About Bill from the UK: I love Mariah more than you do.

London Daydream Tour Attendee.

Hahah, Trumphamousinity. Brilliant.

Re: Vision Of Love or We Belong Together (71,528) (71,538) by Bill from the UK
As much as I love We Belong Together it can't compete to Vision of Love. That song is perfection from start to finish. 3 and a half minutes, 5 octaves, and a 10 second note later it was like, I've arrived. What an entrance.

Re: Charmbracelet on replay - The one? (71,483) (71,490) by Bill from the UK
The One has long been my favourite from CB, from first listen in fact. I was mortified when Boy replaced it as the second single lol. I too have played CB after reading everybody's comments. It does have some great moments. TTR remix is a great closer to the album, ending on a truly uplifting note. Surprised to see Lullaby standing out as some fan's favourite track. By the 17th chorus I'm like, end already lol.

Re: Mimi L (71,436) (71,440) by Bill from the UK
The Rainbow tour was great. Throughout the show she had all these little skits going on, which were so funny. The best one was a beauty pageant where the contestants were called things like Miss Understood and Miss Informed etc., and Bianca also made an appearance too.

Re: Article: Russian billionaire spends £2.5million hiring Mariah Carey (71,309) (71,324) by Bill from the UK
Completely agree Marissa. I never thought the day would come when I would say these words, but I can actually sing better than Mariah Carey. Wow.

Re: Camouflage or Close My Eyes (71,151) (71,153) by Bill from the UK
Close My Eyes. The imagery in the lyrics is beautiful. It's haunting, soft, hopeful, poignant. Great underrated gem from the back catalogue and what made Butterfly one of her best albums.

Re: Tommy Mottola (70,963) (70,975) by Bill from the UK
Just so we're clear Terna, Mariah is responsible for every great performance, yet every bad performance is down to ear pieces not working, monitors not playing, the weather, colds, sickness, bronchitis, nodules, tiredness, time zone shifts, break ups, breakdowns, divorces, J.Lo scrolling through Instagram and putting her off, malfunctioning humidifiers, Stella, back up singers being on stage and taking her cues, back up singers not being on stage and missing her cues, sabotage, Tommy, mic feed leaks, chaise lounges lifted incorrectly, missed sound checks, creative directors, pre-nup negotiations, post-nup negotiations, and Dick Clark Productions. Did I miss anything?

Re: Tommy Mottola (70,963) (70,973) by Bill from the UK
By that token she is also the common denominator in all her failures too.

Re: Tommy Mottola (70,849) (70,866) by Bill from the UK
Tommy's statement was genius of course, but then he is a genius mind. If anything it serves as a reminder to all who may have forgotten that her most successful period was under his guidance. There is probably an element of guilt associated with it too. He must look at the Mariah of today and realise he set her down that path because of his overbearing nature when they were married. The irony in Stella's response, insulting him because of his age etc., just further helped to prove his point though about the type of people MC has chosen to manage her career. Look, Stella clearly has Mariah's back and fends off who she deems to be haters and attackers and bad press, which is somewhat noble of her, but the manner in which she does it is just embarrassing and low rent. Mariah's established, revered and aspirational career is all but finished now, and that legacy she had is all but forgotten. No casual spectators know of the Daydream tour, the groundbreaking Fantasy remix, the spectacular live specials, the brilliant back catalogue of expertly crafted songs, the career defining approach to remixes. All she's known as now is a vain egocentric with an attitude who gets wheeled out every December to sing All I Want for Christmas Is You a few times, then gets hoisted back up to Mount Diva to hibernate for 11 months. That's the tragedy of this whole thing. We are literally watching the career she worked so hard to achieve slip through her hands, destroyed by her own doing. And Jesus was a cross maker.

Re: New Year performance (70,547) (70,555) by Bill from the UK
I course I watched the clips, what a stupid comment to make. She sang "feels like a dream", "got me feeling", "yeah", "oh" and another "oh". Honestly Terna, even Mimi L and other champions of her career have admitted it was a complete unmitigated disaster.

Re: New Year performance (70,526) (70,545) by Bill from the UK
Terna pull yourself together. She's had bronchitis since 1997 according to you. Her voice is shot because she's an alcoholic. How many colds does she have to have before you realise that? The NYE "performance", if you can call it that, proves she lip syncs across her entire range now. I wonder how long the upper register has been falsified for? At any rate, I honestly give up with her now. She is not the dedicated, hard working, music loving, grown up, respected, mature, great singer she was when I fell in love with her. Now she cares about diamonds, billionaires, splashes, sparkly jump suits and click bait websites. Mariah's gift went years ago. I'll always be a fan of her earlier Sony days, and if all Stella has done is lift the lid on what that naive New Yorker with a gift from God became, then thank God she did. I had a vision of love, and it was all that you turned out to be indeed.

