I know she did World Music Awards this year but its not the same. I watch VMAs, AMAs, Grammys and there's just something missing without her. I miss the way it was back in late 2005/early 2006 when she was everywhere and nominated for things. Her undeniable talent and accomplishments alone should be enough to make her welcome. I can't believe Beyonce got 6 Grammys for her I Am Sasha Fierce album but Mariah only got 3 for TEOM. Like, really? I dont get it. They dont appreciate her enough imo. You sound like you can do a lot with it and I can hear you on the radio today. Very smooth and yet strong. I hope MC hears it, she would be proud. Reuben, I agree with you on Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas. That and I'll Be Home For Christmas are the last two Christmas songs I would love to hear her voice to. Babydoll (46,610) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines When a recent Billboard article described the Butterfly album as "sexualized midnight R&B", I'm pretty sure they were referring to Honey, My All, The Roof, and another highlight - Babydoll. To me, the latter track rivals Melt Away as one of Mariah's most understated and underrated sexy tracks. It's the epitome of '90s chill R&B. This, together with Breakdown, is just the height of elegance. Hip-hop at its classiest. But while Breakdown was driven by a steady beat, what makes Babydoll more interesting is the clash of elements. The jumbled percussion has an urgency to it that cuts through the soft, sultry musical backdrop. It, along with The Roof, also feature Mariah's first attempts at speak-singing, and man, did she succeed. It adds to the overall effortlessness of the track. It's such a great narrative, you can almost imagine how its video would've looked like. And she really sounds like a woman who's getting impatient and antsy for physical affection. I personally love listening to it after Melt Away, because they seem to share that downy, sophisticated feel. It also contains possibly one of the best ways she ever (indirectly) addressed her fans - the line, "Do you care for me beyond idolization?" And to that, we'd be like "We do, Mariah. New album sound (46,609) by 123 from USA With Mariah being in the studio again, I would like a jazz/hip hop album from her. If you want to hear what I mean, listen to the following mix (Jazz Loves Hip Hop Mix 2 by Sergo). It’s a perfect way to do a throwback sound while updating it with what’s popular today. I also would like her to work with Thievery Corporation and do some songs similar to those on their Saudate album. Pure bliss. I wouldn’t mind a remake of Sylk E Fyne-Romeo and Juliet with Drake. Maybe even a song with Kendrick Lamar or collaborate with Frank Ocean on something (writing/producing). (Thursday 4 September 2014; 6:56)

MIAMTEC Grammy chances (46,607) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines Well with now being September which usually marks the deadline for consideration of potential Grammy entries, I'm thinking of which albums could be up for nominations. Since October last year, some of what I could consider in the running are Beyoncé, Sam Smith's, and Mariah's latest, and maybe if they put a bit more emphasis on commercial success (hello 2010, 2012 Grammys), then Katy's and probably the Frozen soundtrack would be on the list. On a very slim chance, maybe Miley's and GaGa's releases would too. The only drawback is that MIAMTEC wasn't even a decent seller, and even made headlines because of that. It's a shame because when I first heard E=MC2 or MOAIA, I knew they wouldn't stand a chance to be nominated, let alone win Album of the Year. But with MIAMTEC, I felt it was just as strong, maybe even stronger, than her past nominated albums and as well as her unjustly overlooked Butterfly. I just hope Mariah manages to pull a Sara Bareilles and makes the cut straight outta left field, like The Blessed Unrest did earlier this year. I know the Grammys has gotten a lot of wins wrong through the years and has lost credibility because of it, but the fact is, when they get it right, they really nail it. Plus, the public interest a nomination revives is quite significant and I'm game for any chance to bump MIAMTEC up the charts. It deserves to win, or at least be nominated. Moreso, it deserves to be heard by more people. (Thursday 4 September 2014; 4:50)

