NYHoTShotta (51,256) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Hey, well I was never hoping for pristine vocals. Infact if you re-read my posts, you will see I was one of the people who was defending her skit from the start. I also mentioned that I am glad she sat back and let James Cordon get the spotlight instead of trying to show off her voice. Just saying. Bottom line, I have maintained that Mariah's vocal talents should not be judged based on a skit that is supposed to be funny.

Weakness Of The Body (51,255) by Lainsky from Philippines
I came across with her demo tape on YouTube and I found this song really nice. It would be great if she will record it today and make it as carrier single of her upcoming re-edition of #1s, if she's going to include new songs. I think it would be better if it is a 2-CD album. All her 18 number 1s on one CD and new or unreleased songs like this one on the other. That would be awesome. I am sorry but I can't get over with this song. It sounds so fresh after 29 years.

Tidal (51,252) by 123 from USA
Jay-Z and a bunch of artists launched their own way of accessing their music called Tidal. I've been on it all day and they have great array of music. Mariah should give Jay and B a call and jump on this as well. It would be great press and a new way of releasing her album.

New global release date for albums July 10th (51,251) by 123 from USA
Do you think Mariah will wait until July 10th to release her album globably? Releasing her last album on different dates really hurt her last release. What does everyone else think? Do you think her next release should be released on the same date globally?

Mariah (51,250) by Marcel from Montréal, Canada
I think she's not dating Brett but you have to remember back in 08 no one believed she'd married that thug Nick when she actually did it. If they're together, good for them but, who needs a relationship anyway? She doesn't need that. Someone said MC wouldn't date a guy who sports a homeless look lol, what about Nick's vulgar look? What about Mariah's look for God's sake? The dated extensions, untrendy blond, the so unnatural tanned make-up and always, no matter where, [censored] that's not precisely the nicest look. Also, don't know why she hasn't been able to drop those extra kilos she has on. I know [censored] will always make her look heavier than her actual build but [censored]. I hope she's working on getting in shape. She's been able to do so [...]. On her career, I'm sure that if she listens to her new [...] team and takes advices she can really come back to a pretty decent point. And about the carpool thing, guess nobody wanted her to show-off vocally (like if she could) but she should've sung like anyother singer would have. To me she had that nervous look in her eyes like "I won't be able" and guess that's why she started the skit as usual: "I won't be singing because I've had no sleep" or "I have a cold", you know, that tired excuse of hers. Anyway, good to know she has plenty of plans for 2015 other than the Vegas thing and hope, really deeply hope this time around it turns out good for her and as consequence, for us.

Re: Mimi L / carpool karaoke (51,249) by NYHotShotta from USA
She said in the video she was up all night or all morning or something like that so that's why sounded like that. She probably was singing in the studio all night so that's why she couldn't deliver the pristine vocals you were hoping for. But I thought it was good to see her be cool and not worry about lighting or camera angles.

Tide (51,247) by Will from England
I'm quite aware that this is not directly MC related, however, I just wanted to hear your thoughts on the new music streaming platform that Jay-Z and co have just launched. Would you sign up for it, if artists like MC began to withdraw their songs from other streaming services Spotify like Taylor S did a few months ago (a move that I applaud by the way), if it meant they could get a bigger royalty cheque elsewhere? To me, it means that more artists are getting more control over their songs, and finding the best ways in which they can share the creativity with the world, whilst also making sure that they're getting paid properly, which is a good thing. I dislike services such as spotify because (from my own experience from publishing), if you release material that is a part of a service in which the listener (or reader) only has to pay a subscription amount, and not pay the full price for the product, then you know you're going to be paid dust for it. Great for the listener, bad for the artist. With Tide, the concept suggests that it would be more equal ground. Can't wait to read more about how it actually works. Looking forward to reading your thoughts.

It's so good to see MC out having fun with her friends. She looks happy. I also enjoyed seeing the pictures of little Monroe. She is so cute.

