Re: Um what? (63,827) (63,838)

I try to keep an open mind and be objective as much as I can with Mariah while trying to be her biggest defender. Honestly, I can't find one nice thing to say about her outfit. It's nasty, hideous, declassé, trashy, and makes her look worse than a prostitute on a summer day. She honestly pissed me off and this is a first with her for me. I can't defend her this time. There is no objective or words to say. She just looks horrendous. She looks like the mother who lost her way and decides to kill on Holloween. Run children, run as fast as you can from the crazy lady. Haha and lol. I am sad to say I don't feel sorry for her this time. At least her face looks nice.

Where did I say she has to be a nun or cover herself up completely? There is dressing sexy if she wants, and then there is not dressing at all. If the Kardashians is the route she wants to take, then well I don't really have much to say. But are you suggesting Mariah needs to take off her clothes to get shows and TV offers? You don't think her talent is enough? Also how did this whole taking off clothes for attention work out for Madonna after she crossed her mid 40s? Not too well, since she became a joke. You enjoyed it, good for you. I didn't, that's my opinion.

As a straight fan, I loved it. I mean, why the hell has she to be a nun when female artists older and younger than her are showing more skin in magazines and on stage? Hell, she still is a prude compared to those chicks on AGT and the Kardashians. All of these other female celebrities that are getting TV shows and movies due to being naked, and you complain about Mimi in lingerie? Call me when she does something illegal.

Wow. Why hasn't this video gone viral? Her team needs to get this out there. I would love a new single where she sings acapella live so she can show off her chops. I love how she floats through her many different registers. As soon as you think you've seen the best version of TGIFY she comes up with a better one. Gifted to be able to change it up every night.

Best My All yet, although I love all the different versions she has given us this year. I love the new add libs. "Yes I would, do you believe me when I"m talking to you baby, I said I would, you know I will, I'm gonna do, my all for you, give it all." Lol.

Brazilian newspapers have been giving the news. You can read it here. It's in Portuguese, though. But it confirms she starts in October 28 in Buenos Aires, Argentina and then she has Chile and Brazil. Some Brazilian lambs have been asking Stella why she is not going to Rio, and well, I get it, Brazil is a big country, but my disappointment was bigger when I didn't read Mexico in that list. So sad she didn't include Mexico when it is in the top 5 cities where MC is more listened on Spotify. This week was in 3rd place for example. How can her team ignore those numbers?

1OAK Mariah forgot her pants (63,830)
by May from Denmark
| |
|

Wowzers, she looked mega hot but cringe worthy at the same time. I don't know why, though it doesn't surprise me of Mariah, I feel that this is more of a Madonna or Lady Gaga stunt. Was it a stunt? She looked beautiful, I loved her confidence and her hair. I still must ask as I wonder, since she has been hanging more with DJ Sussone she seems tipsy and high. Is it just my idea? Should I shake it off my head?

The idea of a period movie sounds awesome and me too RJJ, always played in my head a whole movie out of "Betcha gon' know". Mariah would look great in a 1960s comedy set or a 1940s war movie, I totally dig these ideas. Hopefully the writers will come up with something original. Hallmark produces nice weekend home family movies but they have been stuck in the same for a long time. To think they started with independent films is surprising.

I honestly don't know what Mariah was thinking when she decided to wear this for her 1OAK appearance. Moreover, once inside the club she opened up her jacket to reveal her full lingerie moment. I'm sorry but this is a little excess and unnecessary. I get it, she's feeling her body and she worked hard for it, but this is worse than tacky. I also get it's a club, but it's not a strip club. Wear a freaking micro mini if you want, but why show up in your lingerie? I guess now I can't make fun of Madonna showing up in places half naked and call her desperate.

Wow, thanks. The power of "Vision of love" always gets me. I love that song so much. This is 100% Mariah, she made a statement forever with her first song. She's and will always be the best, if it comes to "emotions".

