About Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter:

Re: Nicki Minaj (65,082) (65,085) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
They had Ellen on the show, who is no where near the music industry though. So having Nicki wasn't as far fetched. Nicki was also really popular back then and even though I am not a fan, she really isn't irrelevant. The shooting thing was too much, I'll agree with that, it's not something that she should have said. My main issue is Mariah needs to at one point just let things go and not give it so much attention because at the end of the day she came out on top, so she has no reason to be catty all the time. Giving it any more attention is making her look bad because the others are taking the high road. Others being Nicki, JLo, and all the others. So even though some of them are at fault, people will still sympathize with them and think Mariah is the one who is always throwing shade.

Thanks Shezz. I don't like being negative about Mariah, but I can't really turn a blind eye to some of the things she does, because if someone did the same thing to her, we'd be all up in their business.

Re: Article: "American Idol" contestants react to Mariah Carey (65,057) (65,059) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I am not trying to act like Mariah's career will end because of AI. I don't even care about AI, and even Mariah being on the show didn't give me an incentive to watch it, because honestly it's not my type. No where did I say, if Mariah doesn't do this, she'll flop away. I said that it's been 3 years, she has been through worse and so she should just let it go at this point. She has made it very clear that she didn't enjoy it, no one will forget that, so at this point she can just take the high road and not give it more headlines/interview time than it already got. I don't think a person of her legendary status needs to keep calling a reality show abusive and call her co-workers Satan. Complaining about it whenever it is mentioned won't really do much. Because all people are hearing is "Oh I had to tolerate Nicki's outrageous behavior for a mere 18 million dollars." It's just not a good look. That's all I said.

ET (65,056) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
So the ET interview Mariah did with E. will be airing next week. Here is the promo. She'll be giving a tour of her yacht but they said she'll also announce something big. Now as much as I want to jump with joy, the "big" news might just be her announcing her SSFT Latin America tour haha.

Correction, I mean "with her Rockefeller incident and instead of complaining and burning bridges".

Re: Article: "American Idol" contestants react to Mariah Carey (65,044) (65,053) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
"I wish she would've never gave into doing the show or backed out when she saw that they didn't honor her wishes, because when you agree to do sometime you just have to make the best of however bad the situation is." This is what I feel too. She could have backed out if it bothered her so much. Regardless, what happened has happened three years ago, Mariah has faced worse real abuse in her life. She can surely move past this and dismiss it with a simple "It's just something I wish I wasn't a part of". But going to interviews calling her co-workers Satan, and calling the experience abusive is a tad dramatic. I agree that they shouldn't have added a 4th judge when they didn't do it for Paula and JLo (both before and after Mariah), but surely Mariah got wind of it before she stepped on the promo round? If it bothered her, she had the option of throwing the money on their faces and walked out, she really doesn't need it. Going on and on about it, she is burning bridges with a lot of big names (and no I'm not talking about Nicki). Mariah faced more humiliation with her Rockefeller incident of complaining and burning bridges, she is back to NBC right? That is a professional move. The Radar rumor is something I don't really buy, I don't think they are reputable and at that time everyone was trying to come up with conspiracies to add more fuel to the drama. Anyways I respect your point of view Lamb O' Chop. I always appreciate calm collected thoughts and responses instead of people with one liners saying "I don't agree with the haters like some people on this message board" and then fail to provide a solid argument or even a defense. You are definitely one of my favorites on the board even though we may disagree on things.

Article: "American Idol" contestants react to Mariah Carey (65,035) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Ouch, harsh but true. 18 million is a pretty sweet deal to get over the Nicki drama. But the very first jab at Nicki did come from Mariah when Mariah made the comment about Nicki's fluffy hat saying something about how she would bring her dog as a accessory too if she knew it was allowed and Nicki said "We said we'll play nice." Here is the footage and it was the first day of the audition round. Plus regardless of who did what, it has been 3 years Mariah, get over it really. Calling it abusive again and again, and belittling the word "abuse" is a little too much, even if she is joking. She can clearly go down the "it was fine, I probably won't be doing that again" route.

Circus themed wedding (65,032) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
So I just realized that the whole "circus themed wedding" rumor was started by Mariah's own team and Mariah herself. Remember a while back there was this rumor that Mariah would be having a circus themed wedding where she would be bringing in exotic animals and all? Now in the trailer for Mariah's World, we see that she jokes about wanting "white tigers, albino elephants" for something, supposedly her wedding because the guy on the other end replies with a "we'll have Noah's ark for your wedding". Then after hanging up Mariah says that "if he didn't know I was joking then...". So pretty clear that someone either overheard this and took it seriously or ran with it to get headlines or someone from her team did it on purpose. So then why did Mariah go on and pretend to be surprised that this was even a rumor? Plus Stella's "leaks" do more damage to Mariah than good because general people can actually believe that she would demand such a thing and hence it's pushing the diva thing to new heights. If Mariah wants her new music to sell better, she'll need the public on her side and to get the public on her side, she'll need to appear a little more accessible because an over the top diva act will put people off.

