Mariah can do no wrong (37,022)
by Carol from Spain
| |
|
|
I've seen videos of our queen in Sidney and iImust say I love you even more Mariah, because you are the definition of vocal perfection. Who cares if she screws up sometimes? She proves with these shows that she can do better than any new artist out there without striping onstage or being obscene. Maybe she should do a dvd of this mini tour.

Mariah was amazing (37,021)
by Tony Sciacchitano from Australia
| |
|
|
I just left the best concert of my life. Mariah was perfect. However in my last couple of posts here I was saying how bad Aussie media is and they did not prove me wrong, saying she left the stage for "breaks". Last time I checked they were called "costume changes". I must be getting old and not understanding the new hip lingo of today's generation. And she was never short of breath. She didn't sing the songs that could have left her breathless. But who cares? I loved it, my friends and family that went loved it. And that's all that matters.

Her voice was on point, not perfect on all songs, but she nailed it. Plus I love the stage. The best since TAOM tour. I'm excited to see new clips on her second concert tonight. I hope the voice gets even better.

Mariah Australia (37,019)
by Scott from USA
| |
|
|
Wow. She sounds great in the videos I've heard on YouTube. Lucky Australians. I saw her in Morocco, she was fantastic, but I think she sounds better in these Brisbane performances. I like the set list that she's chosen which I read about in an article. Have to say, I did notice her voice doing that split thing during Don't Forget About Us. You can hear some whistle notes coming out while she's trying to belt. Such a strange thing really

Digital Spy article and video (37,018)

My ex posted it on my facebook. It shows MC adlibbing and entertaining the audience while they fix her ear piece. She sounds amazing. And if you've read my posts over the years, I am very critical of her live performances. Especially when she lips. The voice sounds amazing and I hope and pray she is able to hold onto it during her promotional tour for the new album.

Australia performance (37,017)
by Licia from USA
| |
|
|
Oh how I wish I had been in Australia lol. She sounded really good from the videos that I saw. I hope she sounds just as good on the next two shows. As another member has said before, her performances from the last few years have not always been consistent and although I don't expect her to be perfect all the time, I would like her to be able to blow out these last two performances to shut some people up. The kids are uber cute and that Monroe is going to be something else. She was not afraid to speak. Lol. Congrats on the 15 years MCA. Keep up the good work.

"I'll Be There" (live) (37,016)
by Billy from Greece
| |
|

Oh my. Oh my. Oh my. That left me speechless. I've said it before, I'll say it again: Mariah always comes up with new techniques. There is always something I haven't heard from her voice in every new (top) performance. A sidenote (not a negative one, by any means): Trey was awesome as always, but it was the first time I thought his voice sounded "different" (a little deeper) than usual. Awesome, just awesome.

Yes, she is in the house and brought it down (37,014)
by Carol from Spain
| |
|
|
Yes Sirs and Madams, she delievered, she came with a full baggage of clothing and sparkle and actual talent. I'm so jealous of Aussie fans, but so proud of Mrs Mariah Carey Cannon for being the awsome singer, consumated songwritter and producer, actually talented person that she is. And yes, she is the only diva, the only one who can carry the title, because she is not just a girl with a hit record, she is a singer in the actual meaning of the word. Triumphant on the entrance and festive as she left. Be a lamb with pride, I know I am. I always have been proud.

Happy New Year- viva MCArchives, 15 years, wow (37,013)
by Edward from USA

|
Happy New Year to everyone. I hope you all have a wonderful 2013. Thanks again Eric for keeping this site up and running for so long. I was one of the fortunate ones to have found this site almost from the moment it came online. I think this is the best Mariah site ever because to me Eric is not a blind fan, he post the news from different perspectives here, not only the positive ones. Other sites haven't had a wonderful messageboard. It's maybe crazy to some, but there hasn't been a day ever since this site came up I haven't come to read the messages. It's crazy to think MCArchives was up when Heartbreaker became a #1 hit. I remember coming from work late at night and reading the news. I jumped, yelled, cried, screamed. Those were the days.

