Well you've certainly changed your tune.

Thanks for the review. Unfortunately I couldn't afford tickets so really keen to hear what the UK lambs thought of the concert. Sounds like you had a great night.

Re: Last Kiss (86,954) (86,956) by Bill from the UK
Agree, it's the best song on the album. Actually I was listening to E=MC2 the other day. I do wish there was a "JD free" version of this album though. He literally doesn't shut up. I'm sitting there fuming after a while. It's like, yes, we all know who it is.

Re: Mariah Carey shelved projects (86,845) (86,849) by Bill from the UK
The only real shelved project we know about is the Angels Advocate album, and probably for good reason. The rest is just speculation until her memoir is released, where she will hopefully shed some light on what was going on in the background. She did say she was contracted to release an album a year when at her original stint at Sony, and 1996 is the only year without an album so potentially something was in the works that got scrapped. But then, Daydream was still churning out hits well into 1996 and selling so all I can conceive being released would be an accompanying live album for the tour.

I hear TJ does car commercials. In Japan.

I love being nosey it's one of my best traits. I'm forever meddling in other people's affairs and I love it.

Lol, now I've actually watched the clip, yes the car is moving haha.

Re: TJ (86,785) (86,787) by Bill from the UK
I suppose the bigger question is around whether it's the right thing to do in wheeling them out on stage in the first place, "irregardless" of the time. Monroe seems to enjoy herself but Rocky always seems bored, scared stiff or disinterested. I guess Nick's okay with it else it wouldn't be happening, but still. Doesn't sit right with me. They've been brought into a life far from ordinary and parenting that must have its challenges. As for seatbeltgate, was the car even moving?

Monroe (86,781) by Bill from the UK
Has anyone else besides me noticed that Monroe is the spitting image of the little girl that played young Mariah in the Someday video? So eerie yet cool at the same time.

Re: 8th Grade (86,752) (86,756) by Bill from the UK
You got it. I think Giving Me Life knocked One Mo' Gen to #2 but now 8th Grade is creeping up. Lol, before long The Distance will be #10 in my ranking.

Re: Music Box v. Daydream v. Merry Christmas (86,721) (86,723) by Bill from the UK
Merry Christmas pretty much eclipses everything vocally. It was, dare I say, her last full on flawless vocal delivery. Daydream is brilliant but her vocals were nasally and brassy and she started breaking up her melisma runs on that album. Then it went downhill from there with her vocals getting worse with every album. Music Box was so middle of the road Mariah almost has a stripe painted down her face. Again, some great moments (AYNAF, Never Forget You), but she doesn't sing full throttle like on Merry Christmas. I can't fault a single line she sings.

Re: Almost Home (86,694) (86,705) by Bill from the UK
There is so much pent up sexual tension on this board it's unreal.

Re: Almost Home (86,667) (86,670) by Bill from the UK
Okay so by "definitely", you mean you're speculating. That's cool but truth of the matter is we don't know what parts Mariah contributed to the lyrics.

Re: Almost Home (86,655) (86,663) by Bill from the UK
Definitely? Has she said specifically what parts of the song she wrote then? Source please as I'm interested to know.

Really good interview. Loving her promo rounds so far. Almost as much as One Mo' Gen.

Re: Lil Kim (86,551) (86,553) by Bill from the UK
Licia you will go down in this board's history as the one who coined the song title "Crapfinity". Haha. As for the ghetto conversation, I don't think MC was trying to get a pass and all that nonsense, I genuinely believe she liked and listened to that music and sincerely wanted to incorporate it into her own sound.

Re: Lil Kim (86,531) (86,536) by Bill from the UK
I do worry the remix of A No No will be ballsed up like Crapfinity's "Why You Crap" was. On paper it looked like it could be okay but the result was the biggest mess she's ever put her name to.

Re: Selected Target stores only (86,481) (86,483) by Bill from the UK
"If Cher, who is dang near 100 years old..." this killed me. So funny because it's true lol.

Re: Mariah sales (86,474) (86,476) by Bill from the UK
Mariah only needs to shift another sixty-five million, nine-hundred and fifty thousand copies to match Thriller. Come on lambs, if we all stream 24/7 and buy multiple copies we can show everyone she's still got it.
(Saturday 24 November 2018; 22:21)
Re: Selected Target stores only (86,454) (86,462) by Bill from the UK
What are the sales figures? More importantly, how far away is it from the 66 million copies some here were predicting it to sell (equalling Michael Jackson’s Thriller was the prediction, if you recall). Caution is a great album but let’s be realistic.

Re: Glitter on iTunes (86,398) (86,420) by Bill from the UK
Glitter has never been available for streaming. Might be a rights issue with Virgin or something. Compilations that has tracks from Glitter (The Remixes with Loverboy, The Ballads with Reflections) often have those tracks removed. Shame because so many people are missing out on a brilliant album with some great album tracks like Lead the Way, If We, Last Night, All My Life. I will be playing the hell out of Glitter once I've gotten over Caution, which may be a while (Giving Me Life may, just may, knock One Mo' Gen from the top spot if it doesn't stop getting better with every single listen).

Re: A lengthy meditation on the album (86,335) (86,356) by Bill from the UK
You're very right about that post coming across as their own insecurities Special K. Exactly my thoughts. No one here knows Mariah personally, the "real me" she sung about in Looking In is more than likely the woman presented before us in 2018. And hell, is it really a big stretch of the imagination to think Mariah wanted to throw her hair back and have some fun on a record, given all that she's been through? She's always said she finds solace in her music. Is it inconceivable that after her divorce, bipolar announcement, Stella etc., that she'd just want to have a good time in the studio? This album is consistent, current, and very, very enjoyable. I think she's done a great job and wish her all the best with it.