Re: Human chair (64,994) (64,996) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Hahah MC is just so "extra" sometimes. Like woman just stick to your regular velvet chaise lounge. While the press conference got great responses and Mariah's answers were pretty good and witty, I could do without the oiled men bringing her on stage. She has done this so many times in the past year, I just can't.

Re: WTF? (64,984) (64,985) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Bryan Tanaka is also half Japanese. So basically all of them (except for the one on the far right, whose face can't be seen) seems to be of different races. I don't think she's a racist in any way. Her best friend RaeRae is black, her ex-husband (with whom she was head over heels in love with) was black. Her inspirations (Whitney, Patti, Aretha, Diana) are black. Her favorite collaborator, Jermaine Dupri, is black. Her biggest fan, Wendy Williams, is also black. Haha ok sorry about the last part, no Mariah may be a lot of things, but I don't think she's a racist.

Re: From Mariah's Facebook (64,956) (64,977) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
"It's like a cross between Pennywise the Clown and an Eastern European lady of the night." My heart can't take this. Too, damn, much. Hashtag empower your shade. Maybe Stella is going for the "lady of the night" look since she captions most of her photos with "working girls" which can have the same meaning.

Re: 25 Times Mariah Carey's Instagram... (64,971) (64,974) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
This is what really pisses me off about Stella. Like let it go, take the advice and try to change the captions. Ask Mariah how she would caption it and just type it out in the future (and do a darn spell check). But no, instead she'll go and try to get an article to justify stuff. Like previously she got Mariah to release the statement about how "Stella is the greatest and made her a lot of money" and now this. It's either her trying to do that or lashing out at low level tabloids. Just try to take the advice and work on it. Stop being so childish. At this point Mishka's captions are more mature than Stella's stupid antics.

Re: 25 Times Mariah Carey's Instagram... (64,971) (64,973) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I died and stopped reading at "it’s safe to assume the person running the account is Ms. Carey herself". Ok then I guess the person writing songs that we've loved and admired since 1990 is definitely not Mariah, because the "real Mariah" clearly does not have a strong grasp on the language.

Licia dahlin' stop playing and tell us the truth, you were hanging out with Mariah on the Arctic P (that's what Packer's boat is called right?). I need details on the top secret album being recorded and does Stella's contour have a life of its own when you see it face to face? Haha welcome back. You have been missed.

Re: From Mariah's Facebook (64,960) (64,967) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Haha I was all about the first body suit she wore during SSFT, the really glam silver/white one. But after that she started wearing it so much, even during "Hero" and all, it got weird. I am not a fan of her always gowns too, but she can easily just wear shorter dresses or other outfits. Bodysuits are fine for people who actually dance.

Pictures from the press conference (64,950) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Woah Mariah, I wasn't ready to be slayed like this. Of course she came on a purple velvet chaise lounge, I mean who sits on normal chairs during a press conference haha. She looks exactly like her 2008 self in this one. This is the era of bra out, bodysuits and oiled up men haha, honestly I thought this was funny. Usually I am like Mariah calm the heck down with all the diva act, but here it actually is funny because it is so apparent that she is doing this as a joke to play up what the public thinks. Um fat who? Splashes. This is from her instagram. Her humor is back in the conference, most of her quotes from it were hilarious.

Mariah's World (64,948) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
So the second is out and this is even better than the first one. I actually love it, she is in a slide, there is a moment she is crying, we already get to see the wedding dress. I loved the trailer. It has humor and she seems to be enjoying herself. It's cute. And I love that she is using "Emotions" and "Fantasy" for the background songs, I mean these how do these songs still sound fresh?

Promo image (64,930) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Here is the promo image. Thoughts? There's something really off about the image. First of all, it looks like her head has been photo shopped from another picture. Then the whole posture just looks off. Like what is going on? Why is this the promo image? Does Mariah have no promo budget anymore? I mean this picture is the same as her instagram picture, which was probably taken by either Mishka or Stella. And they use that, with a photo shopped head for the promo shot of her reality show, oh sorry, docu-series? The Kardashians would never settle for this.

I will never understand why the take forever to make announcements. Like the whole thing with this second leg of the SSFT tickets, now this. Where on earth is the official release?

Re: Mariah's World logo (64,920) (64,926) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
So is the promo picture for the SSFT. How is this even a flattering picture? She had so many gorgeous shots live from stage. Secondly, what is up with that hideous edit? I swear for one of the richest musicians in the world, Mariah sure hand picks the worst people to do her work.

Random (64,919) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Mariah looks nice here, I like the subtle makeup. I don't know how I feel about the dress yet. I have to say, Stella actually looks good without that garish orange tan and red lipstick, the signature contour excess is still there but she actually looks quite pretty here. Last but not the least, Mariah's World has a new profile picture and let me just say, have you all ever seen a more professional edit job? I think not.

Cheap Thrills (64,916) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
This song is perfection. Mariah should definitely work with Sia. I think they have such different styles that Sia can take Mariah to a different direction. Sia also likes to collaborate with people who bring creative input to the table, that is why she praised Katy Perry so much while simultaneously somewhat dissing Rihanna and Beyonce for not being involved with the writing process. As much as I love JD-MC collaborations, I think that should be limited to a couple of songs, while she goes ahead and tries out new producers and songwriters to collaborate with.
