The mark of a true fan, lol (48,575) by Stacey from USA Over the years, I've had my fair share of drama with past and present members. Some have questioned my fanhood, called me names, etc. A lot of times we don't see what we as individuals outside of this forum do on a daily basis. During the Christmas season, I have played AIWFCIY a ton. So much so lately that last night as I got some take out for dinner, my 6 year old daughter sang bits and pieces of it on her own. It was so cute. She even requests it in the car without me saying anything. So the next time anyone wants to question my love of Mariah's music, check yourself. Signature song (48,574) by B from USA What is Mariah Carey's signature song? When it comes to most artist it's usually their biggest hit. Celine's was My Heart Will Go On and Whitney's was I'll Always Love You but when you try to pick out Mariah's signature song things get tricky. Always Be My Baby? One Sweet Day? We Belong Together? I'm always torn between Breakdown and The Roof. Vision Of Love? Hero? You can say a lot of thing about Mariah but claiming that her hits aren't hits is insane. Most of her hits have set airplay records that haven't been bested and her sells most likely never will be so I cant even get your point Randy. Every single she released in the 90's had a b-side or must have remix included so her fans never were cheated, some even have several remixes. I know people that aren't lambs that love the remix of TGIFY. It was huge. So huge in fact that Joe decided to include the remix on his album instead of the original. Thank God I Found You was a numer one hit because the predecessor Heartbreaker was number one, then it's easier to have people and radiostations waiting for the follow up single. The fans buying the singel plus airplay is number one. Why wasn't "Can't take that away" number one? Because it's popular by the fans. Like I said you need more than fans and lambs to have a number one hit. Randy can you define "signature song" for me? Do you need as an artist a signature song? 3. Regretful (48,568) by Chicago Lamb from USA I really regret not flying to NYC to see her Christmas show. After all the bad press, vocal mishaps, etc I just didn't want to be disappointed. Last night's Christmas show 12/16 (48,567) by SC from USA Hi everyone. I was there last night at the Christmas show and all I can say is that the YouTube videos don't do justice to how incredible this concert was. She was a pro from every aspect. I've seen plenty of mishaps in past concerts with mic issues, etc, etc., but last night she was simply perfect and almost too good to be true. I had orchestra seats and she sounded incredible. In the "Chanteuse" tour, I thought some of the dancers and stage production seemed somewhat outdated and cheesy, but the stage last night was incredible. Full of details and better than any other Christmas show thats out here in NYC (Nutcracker, Rockets, etc). Mariah seemed in great spirits and very relaxed. It was honestly like going to church, the choirs, the band, the little children singing and dancing. Even the little interludes with story telling were great. She looked beautiful and after last night, there's absolutely no denying that she's in top form. A prime concert that will hopefully be a yearly event. The amazing surprise last night was when she sang "Emotions". The crowd went completely wild. She did Hero too and the crowd loved it. The best part of the show for me were "Joy to the World", with the most energetic choir that I've even seen. Those guys were dancing while singing in an amazing way. Also AIWFCIY was excellent and of course Emotions. I felt so lucky to be in a room with such an iconic star and in such a professional and excellent show. So impressed. Response to Randy (48,566) by Bill from the UK Sorry Randy but I disagree. There are hundreds of artists who have had multiple #1 records which I cannot name, remember, or recite. We all know Mariah's songs because we are fans of her music. I have never once listened to a Rihanna song. If she played on the radio, I would not know it was her. Yet, I understand she is popular, has had a huge string of #1 records in the US and around the world, and know of her by her reputation alone. If you haven't worked out that Mariah's signature song is AIWFCIY then I don't know what to say to you. Everybody I know both knows and loves that song. And if you honestly value the opinions of stand up comedians and Perez Hilton over your own sound and reasonable judgement, then that's the way you're programmed. I know what I enjoy, and why I listen to Mariah every single day of my life. I think she is the best musician ever and I love her dearly. I don't have to have the media big her up for me. I don't have to see her at the top of every chart to recognise her ability. Mariah is always grouped in the same category as Celine, Whitney, Barbra, Diana etc., so I don't know why you are thinking she isn't. I don't think you have anything to fear about Mariah's legacy, she has already gone down in history for her performance in the 90s, and people will remember AIWFCIY in its timeless state, not the one and only ropey performance she did of it in 2014. Christmas concerts Beacon Theatre (48,564) by MimiLamb from Germany The only sad thing for me is that some just can't seem to just enjoy the performance or the clips and need to pick it apart to prove the moments she was lipsyncing and when not. If that is the point some have come to I just feel sorry for them really. I enjoyed the clips from last night and from tonight, flaws, perfection and everything in between. Keep it up Mariah. Because the last time we saw that was in AI and I didn't like what I saw. I think she is naturally weird, quirky and, I'm going to get a lot of flack for