Shake It Off (46,606) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines I know I've once said that we shouldn't sweat comparisons but can we just focus on this one solely for its ridiculousness: Taylor vs. Mariah? Really? And it's not even the songwriting part, which would have been a slightly more valid face-off. I mean why even pit 2 songs against each other if their only similarities are their titles and overall sentiment? Other than those 2, they have nothing else in common - different genres, different narratives, different singing styles, different levels of maturity, different chart peaks - the songs are practically worlds apart. Though Tay's is actually better than the average pop song, it's mostly a teen-oriented ditty, while Mariah's is a grown-up, smart, sassy kiss-off to a cheating lover that would've reached #1 hadn't it been blocked by We Belong Together. When I first read dem comparisons and saw dem polls online, I shook my head, and was like, "Wow, they're really that hard-pressed for 'material', huh?" Don't get me wrong, I'm no stranger to the Internet and I know the media has always been relentless, but now they're just willing to jump on every insignificant thing regardless of sense or significance just to have something to publish. "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" (46,605) by Reuben Walton from United States I was thinking the other day while improvising singing and driving listening to this that it would work really well if she covered it. Something in the same stylistic vein of "The First Noel / Born Is the King (Interlude)", there are lots of moments I was hearing musically in it that reminded me of TFN/BITK, opportunities for her to do her thing melodically with that same palpable tenderness. Maybe in a few years or something when it has been a while since she's done anything big for Christmas. I feel like since MCIIY was released, every December has had her really visible. JayCarey, this_is_qhm (46,604) by Edward from USA JayCarey, you have a great voice. At the beginning I thought it was Mariah singing (please take it as a huge compliment). You should do more, so we could be entertained until Mariah goes on tour. this_is_qhm, not, it isn't just you. Even though Ariana have gotten a few hits, and Iggy's "Fancy" set a record for the track by a female rapper that has spent the longest time at No. 1, other than Pharrell's "Happy" and Sam Smith's "Stay With Me" plus his entire album, 2014 has been such a bleak year for good music. Mariah's "MIAMTEC" was critically acclaimed and it could sit up there with Sam Smith's album "In The Lonely Hour", but sadly it never took up. I hope for a better 2015. I did like Ariana Grande's "Yours Truly", it was more cohesive and it followed a concept, but this new one is just all over the place. While I was happy with 2013 because there were many great singles and albums, this year has been a let down. Most singers are concerned with releasing 3 something minutes forgettable singles, instead of quality music, and it is so sad. Katy Perry may have thrown shades at Mariah, but she's so forgettable like the rest. Her five years of fame are about to be over. I can't wait for Mariah to have a huge come back, so she could tell Katy Perry: Dahling, mess with the best, die like the rest. (Thursday 4 September 2014; 1:39)

I fully devastated about the divorce, by the time the news came to surface, I was constantly watching Love Story's video, the Disney Land wedding anniversary, 20/20 interview in 2011, and I was literally crying. I thought there will be no divorce between the two since I found out that their love was too strong especially I was convinced by the fact that how spiritual Mariah is, but, I can't blame none of them. Mariah wants/Mariah needs... Jermash (46,598) by Jay from USA I totally believe Jermaine when he says he stepped down, the whole thing actually smells like it was a plan put in place until the separation of her marriage and the separation of the labels. Here we have Mariah teasing us with the album that keeps getting delayed and You're Mine (Eternal) is released and people are bashing her and/or Jermaine because of its lack of promotion and then the album push back again and in the end, we have a great album that she recorded more songs for and added remixes of old songs and an album cover with old pictures or photoshopped pictures (Thirsty and WDKWTD) and the news of the labels breaking apart and the news that she has a new manager and the news of her and Nick separating. The new songs/old remixes make sense now (even though just about everyone had a negative opinion about it). The new manager just happens to be someone associated with the old structure at the label. Perhaps Jermaine was just there as a "manager" until everything fell into place. We know Mariah may be hard to work with because she no longer wants to be told what to do career wise, who can blame her, and Jermaine has said that he's tried to direct her in a different direction (ballads) and all she wanted to do was hip hop inspired tunes. She needs someone that can guide her without her feeling that she is being molded into something she doesn't want to be. (Wednesday 3 September 2014; 23:56)