Randy, I love how you mention Right To Dream in every post lol. Stop trying to make Right To Dream happen, it's not gonna happen. Lol.

Re: Randy (68,725) (68,732) by Bill from the UK
The two worst things in the world for a singing voice are alcohol and marijuana. On the Daydream tour, which I attended, during the songs Mariah would sip honey and lemon tea. Now between songs she sips champagne. The evidence of her drinking is in the lyrics of her songs since 1997. The Roof, Babydoll, Crybaby, etc. It is evidenced also who Mariah collaborates with on all her albums and what that culture partakes in. That is what changed her voice. It was her choice and she was free to make it, just as Whitney was, who was equally as highly revered and respected as Mariah was for her vocal talent. I really don't think there's anything to publicly acknowledge as it is perpetually thrown in our faces the exact cause of her vocal change.

Re: Ellen interview (68,605) (68,618) by Bill from the UK
Who takes a bath in a body suit, full make up, and diamonds? Don't make out like it was a randomly captured off guard festive moment when it was as staged as any Broadway musical.

Re: Article: Mariah Carey recording breakup album after split (68,505) (68,517) by Bill from the UK
I don't mind a breakup album, but it needs to be a real breakup album. Previously, breakup (caps) songs (end caps) have appeared on albums that have a heavy sprinkling of crowd pleasing pop (Heartbreaker/Petals, Honey/Butterfly etc.) for balance. A real breakup album is, I think, most affective if it is stripped down to the bare bones. No one would expect MC to put out a complete acoustic affair or a mellow jazz outing but, provided her image is toned down to match the record, it will make more of an impact that the usual R&B formula she's been churning out now for years. Drop the souped up vocals and do an intimate album without the polished sheen. It may not generate a radio hit but it will likely be a hit amongst fans and critics alike. But more than likely we'll get "Portrait of a Lonely Songbird... On the Yacht of Broken Dreams".

Re: Mike Will Made It and Mariah (68,376) (68,381) by Bill from the UK
It's so odd that You're Mine was picked above tracks like Faded and Make It Look Good. Criminal they didn't reach a wider audience really.

Re: Christmas compilations (68,306) (68,321) by Bill from the UK
I don't know if it still applies, but in the original Sony days, Mariah never appeared on any compilation albums. It was not unusual for many of the big name artists to not be on compilations, it was a technique to encourage album sales. Also, if the compilation is not by Sony, then I imagine it would be quite expensive for another record company to license such a popular song.

Re: There Goes My Heart Again - Bill (67,941) (67,972) by Bill from the UK
Hi Licia, glad to hear you appreciate it. I used to skip Making It Last All Night and never listened to Triumphant either, but after others encouraged me to give them another shot, I did and they fast became favourites. There Goes My Heart would have been great on CB. Love that summery, beachy vibe it has.

Re: Unheard vocals - Anytime You Need A Friend (67,827) (67,870) by Bill from the UK
Martyn, thank you ever so much for posting those AYNAF vocals. Wow. That is my favourite song from Music Box and I've always wished for the fade out to carry on, the same with AIWFCIY. I got my wish with the latter and now I have with AYNAF. It sounds like a demo or rough version. Now I'm longing to hear all of MC's fade out songs extended. Particularly Melt Away as she starts hitting that sweet upper register as the song "melts away". Thanks so much, that ended on a high what was for me a pretty terrible day at work.

Re: Remember (67,801) (67,824) by Bill from the UK
The last time all the boxes were ticked was with Touch My Body I think. She looked the best she's ever looked, did worldwide promotion, appearances on countless TV shows, great live performances, a hilarious and fun video and the song was catchy and fresh and everything just worked. And she got what may very well end up being her last number one from it. As for all this Stella talk, no one knows how that partnership works. Everybody who comments on her jumps to conclusions and blames her for every misstep. The personal insults towards her and her children are simply vicious and completely unwarranted, no matter what you think she may have done.

According to my iPod plays, Vision Of Love. It makes sense. Not a day goes by that I don't play it. The first and fairest of them all.
