I chose those four albums because you can tell MC's singing style and voice significantly changed on those four albums. After my listening sessions, I listened to the Made For Me remix snippet. I love her alto voice now. I have always favored altos over sopranos. MC's alto voice is just a sweet divine to my ears. I think she still has her vocal technique that she has always had. So my question to the board is this. Does MC still have her vocal technique? If she were to have a voices battle with Jessie J, would MC win the battle? Beyonce? (Sunday 12 May 2024; 21:11)

Why everybody hates the girl we don't know (106,377) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway This is a really interesting video made by a very talented youtuber, it's over two hours long and a comprehensive dive into the downfall of Jennifer Lopez. The reason I share it is because Mariah is mentioned quite a bit, and in this JLo debacle, after her album, movie and the documentary about making of the movie have tanked worse than even Mariah's own vanity project, Glitter, Mariah is portraid as somewhat a hero. Mariah was right about JLo all along. While Mariah managed to bounce back in 2005 with one of the biggest comebacks in music history, because Mariah actually has talent, I just can't se how JLo will come back from this, it's career ending stuff happening now. Everything has been exposed the last few weeks, that she steals other people's music, dosen't sing her own songs, everything her being from the "block" is fake, she might be the most rude and mean celebrity there is, there's just no authenticity, and everything is out there now. She has increasingly been seen on stage constantly referring to the autocue, something she never did before, and her latest instagram post about the soul beach festival she can be seen doing the same. I picked Daydream because that is when MC's career went into overdrive and her popularity increased. Tortured Poets Department seems to be Taylor Swift's Daydream. It's just a natural process, new artists come along and people's focus switches. The thing Mariah has on her side is that she's part of an elite group that are considered the last legacy artists, or real artists. Everything these days is so manufactured and people forget about you easily these days. Fame is short lived and there's no longevity. The likes of Mariah, Celine, Whitney and Janet to name but a few were probably the last divas we will have and it's nice that they are etched in time. I hope Mariah never releases anything anymore (105,751) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Obsessed was a great first choice just like TMB was a great first choice for E=MC2, but similar to the latter the next single choices and the cheesy music videos ruined it. MOAIA was going to be an ambitious project with 2 remix projects (one with high profile collabs) and it had an Elle magazine tie in. But at the end of the day what sells an album is how it's introduced to the world and the singles play a huge role in it (in my opinion). So releasing HATEU, which is a great song, don't get me wrong, but not single worthy with that hideous video, was a mess. And then IWKWLI. There were other great options which had catchy choruses and more radio friendly that could have been better choices like MTJF, BGK etc. Also the HATEU remix would have done better than the OG. Don't get me wrong, it could be joint decisions between MC and LA and not solely LA's fault, but as the label executive he should have known better. Also the comments he made when she came to epic implying she has no original hits in her and should just sing covers, I felt was a big insult to someone who puts her songwriting over her singing. I think she should just release a great album and what will be will be. But we need a great promotion strategy, plenty of appearances, interviews and a lead song that's gonna grab the attention of radio. It's so much harder with the older artists to get the radio airplay that they need, but I'm hoping Mariah has a great album up her sleeve.
