she has enough songs for an album now needs to record some of them so maybe a new album in spring. Also, I read online that Butterfly Lounge is Mariah's foray into Jazz. Now that a handful of shows are done you can see they're identically phrased and sung. Funny thing is that whenever she is actually singing live she sounds pretty good so I don't know why she needed to but what are you gonna do? It is what it is. People are really enjoying her shows and can't really tell or don't really care. I feel it's akin to people believing in Santa Claus. It makes people happy - let them. Cut her some slack (104,125) by Shezz from Pk You'd be stiff too if you just defrosted after 10 months. She's singing better than she did last year and earlier this year whenever she's not lipping. And she's finally not making that awkward face when she is lipping. She's looking good, she's even helping the staff mop and making up impromptu songs again. In the photo montage clip that ET posted from the first show I noticed Bryan was in one of the Christmas dinner pictures. If they've broken up she wouldn't know him anymore. This is the first tour in ages he's not there with her by her side for whatever reason. She obviously misses him terribly and is trying to be as happy on stage as she can right now. Her second show was already an improvement plus the general audience/public are loving it. One thing I will say is that the set design isn't helping Mariah much this year. She is also rumored to make a big announcement before her Christmas tour starts and have a big collaboration coming up. Could the fabled "Themed Album" be another Christmas album? Whereas a third Christmas album would be crazy even for Mariah, it also could be her safest album venture. Mariah is smart and knows her albums don't sell anymore but she also knows that she holds special magical powers during the holiday season. Is it just me or does she tend to dress less provocatively each time she loses weight and gets fitter? It's not that the clothes fit her better, her choice of fashion changes. The "girls" are no longer front and center. The E=MC2 era like Andrew mentioned was one of her best. She was the fittest she had ever been. She could have shown off her body much more than she did if she wanted to. I remember her regularly being layered in chic short jackets. The clothes were fitting, revealing her toned figure but the girls were hardly in focus. Workin Hard x My Prayer x All I Live For x Hero 09 (103,407) by Shezz from Pk I love all these new songs. My favourite keeps changing every day. My Prayer mesmerizes me each time I hear it - yes it sounds a little dated. Or rather nostalgic and I love that it transports me to another time. Workin’ Hard grew on me in a few listens and I love that it got a remix treatment as well in the same release. All I Live For extended version is great but gets slightly less listens from me than the others because its novelty is slightly less in comparison I suppose. And just like the rest, I was ready to hate Hero 2009 but was pleasantly surprised by it. Most of all what I loved the most about MB30 was how it got everyone here in such a positive, happy, “ I love Mariah” mood again. Mimi L needs to un retire and chime in now. Workin Hard x My Prayer x All I Live For x Hero 09 (103,398) by BFF from United States Yes, I agree. "Without You" deserved to be on the final track listing over "My Prayer." The way she sings the line "You always smile but in your eyes your sorrow shows" gets me every time. My only complaint about "Without You" is that it was massive internationally but only went to #3 in the United States. It really should have been a moment akin to Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You". The way she sings it eclipses the Harry Nilsson version and the Badfinger original. Music Box vs. My Prayer (103,294) by Robert-Anthony from United States I have always wondered if Music Box started out as as a gospel song but evolved into what we have today. Listening to Music Box, MC makes you think she is talking to God in one verse and in another verse is to talking her lover. The use of the word "thee" makes me think Music Box was a gospel song before MC changed the lyrics to make it more secular with the use of the words "sweet", "tenderly", and "baby". Therefore, I am wondering did My Prayer evolve out of Music Box to become the gospel song MC wanted. I think that it is safe to assume that My Prayer is a gospel song. Music Box 30th anniversary revealed (103,270) by Bill from the UK I am so excited for this news. And wow, a new song from the recording sessions, I can't wait to hear it. And finally, to have the Thanksgiving concert on audio at last. Music Box was my first Mariah album and still to this day remains one of my favourites. Grunge album (101,285) by Shezz from Pk After the Rolling Stone interview (which was a really good one after a while) I've come across atleast 4-5 major publication's articles about MC releasing her Grunge album soon (which in MC world could still mean 2024). I wonder if MC's team has arranged those or if they just picked up on what she said in the Rolling Stone interview. The other artist that she has talked about collaborating on it with seems to be Millie Bobby Brown. Way back she said this person is an actress who wants to get into music and they've been hanging out together a bit much for their age difference to just be good friends even though MC wants to forever be 12. I thought it had thematic similarities ( l don't want any material things for Christmas, I only want you) but then most songs have that now don't they? I don't think Tommy "stole" the idea as it was already a commercially released song. Could Mariah have been inspired by it? Possible. The fact that they named it the exact same title, I hope, means that she wasn't aware of it and it was just a coincidence. The fact that they're only going on title similarities and doing it after so many years when it's become such a lucrative staple just means they're just after some money now. Seems like there might have been some label conflict with the remix not getting played on radio much and MC not getting credited (and clearly it's not because the original was better - the remix was a near home run that MC put a considerable effort into). 2. Maybe she's focusing more on her own upcoming project that she's very excited about. 3. Maybe she just was not invited to perform? 4. Her fear of live shows. Although she did say the video was up to RCA not her, and the amount of love and support she showed Latto on twitter, she would have been down for it. Label or scheduling conflict? I don't think she minded being a feature/guest on the song as she did once talk on twitter spaces about the possibility of the song going n1 and what that would mean. I don't think we have too long to wait till we get some announcements about the new era. Here's hoping for a full on roll out TEOM style.
