I love Disney too especially the old classics but I can't imagine Mariah doing a Disney song again. I count "Almost home" because it was for "Oz" made by Disney. They usually die broke. She's got money because she wrote 17 number 1 singles so songwriters will always have royalties paid out. Back to my first sentence. The label isn't supporting her or investing much into her project. They released a buzz single with a budget conscious video instead of being bold and sending the song to (caps) all radio formats, especially when it started to become a meme. Then they decide to do instant grats and release half the album to get the young streaming markets attention and that didn't work because kids only stream what's popular and on trend and she is neither unless it's Christmas. All her other projects she didn't promote much and had poor roll outs so retailers understocked her cd and anyone that does buy her music buys the cd and since it's not stocked she was never going to have a big first week sales. Then the label finally decides to release With You and only sends its to AC stations. No pop, not top 40. That had to be a bitter pill for her to swallow. Can you image being used to having your song sent to all formats only to find out the label is putting you out to pasture on AC only. It's got tax write off written all over the project. She already had these concerts lined up but I was proud that she at least promoted the heck out of it for the little free time she had with good performances and insightful interviews. Jennifer Lopez is on Epic as well but they dump tons of money her way on big budget videos and A list collabs like Cardi on Dinero yet she keeps flopping. She's releasing another single and the label paid for French on that one. A No No at least got sent to urban which is her only chance in hell at garnering a decent hit and it's already gaining spins but she needs the label to send it to pop and top 40. If it's not a big enough hit on urban to cross over the era is done. You see she wanted Cardi and Kim and the label only bothered to pay for Stefflon Don and even did a crappy version of a remix. If I were her I'd tour too at least to make some kind of money at this point. At least the tour isn't a rehash and worth attending. Just my thoughts. (Friday 22 March 2019; 06:25)

Okay, please nobody get mad (88,741) by Dove from United States I was watching Disney princess videos and I just hatched an idea I had to share. This will probably never happen but dream with me. Okay, what if they did a live action movie of The Little Mermaid and Mariah played (a hot) Ursala and Ariana Grande played Ariel (with the red hair she had on Victorious). Mariah could wear this dress and they could CGI the tentacles. She could wear a wig with long light (white) hair and wear the dramatic Ursula makeup and red nails. They could paint her skin that pink yet lavender color. I imagine her really getting into character and singing it with the sass of the cartoon. And I love Mariah's speaking voice. They could film it in a zero gravity chamber so their hair can float around like they're under water. It would kinda make fun of what's said about her and show that she doesn't take herself too seriously. I like the lyrics because she sings: "I admit that in the past I've been a nasty. They weren't kidding when they called me, well, a witch." And "I fortunately know a little magic, it's a talent that I always have possessed. And dear lady, please don't laugh I use it on behalf of the miserable, the lonely, and depressed." Because there have been reports that she is not nice and also to me she's magic so that part fits too. I feel like a lot of us lambs have said Mariah's music has gotten us through tough times when we were depressed. I think it would get people talking and would be funny and hopefully look and sound good. Even if it wasn't a whole movie, just that song Poor Unfortunate Souls. (Friday 22 March 2019; 02:08)

The whole industry is like that, it's not just R&B. As an artist, Mariah should be able to do that. That is why I have always said her only way forward is to collaborate. That's how artists learn and get inspired. With all her money, she should be working with new and inspired artists, support them, and with that she learns from them too. But she is surrounded by the same paycheck people who have no new ideas. Also, this is somehow related to the streaming discussion. This is actually what streaming is about, taking control of your creative destiny and cutting the fat in your team. Streaming is a platform that brings artists directly to the listeners, no label executives in the middle who brings no artistry to the table. The hot artists now are everyday relatable people. That trend imo peaked with Adele and continued on with Halsey, Ariana, etc and it will not go back to how it was before. The diva worship is over. They are relegated to tribute shows. Mariah is an R&B artist and R&B music is no longer popular music. Mariah's commercial performance will improve once R&B is popular again. Mariah's commercial downturn is intricately linked to R&B's. Personally I feel like MC is trying to focus more on the touring side of things as are most artists nowadays. I believe that with Caution she wanted to bring new music to the touring because even though she can continue to cash in on her back catalog I am sure performing the same music and material can become very boring. Also I believe she felt that she needed to prove that she can still make quality music but also make the music that speaks to her. (Thursday 21 March 2019; 21:01)

Princess (88,730) by Dove from United States Another way to appeal to the younger generation (and turn them on to her voice) is if she did the voice for a Disney princess movie. Like how Mandy Moore did Tangled and Idina Menzel did Frozen. I loved Disney animated movies when I was a kid (still do) and played them on repeat. Even now when I watch The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, and Aladdin it takes me back to a warm nostalgic place. Those songs and voices are a part of me. (I know she did AIWFCIY and it's cute and was definitely added to the list of Christmas movies we watch every year, along with A Christmas Melody, but it's not a Disney movie.) She doesn't have to write the movie but she could team up with one of those Disney songwriters to write the songs. But no rap please because the goal is to appeal to as many people as possible. Not sure what classic fairytale but there are so many to choose from, I'm sure they could come up with something. (Thursday 21 March 2019; 16:31)