The power of media (51,245) by Jono from USA
Whether or not Mariah and Brett are together (I highly doubt they are), I'm certain it is to slowly drum up publicity about Mariah's new projects. With social media highly accessible nowadays, celebrity gossip spreads like wildfire. Hollywood and music agents have picked up on this, and will actually set up high profile people to hang out, creating gossip. Sure it can be tacky, but people love to eat gossip up and it sells. Obviously I'm not calling Mariah and Brett attention seekers, I'm just saying this is a good move because even if this inevitably ends up on the tabloids, it's putting Mariah back in the public conscious. It's also erasing the negativity of 2014. Instead of her shaky performances and weak commercial sales, it's now about who she may or may not be with. Of course us lambs are smart enough to know that they are just friends and collaborators, but the general public doesn't know that and this will only create interest. Her stint with James Corden also created positive publicity for her, and I'm guessing right now her and her team are focused on changing the public's perception of Mariah. She's a real girl, so they're slowly shifting the tide from diva to down to earth. I don't buy any of the gossip crap, but if it's going to put more attention on her upcoming projects, I'm all for it. Just don't get crazy with the stories.

Christmas movie and Idina Menzel (51,244) by Ethan from United States
I have a guts feeling that the reference that Mariah tagged Idina is perhaps that she might be involved in the new Christmas movie, which will be directed by Ratner inspired from Mariah's music. Mariah loves Christmas and with the momentum of Frozen, this movie might do very well. In addition, this is the first time Mariah has written a Christmas song for other female singers. She wrote "Where are you Christmas?" for Faith Hill. So I hope that Idina Menzel is involved in this Christmas movie and I actually don't think Mariah has a leading role but more like an unexpected supporting role. I think she shines in supporting roles and leaves the leading role to another actress. If this comes true, I think it'd be great.

Maybe you are right, but it's nice to see Mariah moving forward and seeing that the damage might have been temporary. It also seems like there is a little more substance here than with the other guy that only knew about gyms and making himself famous.

Together, no (51,241) by Cgee54 from Usa
Mariah and Brett in my opinion are not that serious about each other, if anything they're just giving the public the illusion of having something together. I'm glad Mariah is finally out and showing Nick Cannon that she can find someone as well. Do I see these two officially dating? No.

Mariah and Brett Ratner is a no no (51,240) by MIAM from United Kingdom

Filming new music video and Christmas movie (51,239) by nikki from usa
Brett and MC were vacationing in St. Maarten. Their birthdays are 1 day apart so they decided to celebrate them together since they've been working on new projects together. Brett called in to radio station 101.1 on the island and MC chimed in on their new projects together. A movie based off her hit Christmas song and a new music video. For anyone else interested Brett says Rush Hour 4 is underway soon. Happy anniversary MC.

A pre-fame Mariah Carey hopes for "some success" (51,238) by Natalia from Argentina
Guys have you seen this?
(Monday 30 March 2015; 1:58)
Mariah and Brett (51,236) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I don't think it's a good idea. First and foremost, didn't Brett say before that MC is like a sister to him? Come on guys. Secondly (sorry Jon, I have to disagree) I don't think moving on so fast is a good thing. Getting over an ex fast is good, but moving on so fast, especially on to someone you have been so close to for years, in my opinion is bad, because one might confuse comfort for love. As in they might be vulnerable and might feel they are falling in love with the person who is comforting them at that moment. Thirdly I love Brett and he is really talented but I think MC needs to be with someone on her same level if not a little above her. Fourthly and I am regretting saying this and I hope people don't call me out for it but really Brett is looking pretty bad lately. What's up with the homeless look? You are a rich director. Fifth and most importantly, I wouldn't want Mariah to date a really close friend. There are many ways it might not last in the long run and that might cause a rift between the friendship these two individuals value so dearly.

I like Ratner, big vote for him (51,235) by jaker20 from US
I hope it's true. I never really liked Nick. I always thought he's a user, loser and social climber. Ratner is more within MC's alley. Surely he's more disciplined otherwise he won't be an accomplished filmmaker. They have also known each other for a long time. Nothing sweeter than ending up with a long time friend who was there through thick and thin. He's also within her age range but he actually looks young for his age. He's also kind of cute, if he loses weight. Nonetheless, he's still much better than a pretentious gym nut like Nick who goes to gym all the time and thinks he's all that. I think he will sort of put MC in her place, but not necessarily control her. If they end up together, it'll be good for MC in my opinion. It might be too soon, but something to think about in the future.

Romance (51,234) by Jon from Netherlands
I hope Mariah and Brett are together. Moving on this quickly is great. Sometimes the best love is found with someone you don't even think is your type. They seem to have fun together and it would be nicer to see Mariah with a maturer man instead of a childish self-absorbed idiot.