this, she's full of herself. And how can she not, she's been praise to the high heavens with some of the greatest compliments a person can get including legendary status. That's gonna mess anyone up on the head, and seriously, I thinks he already is. She's kind, philantrophic, and giving. But she doesn't view herself as "one of us". MC is most successful in her career when her real self is hidden from us. When she's handled with an iron grip manager. It's a terrible choice to live, but works for her career. Well, I'm glad she chose to control her life and be happy with what she got. If she's got nothing to prove, I think she should go away, for awhile, before she completely ruin her legacy. Streisand did that decades ago and came back stronger than ever. MC should take long leave, regroup, come back big and hard, then go away again. Don't phone it in. Signature song (48,558) by Darryle from USA I think it's kind of hard for Mariah to have a signature song. She has 18 #1's and all of them have a different sound. Mariah's went through so many musical changes that it's hard to say this one song defines Mariah's whole career. Whitney and Celine's signature songs both had accompanying movies. Titanic was a mega hit making 2 billion dollars and The Bodyguard 400 million. That definitely contributed to the success of the songs. Mariah's signature songs don't have any movies to go with them. The success is all based around the fact that the songs are based around the fact that they are fantastic songs to begin with. I gurantee if you asked random people to name 10 Whitney, Celine, or Mariah songs it'd be easier to name 10 Mariah songs because Mariah is not defined by one single song. Although if I had to pick a signature song it'd be AIWFCIY. It's known world wide. It's inescapable. (Wednesday 17 December 2014; 3:16)

And I stand by my Thank God I Found You remark. I went to the store to buy the maxi single at the time and it was sold out but yet radio was not playing it. Ask a non-lamb to sing Thank God I Found You by Mariah Carey. You will get crickets and yet it went to #1. Last night's Christmas show (48,554) by Dove from USA I cried blissful tears watching the clips. It was so beautiful and magical. I wish I could have been there. I hope they release a DVD or digital download. She looked like a living Barbie/dream girl. I don't have enough words to describe the envy I'm feeling for the people who went or are going. My son and I were supposed to go to NY for Christmas this year, too, so it hurts even more to have been so close to seeing her. I'm gonna go cry now. (Wednesday 17 December 2014; 0:21)

My Mariah wish list for 2015 (48,553) by Dove from USA 1. Bury the hatchet with Walter Afanasief. They both created their best work with each other and that can't be denied. He said it was his dream to work with her again. Give him a chance to redeem himself. Maybe even write some songs about how his betrayal made you feel. We've all felt betrayed by someone we trusted and I think people could relate. Maybe an apology song from his point of view but in Mariah's words, how she would want him to feel and apologise. Also a song about forgiving and finally letting go. They both need to put their egos aside and create some timeless classics again. 2. If there were to only be one more Mariah album I would want it to be uplifting and full of hope, life, and love. How she imagines the future for herself and for her fans. And stripped down. 3. Keep looking great. Endurance training so that she doesn't sound out of breath. 4. Interesting videos by someone new and not the guy who directed Heartbreaker, HATEU, or #Beautiful. R-E-S-P-E-C-T (48,551) by nikki from usa At the end of the day, Mariah's legacy, stats, and talent speaks for itself. The only problem with how people view Mariah is because she doesn't have a decent promo team. For the past 12 years, the only time Mariah is promoted is to push a new career endeavor. Her legacy is never promoted. Or more to the point, she doesn't have a "brand". Beyonce is "independent" and that's her brand. J.Lo thinks she's "real". J.Lo has a great promotional team, but no real talent to back it up. The moves are becoming so calculated that no one is buying it anymore. Shakira is known as a philanthropist and sweetheart for dedicating her life to helping impoverished children in her own country and dedicating herself to causes. Mariah is a beacon of hope for outsiders and dedicated her life long philanthropy to righting wrongs she had seen or experienced growing up. It is her brand, but no one but her lambs know of it. She's promoted as "successful" which doesn't make her relate-able. Her brand would humanize her, she'd receive less flack, and her accomplishments would be more praised because of it. Mariah needs a proper promo campaign that sells her as a person instead of her current song of the moment. Mariah should be Carey-ing her music, not her current song carrying her career. Good side/bad side (48,550) by Marissa from USA I wouldn't mind if Mariah genuinely believed that her right side was her best side, but she has said in several interviews that early in her career either someone from her camp or Tommy's told her that her left side was her worst side. She has let that one baseless comment rule her life for the past 24 years. It pains me to see her let some irrelevant fool's opinion continue to haunt her as successful and beautiful as she is from all angles. As you can see in this video, this isn't your typical lighthearted "I look better from this side" reaction. She's literally having a crisis. I just want her to fly above the petty comments and opinions about her and feel secure in the fact that she's a stunning legend who's legacy can't be touched. (Tuesday 16 December 2014; 21:15)
