London Daydream Tour Attendee.

Re: What songs should she perform? (80,110) (80,111) by Bill from the UK
Haha Randy you are priceless. You'd just die if she came out singing Right To Dream hehe.

Re: What songs should she perform? (80,097) (80,098) by Bill from the UK
I agree about what's been said about Hero and We Belong Together. I'm also with you all about the Honey performance and the associated trauma is it caused lol. I would go for It's Like That, a new song (or premier the Busta collab, IKWYW part 2), and then round off with Auld Lang Syne. My dream would be for her to sing a rendition of The Perfect Year from Sunset Blvd. There was a British soul singer from the 90s called Dina Carroll who did a beautiful version of it.

Thanks Licia, and to you and yours too. You're my fave.

Merry Christmas (80,060) by Bill from the UK
Merry Christmas to you all and to Mariah and her family. Thank you webmaster for keeping this place running, we're a good bunch overall ha. Appreciate the hard work that must go into the up keep of a very popular website. Hope you all play Merry Christmas and Merry Christmas II You on full blast tomorrow.

Re: Take 2 NYE (80,010) (80,022) by Bill from the UK
I am surprised too but also excited. If she comes out to do the same old songs with pre record then so be it, I hope it at least goes smoothly this time. However, Mariah and her team will know all eyes will be on her performance given the disaster of last year, so she has the opportunity to perform live in fine voice, change up some arrangements to suit her voice, hell, use the publicity and ratings to even drop a new tune out of nowhere. That would be something to remember, talk about, and erase last year’s debacle from memory.

Re: All I Want For Christmas live at St John 1994 (79,981) (79,984) by Bill from the UK
I have, on many occasions, played nothing but AIWFCIY on repeat all day long. In June. It's is the greatest song she's ever written, her best and most dynamic vocal performance, her signature tune, and an absolute joy to listen to. I did laugh and think of you Licia at the weekend. I was getting my hair cut and the radio played Hero. When it ended the DJ was like "that was Hero by Mariah Carey. Well aware I didn't play *that* Mariah Carey song, but don't worry, it will be played later" or something to that effect.

Look. There is archive footage buried somewhere. It’s a crime it is not released. Just re-issue the album and slap on the St John Divine concert as a DVD extra.

Re: All I Want For Christmas live at St John 1994 (79,950) (79,952) by Bill from the UK
Why this entire concert hasn't been released is beyond me. I read that she sang every song from Merry Christmas on there. How incredible would Jesus Oh What a Wonderful Child sound?

Re: 3rd Christmas album (79,936) (79,938) by Bill from the UK
I agree. The two albums are great already and she doesn’t need to go down the Amy Grant route of churning out a Christmas album every two years.

Re: Your own country’s chart (79,900) (79,916) by Bill from the UK
Really I haven’t paid attention to the UK charts since the late 90s but reading that AIWFCIY is back to its original peak of #2 is amazing. It was robbed of the Christmas #1 spot back in 1994. I was devastated at the time and my brother still winds me up about East 17 every Christmas. It would be wonderful if she reached #1. What a feat and probably another record for her.

Haha. A silky smooth slap. I actually think it looks great lol.

Re: She looks great (79,898) (79,903) by Bill from the UK
And there we all were accusing Ariana Grande of copying Mariah's every move, and then out stepped Mariah wearing a ponytail.

Migrate should have been a single.

Re: New pics (79,846) (79,850) by Bill from the UK
I agree, great picture. I know Mariah complains about being covered up in the early days etc. Yet when I watch interviews and performances from the Daydream era in particular, she always looked so fashionable and chic. Like this stylish French sophistication look.

Re: Article: Lovari features Mariah Carey remake (79,784) (79,794) by Bill from the UK
By your logic a number of people have been kicked out of bed by Lovari it would seem. Either that, or he is a terrible singer.

Re: Article: Lovari features Mariah Carey remake (79,770) (79,774) by Bill from the UK
What a load of nonsense.

Re: Article: Lovari features Mariah Carey remake (79,761) (79,769) by Bill from the UK
Hahah I completely agree. I thought Lovari was a comic act at first. He is a dreadful, terrible, atrocious singer. He murdered what is one of the best tracks on Emotions.

Re: Patti on Watch What Happens Live (79,699) (79,715) by Bill from the UK
I agree, she was so gracious and supportive. Part of me feels really glad that Mariah had someone like Patti there for her during that period of her life. It's nice that she wasn't completely alone and that she had someone out there looking out for her, even if from a distance.

Nice review Eddy glad you had a great time. What was new to the set list from the last time you attended? Any nice surprises?

Re: Charmbracelet at 15 (79,644) (79,645) by Bill from the UK
Haha. Just my thoughts. I don't think any other albums of hers paint pictures with the lyrics that way Butterfly and CB do.

Re: Charmbracelet at 15 (79,637) (79,641) by Bill from the UK
At the time the whispering was annoying. I remember on first listen getting about two thirds through the album and getting very hacked off. That had never happened previously (or since). As the years have dragged by, I now appreciate it on a different level. Lyrically it is up there with Butterfly. It’s got some duds like Boy and some filler, but on the main it’s a good cohesive body of work.

I think Princess was actually on the Unplugged video.

You writing that you're treating it as a holiday reminds me of Migrate. That song so should have been a single.

Re: #1's (79,477) (79,479) by Bill from the UK
Yes, a great compilation. Very lucky, though didn't know it at the time, to be in the UK where DYKWYGT (TFM) was added as a bonus track. That became one of my favourite remakes of hers and I remember paying a small fortune for that rare remix picture disc back in the day. I also loved the "12s" promo record box set that was released at same the time. Apparently Mariah intended to include a second disc of remixes with #1's but it was canned. I think that ended up becoming the 12s boxset. I agree as well, she is particularly beautiful in the Sweetheart video, bring back those earth tones. They suited her colouring so well.