Foolish (37,009)
by Anthony Early from Wales
| |
|
|
I feel like such a right fool, because as much as I love Mariah and always will, she always makes me grin like a fool whenever I see her. My boyfriend is mesmerised by me being mesmerised by her whenever she is on tv or the radio. And I must admit something. Every time I see her give an amazing performance on YouTube, I feel pride. Such immense pride. I know Mariah is not my mother or my sister or my best friend, but she feels part of me like a family member. Like part of my life story. And I cry when she is down and rejoice when she is up. I say this because I swell with pride each time I see the Jimmy Fallon performance, amongst many others. How must she feel being only one of a handful of living legends? So yes I feel a fool. But a happy fool who made he right choice. I love you Mariah and I love you all my friends. Happy New Year.

Minaj (37,008)
by Lee from UK
| |
|
|
I have just been watching the Nicki Minaj fly on the wall documentary (not through choice) and caught her saying that Mariah "met her match this time". Has Mariah responded to this in any way? I know she spoke to Barbara Walters, but has Mariah made any other comment on this situation? Part of me wants her to have said something witty in return, but on the other hand I think it would better if Mariah waited until the live shows to lay in to her. I couldn't let it go if I was Mariah.

Lol. Who put together that press form introducing Mariah performing at one of the Australian venues? It's literally littered with shade. "Light years ahead of 'pop culture icon' Madonna"? Well that's more than enough to wake the sleeping dragons.

Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays to everyone (37,001)

Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays to all my MCArchives family. It's good to know we share a common bond, Mariah's music. I hope to keep reading your post for years to come. This messageboard wouldn't be the same if we all got alone all the time, lol. Thanks to Eric for having the time and passion to keep this site up and running for such a long time. Your efforts are not taken for granted, I do really appreciate all the wonderful things that you do.

Single ready for January? (37,000)
by M from USA
| |
|
|
I have to agree with a few others on here that the hopes of the new music will be so good radio will have no choice but to play it. Bums me out when I think of singles from "Memoirs..." that never got a chance, but have 20-40 million views on YouTube; Angels Cry and Hateu. Yes I realize that many fans think the wrong singles were picked, I don't. Mariah talked about the next single being a ballad, but I was hoping for another uptempo catchy pop tune. I guess we will see what's in store for us soon. Hoping for a Touch My Body meets Daydream era. Lol. I hope Randy is right about saying "she's making a very hot record". Maybe she will name it "lambily" (TLC did this for the fans). Lol not likely I know.

Aspen Holidays (36,999)
by Carol from Spain

Mariah's outfit is very unique. Not the best fashion statement, but I kinda like when she is that unpredictable. I wonder if the papparazzi go to Aspen to wait for the artists or something, because they are always on top of the event lol. I wonder if we'll see dem babies toddling around this year. I hope Nick has a better time this years, since it's been a year he had his problem.

Stop blaming Island/Def Jam for poor album sales (36,998)
by Edward from USA
| |
|
|
At this point, an artist like Mariah needs to deliver. Due to poor album sales these days, throwing down the house in promotion is falling more on the artist's shoulders. The type of promotion we used to see in the 90's, when artists really sold albums, is not going to happen anymore, unless you have a masterpiece. We need to stop blaming Island/Def Jam records for her poor performance with the last two albums. Mariah was the one who pulled the plug on E=MC2, not the label. As much as I want her to release music, for me as a fan, I want her to be successful, not by making Rihanna-like type of music, but by making the good music we know she can make. People are buying cohesive over all good albums, not just an album with three good tracks, because people would only buy those tracks and there goes the album. Look at Rihanna, with a No. 1 song, but her album is garbage. I perused through her album, and there's not a song I could tell you I want to listen to again.

Nick, dem babies and candid shots (36,997)
by Carol from Spain
| |
|
|
I love these candid moments Mariah and Nick share with us. How cute is it to see Nick with lamb slippers? Ha ha. I can see Monroe 's gonna be a eye stopper in a few years, because she is just looking gorgeous already. Maybe someday, Guess or Prada will hire dem babies for a campaign or something. Where do you think their second birthday will be celebrated in 2013? London? Caribbean? Japan? Well, with Mimi anything is possible.