Hypnotized (51,233) by Luke from United Kingdom
I was thinking how random it was for Mariah to mention that she was listening to this demo on Twitter sometime ago. It would be so amazing if she used it as a new single and any other unheard demos. I think that's been brought up before, but using unknown demos for singles would surely cause a frenzy. It would also be an amazing selling point for the album. Plus, it's her work that became the foundation for her 25 year career. So it would fit perfectly.

Image and personality changes (51,232) by Ethan from United States
Yes. I agree with you all about how she and her team are trying to make her more likable again and reminding us how great she is throughout these years. If you have noticed, she's been posting a lot of of throwback pictures lately on Instagram of Anytime You Need A Friend, Forever, and Butterfly and those pictures got so much more likes on Instagram and Facebook compared to other pictures. It's also a marketing strategy to get her fans to go to Vegas for her older hits. Some of you have already said that on here. Even though it's calculated but it comes off as genuine and cute. As long as the new music is good, people will buy the updated #1s cd. I wonder if she's going to drop it as a surprise album. Either way works as long as there's substance because artists still schedule their cds and they sell well. In one more month, there will be a lot of things going on: new single and music video, radio and tv promotions, and perhaps a new cd. Can we have another ballad of the continuation of WBT with Wentworth Miller and Ratner direct it? A heartbreak song because he dies in the video? On another note, Celine Dion announced that she will return in August, I wonder whether or not it will affect Mariah's ticket sales but I think that they do have a very different pool of fans and a small portion of them like both including me. That means May and July 2015 dates are the only ones that Mariah is performing in Vegas this year so I think fans should go and see her or wait until 2016.

UK fans - Stars In Their Eyes (51,230) by Martyn from England, UK
Just wanted to give a heads up to all the UK Mariah fans. Challenge TV is currently repeating early 90s episodes of Stars In Their Eyes each Saturday evening. They're currently on the 1993 series, and I believe in the next episode or two a lady performs as Mariah Carey (you can actually see it online here). She sings Vision Of Love and doesn't sound anything like her, but surprisingly she wins. Anyway, I thought I'd give you a heads up so you can see it, and also because she sings Love Takes Time in the final and I've never seen it before.

Mariah 2015 (51,228) by LC from USA
I feel like this era is gonna be full of excitement. Judging from her move to Epic, and her surprise radio appearance, it seems that Mariah and her team/label definitely have a pretty solid plan for her this year. We know that the new Number Ones album will be released in May, and since a new video has already been filmed, or is in the process, we know that the newest single will most likely be released within the next month. And, assuming Mariah knows that today's radio isn't for "You're Mine (Eternal)"-type records, she knows this has to be an uptempo radio smash. And, the Christmas movie and annual Beacon Theater shows show that Mariah definitely has a plan for the whole year. Eric Bradley, from Chicago's B96, and Mariah's dear friend, said that he was looking forward to a lot of exciting Mariah moments coming up soon, and even Mariah said that she was excited for all that was coming up in 2015. She and her label know where she stands right now, she knows that people are doubting her vocals, that she's seen as a huge diva and as "irrelevant" and "replaceable" by the general public. Is Mariah the type to let all that just happen? No. She will make a comeback. It may not be TEOM sized, but she will come back and she'll remind everyone why she is the songbird supreme. Get ready for a longtime coming return, lambs. Mariah is just getting started. I really want Mariah to slay this year, and as we can see, there is definitely a plan in place for her. But, what I want to see is Mariah really out there, being "cool" to the public, like Jennifer Lopez (dare I mention her name?), while also being acknowledged as a legend and having relevance on radio. It's hard for a female in her 40s to achieve that, especially in the digital age, but I think that if Mariah works really hard, she can do it. I want to see her doing funny skits on Jimmy Fallon and Kimmel, and Ellen, and showing her fun side to the public who should've seen it during Idol. But, above all, I want a reemphasis on Mariah's voice. Similar to TEOM, but more hardcore. It would be amazing if she appeared on shows promoting Number Ones by singing her new single, but by also singing Vision Of Love. Imagine that. Clearly, as seen in Jamaica, she is more than capable of singing this song in her current vocal state, and she has never lipped that song, so it would be undeniably live and it would show the public that she can still sing live. It would be like bringing her career full circle and celebrating her 25th anniversary. That's my two cents. Really, I'm just excited that I will get to see Mariah out and about and on TV and hopefully on the radio with new videos. Go MC.
