But wouldn't be just easier to switch all capitals to small letters instead of deleting the whole word and making the author of the post to look like an idiot? It is hard enough that I am translating everything to make sure that everything is understandable (since English is not my native language) and not to mention googling gay terms so that I can keep up since I am not gay and sometimes do not understand all the references. Emotions (109,263) by Jamie from UK I've been reflecting on the Emotions album this morning and how it didn't perform as well as Mariah Carey. I personally love this album and the lead single is a total smash. The soul and depth on the album is something I love. It surprises me that it didn't get to number one one on the Billboard 200. Columbia even held back sales of Can't Let Go stopping it going to number 1, to help increase sales of the album. I wonder now had they let Can't Let Go (which I love) go to number one would sales of the album have increased naturally. Maybe initially Columbia didn't put as much money in to the albums promotional release hoping they could spend less and just rely on the success off Mariah Carey. Just surprises me with such a strong lead single and the quality of the tracks on Emotions, that it didn't sell better. It's full of very strong power ballads which were very popular then, and mixed with some great pop songs, I love To Be Around You no and Till The End Of Time. I am sure the label knows that it will be a hit and they want to release it as the second single to launch the album with some fire behind it. People love duets during the summer too. I'm pleased that the song hasn't got a climax with belting, [because] we know that Mariah can't do that anymore, and it would have been impossible for her to [replicate] it live. It seems that she is getting success now with a song that isn't about her voice, but because the song is a real bop. This song is on heavy rotation in my house at the moment, [although] it hasn't cracked the top 100 on iTunes her in Norway yet, but that is no surprise, Norway might be the country where she has had the least success in the world throughout her career. But what I can't seem to understand, is why couldn't she sing this song live at the BET Awards? It's an easy song for her to sing, it stays almost within one octave of her voice. What is also frustrating, is that she doesn't do a thing to make it seem like she's singing, what is this? Anywho, so nice to se her getting some success again and widespread attention on social media, I have almost [forgotten] what that feels like as a fan, besides the [annual] Christmas stick. Basically saying she attacked him and said he should have left her to die like Marilyn. And putting in to question the type of person she is. Is this new? Mariah's already given us some iconic songs that dealt with her trauma from that marriage, "Side Effects" being the most powerful and raw in my opinion. At this point, still throwing shade at Tommy feels unnecessary. She already went through her metamorphosis with "Butterfly", and found a renewed IDGAF freedom with TEOM. Lyrics that hint at Tanaka or Nick make more sense, they reflect more recent chapters in her life. But revisiting Tommy, decades later, feels a bit tired. She's 56, he's 76, it's time to "Shake It Off". Or who knows, maybe she's just waiting for Tommy to clock out permanently so she can drop a song called "Dirty Coffin", reminiscing about how "important" his presence was in launching her career. TD press tour (109,144) by Shezz from Pk I noticed yesterday watching some radio interview clips - her energy and enthusiasm varies quite a bit depending on the interviewer. She was very animated and enthusiastic for a couple and totally disinterested in the others. If she knows you, has a history with you and you know about her music and black culture, she will be way more relaxed and open. Just an observation, to most of the white interviewers she was a little cold and reserved. Maybe it was just a coincidence that she was not too familiar with them. Anyone else noticed this? I mean I don't blame her - not everyone can fake enthusiasm for small talk with strangers, but if you're out there promoting your music, wanting them to play your songs, you have to present a friendly front. That song is perfection, was sexy, fierce, clever lyrics, catchy chorus, top notch video, Mariah's revenge era confidence and so much more I'll forever be upset that it didn't get to be #1. Obsessed is another one. It was ahead of its time, it's so viral on TikTok and with the younger generation. Loverboy too was ahead of its time. The pop-y retro style is so in right now, Sabrina Carpenter has her whole aesthetic wrapped around that style. Problem with Mariah she's ahead of times and people only later realize how her songwriting was always 10 steps ahead of the music industry. (Friday 6 June 2025; 22:50)

She looked alive and genuinely happy to be there and so grateful and proud. Almost shed a tear seeing that after so long. And she sang along to the song without looking at any monitors. I'd love a remix for the song. It's crying for another 30 second verse from Doecii. Apparently the fancy car company (that she shot the cover in) whose name I can't remember posted about something coming soon with her. I'm hoping that's for the music video. Knowing Mariah she's collaborated with them. Also, so so happy to read about the new label. They will go all out to support her and she won't pull out of her project midway through like she has previously because of these label issues. And I am happy that LA Reid is also officially guiding MC16. She's taken her time but she's doing it right. May she get the success and respect she deserves. Proud to be a lamb. The lyric video helped me get more into it. I think it's her best lead single in a long ass while. Mariah - get behind it and give it your all. I hope a proper video is coming soon. I feel like they haven't shot it yet. This is going to be the [It's like that] of [MC16]. The punchy re introduction to get the attention and then she'll knock us down with the WBT of this era. I'm not trying to sound like a conspiracy theorist, but I genuinely believe Morgan is a plant, and we should be cautious. He's shown time and again that he'll do just about anything for a quick payout. Mariah is at a stage in her career where her success is not only undeniable - it's powerful. She confirmed a couple of years ago that she owns all of her masters: 86 singles and 15 studio albums, dating back to 1990. That level of ownership is incredibly rare, especially for someone who's not just the voice, but also the writer and producer. She's earning real revenue from her catalog, and that kind of power makes her a threat to certain people. We've seen a similar pattern before. When Michael Jackson began acquiring ownership of his music - and even the rights to other artists' catalogs - it triggered serious pushback from powerful forces.