This reminds me of when the embarrassingly photo shopped "You Don't Know What To Do" single cover art was released and she chirped it on social media. Mariah shades A No No remix (88,728) by T from USA I traveled all the way to the Toronto show last night and it was well worth it the moment she shaded the "remix" by starting the Fantasy remix with saying how to her, remixes are supposed to be redone in creative new ways. Keep in mind that it takes a whole lot of streaming from a lot of people to impact charts and if Mimi has her base scattered, confused or worse, no longer interested, then she has a big problem. You can Google it, but it takes over 1,200 streams from a paid subscription to equal one album unit and over 3,000 streams from an ad supported service to equal one album unit, so you can't discount physical sales or download equivalent impact. I don't think fans (including myself sometimes) know the line between unrealistic expectations and having great faith in her potential. It's hard to discern if the odds are just against her and everyone needs to lighten up or if she has dropped the ball in some area (which has often been the case). The question is she not doing as well because of her age, our new musical climate, poor promotion, an unrelatable image, or the musical content just isn't what the majority of people want these days? Also, I find it embarrassing seeing lambs begging or even bullying others to make a song chart to make up for the gp's ambivalence towards her career. I want Mariah to have a successful album because she earned the attention of the general public and lambs alike, not because the same 30 lambs are calling in sick from work to stream songs and endlessly refresh videos. It's like stuffing the ballot box because you don't want your friend to get her feelings hurt if she doesn't win for class president. I think the real question is what is Mariah's intention when she puts out music? Is it just a hobby now? Does she care more about chart success or critical acclaim? Is it about having touring opportunities so she can maintain her lifestyle? I think if she was more clear about what she wants out of her efforts the lambs would be able to decide what they should do (adjust expectations or leave the fanbase). Otherwise, it's only natural to believe that an artist's main intention when putting music out is to be commercially successful, hence why every era people come up with suggestions that they think would help attain that. My thing is complaining about the same issues day in and day out will not change anything until MC herself wants to make anymore changes. It's either accept where she is and what she wants to do at this point in her life and career or leave it alone. I miss certain things about 90's MC, but I can appreciate MC in 2019 as well because she is being true to herself and she gave me in my opinion a great quality album this last go round. Majority of people stream on their phones and many other devices at many different places. 2. People stream for convenience. You get so many songs with you if you have a phone or any streaming devices. People don't get streaming subscription because they want songs to chart lol. 3. I don't know what the "tabs" mean. You don't need to open "tabs" on your computer browser to stream. Honestly I don't understand what that post was even about. 4. IP address post: No, each time you play a song, that counts as a stream each, hence if you play it 10 times, you streamed it 10 times. 5. To that one poster, I stream on my phone most of the time, I walk to work, on the bus, and at work. When I do drive it's in the car too. I like having any song I want when I work out too. 6. Speakers have no relationship with streaming. Indirect equivalence. My dad loves streaming because he can tell Alexa to play anything anywhere in the house and he's got great audio system connected anywhere in his house. 6. I stream a song many times because I love a song same not because I want an artist to chart. I'm speechless for that false equivalence. You know kind of like when you put a CD on repeat? The difference is that the likelihood of playing a song on repeat is higher on streaming because its with you all the time. 7. If you live in a remote country, you probably won't stream. When you have set the bar so high and have shown people who have financially supported you what you are capable of, they are going to have expectations. When you are lazy and complacent at your job after awhile Gee, wouldn't they give you a bad evaluation, write you up or fire you? What happens to a recording artist? Or a singer that doesn't sing, lip syncs? They get lower sales and maybe bad press. But they still get residuals from when they were great right? And because when they were great they saved millions of dollars so they actually could live off of their money, right? But what about you Gee? Do you still get a check from the great work you did 20 years ago? So this is when you say, "Well, fire Mariah." The thing is, I still believe in this woman. She constantly says she cares what the fans think. I even think she spies on us. We ask for no more callabos. We get MOAIA. We ask for no more lip syncing and she starts struggling through performances. We say fire Stella, she does. So when we ask for her to mature from eternally 12 to, I don't know, Adele's age, because she'll never accept 50, I can't help but believe she will. Finally, if there's nothing else that will convince you that Andrew, Edward, myself, and a few others are still fans. We are here. I could be doing anything else. Grading papers. Finding a man. Finding Special K because she still thinks I'm cute. P.S. When diehards, mainly me, have counted her out before, she's shocked the hell out of us. I said her voice was done after the 98 embarrassments and 99-00 lipsyncing. She was perfection and live at A Home For The Holidays in 2001. I said she will never sell again after Glitter and Charmbracelet. And she came back with TEOM. I said her voice is shot and it's all smoke, mirrors and studio tricks after MOAIA and she gave me that impromptu for the fans at Jimmy Fallon in 2012. I said her music is stale and she only sticks to pop/r&b and then she gave me Meteorite on MIAMTEC. So excuse me if I stick around for MC to prove me wrong again or shock the hell out of me.