Trayvon and qhm, yes whatever movie she does, needs to be done right. She is keeping everything on lock from idea thieves, but hopefully she is thinking the retro route, for the nostalgia.

Yes that's true. I heard that last week on his podcast after his honest commentary about their Vegas shows. He didn't said that JLo's not good, he even said JLo is a good performer, it's just that he likes Mariah's show more. Who's classy now? So it's not big of a deal as everybody makes it out to be, JLo? You even said that you don't really buy in to all of the nonsense but you're not happy about what Perez said? Well it makes sense.

I also would like to see Mariah direct a period piece, simply for the fact that I am obsessed with anything retro (she did star in one and we all know how that went down). However, the challenge with taking on such projects is trying to be true to the era portrayed in every aspect possible, not just limited to fashion, music and decor. Failing in the aesthetic and atmospheric aspects would just open her up to ridicule. Remember when Madonna did W.E. in 2011, it bombed both critically and commercially. And yes, I know that Madge did that with award considerations in mind while Mariah's just making another movie for Lifetime. But if she was going to direct anything, it should be at the very least passable so that she won't be the subject of even more criticism. So period film or not, I hope the most acting she gets in this upcoming project is a cameo appearance. And if she does star/co-star in it, I hope she doesn't attempt to pull crap such as trying to make the audience believe that she and Lacey Chabert are of the same age. That could come across not only as desperate but also insulting to the audience. No one, not even Mariah's worst haters, would want that to happen again.

Re: MC saving herself for marriage? (63,809) (63,816)
by Marissa from USA

Despite this report, I personally don't believe that they are waiting, especially since the wait for their actual wedding has been/is going on indefinitely. Also let's not get it twisted about this "waiting for marriage thing". The average person these days who is "waiting" uses every sexual loophole in the book during the waiting period, so I don't get impressed when I hear people saying that. It's easy to wait when you're still being gratified in some way.

JLo - Mariah (63,815)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
| |
|
|
So remember how after Perez watched Mairah and JLo's show back to back on consecutive nights, he said he liked Mariah's show better overall? He said it looked more personal because of all the nostalgic videos, that it looked more big budget than JLo's and that Mariah really made it seem like she was really happy to be there, and even though Mariah can't dance, she is an amazing singer and she delivered a strong show. He said the JLo one was good too and he didn't leave unhappy but it looked small budget and not as detailed as Mariah's. So apparently JLo's team was not happy about it. They sent a stern message to Perez where they made it clear they were not happy with their comments. Probably fearing that Perez with his many listeners may influence people who would otherwise think that JLo's show would be more entertaining (with all the unnecessary bum shaking) to actually go to Mariah's show instead of JLo's. So now her team is pissed and apparently he was told JLo is not happy with it. Perez was even asked if it's because the venue of Jennifer's show that could have been a possible limitation but he said clearly that he watched Britney in the same venue and even Britney's one looked more big budget.

My All (63,814)
by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
| |

I feel like My All is one of Mariah's more accomplished works in the sense that it has everything going for it in every possible aspect. Dramatic Latin flair. Outstanding production. Great lyrics. Timeless video. Seductively melancholic vibe. Killer vocals (utilizes Mariah's rarely used lower register, leading to one of her best ever vocal climaxes towards the end). Effective emoting. Excellent remixes. Undeniably radio-friendly. Both critical and commercial success. And of course, that breathtaking melody. It's also one of the few Latin-tinged ballads that still receive regular airplay, as well as one of the few songs that are instantly recognizable within the first few seconds of playing thanks to its simple yet memorable opening. These qualities put it up there with VOL, Emotions, AIWFCIY, Hero, Fantasy, ABMB and WBT as her signature songs.

Chante Moore: P. Diddy stole my hit song for J.Lo (63,813)

Looks like JLO has a history of having Svengali's steal songs from other artists. Looks like Mariah and Chante have more than just having Kelly Price hate on them in common.
