Better promotion (36,996) by Carol from Spain
I believe 2013 is gonna be the year of Mariah. I mean, we got Idol in January, then comes a new album and finally we hope a tour. One big part of Mariah's problems is, from my point of view, the promotion part that hasn't been handled correctly in these last few years. E=MC2 and Memoirs deserved better promotion, and they never got it. Hopefully, her management team takes her Idol participation in account and takes some benefit from it.

New music, whatever it is, I want it (36,995) by Carol from Spain
Regarding MC's new music, like I said it before, I just hope the audiences embrace it. Whatever. Mimi needs to be herself and not follow any kind of artist. People just need to accept that Mariah is unique and always makes the music she wants. I don't want another Rhianna, another Gaga who uses controversy to sell, Mimi is way better then all of them for that. Either it's RnB, Jazz, Hip Hop, Pop, I know Mariah will give us good and well constructed tunes that don't follow any patterns for the sake of selling. At this point, i just want new a new album, really.

I hope for blend of Pop/R&B album a la Daydream (36,994) by Edward from USA
I hope Mariah doesn't go all R&B on us again. She should know by now that she won't save that genre. By mixing it up a bit, like a Pop album with R&B infusions here and there she could potentially bring people's attention to the album. At this point is not about the high notes anymore, it's about making good catchy music. Even though radio plays what's catchy regardless of the content, I still believe catchy and quality can be packaged together in a good song, Mariah's done it plenty of times before. I have noticed that when she delivers good music and tones down the whispers, she does well.

Radio (36,993) by RibbonB from USA
Hmph, I've been skeptical of radio for the past few years and a lot of news is coming to light now that Nielson has bought Arbitron. I read an article in Madame Noire blog detailing how since 2007 Arbitron has been downplaying urban radio audiences and radio airplay. Arbitron has been sued and settled for fraud and other illegalities. I have noticed a damper and serious downplaying of R&B for the past few years and seems a lot of that has been from deliberate manipulation of actual audience numbers, especially since R&B has always been a modern music industry juggernaut. Here is hoping things get back to normal and it surely isn't all on MC's shoulders. It's just time for good urban music to get the airplay it deserves accross the board.

The new album (36,992) by Geezy from USA by way of NYC
As most if not all of the MCA community, I am excited as well. If Mariah can give us a mix of classic and current without it sounding too forced our girl should be just fine. Something tells me we are in for many surprises but good ones and I can't wait.

Mariah's demands? (36,991) by Paul from Usa
Reading the list of demands by Mariah is quite entertaining. Makes me wonder why she doesn't demand her own champagne and wine instead of Cristol. Haha, is hers not up to par?

MC 2013 album release (36,990) by Stacey from USA
I am also excited MC's album is the most anticipated one of 2013. I also get bugged with radio stations not playing her stuff, but if it is that good, they will have no choice. TEOM was an awesome album with great single choices and radio had to play them because the public was requesting them (i.e. WBT). In 2005, MC put together music that was current. We know she can do it again.

AIWFCIY (36,987) by JBfly from USA
AIWFCIY climbed 4 spots to 25 on the latest Billboard Hot 100 charts. I believe the song can reached the top 20 by end of the Christmas season. Though I want this song to be her 19th, I think it's to far fetched for a song this old (classic) to reach the top. You have to factor in the airplay, streaming and sales. The song is doing good on all 3 categories but not good enough. I believe the song has to sell 200k+ to even make it to top 3. What this song will eventually do is chart every year and that would ultimately give Mariah another record in the music history. And speaking of records, did you all know that Mariah leads the pack in terms of number 1 song that spent on top for 2 or more weeks? Mariah's first 12 number 1's all spent 2 or more weeks at the top. Closest artist is Usher with 9 I believe. It's so good to be Mariah right now. Merry Christmas to all my fellow lambs and fellow fans.

Rainbow fever (36,986) by Carol from Spain
Today, while I worked, I think I hummed most of the songs from the Rainbow album. This album is just amazing and has one of the songs that showcases Mimi's whistle - Bliss. Some like it, some hate it, but this song shows that her whistle isn't something to fool around. I believe it's a very hard song to perform life, but I would love to see it live.

Mariah's album and Billboard (36,985) by Carol from Spain
According to Billboard, Mariah's album is the most anticipated album of 2013. This only shows that she is far from being forgotten. My biggest regret is that the radio stations refuse to play her songs, because they might think she's not "fashinable" enough. I don't know, maybe I'm over reacting, but I really want Mimi's album to be top notch. I'm crossing my fingers and toes for this one.

Will/song clearance (36,982) by RibbonB from USA
I'm sure the songs cleared for American Idol are songs people have sung during the audition phase. Many of them are fairly obscure and are probably being sung by lambs who are there just to meet Mariah. I hope they won be butchered too badly. I especially hope to hear competent renditions of DFAU and Vanishing. I can only imagine what someone will do to Shake it Off. Lol.

Languishing - Brad USA (36,981) by Gilbert from USA
Have you ever had enmity towards anyone? I got that word from Mariah's Languishing track. "And after all these years of enmity envy and tears It's a shame you don't know me at all." Meaning of enmity: hatred, animosity. Synonyms: acrimony, alienation, animus, antagonism, antipathy, aversion, bad blood, bitterness, daggers, detestation, dislike, hate, hostility, ill will, loathing, malevolence, malice, malignancy, malignity, rancor, spite, spleen, uncordiality, unfriendliness, venom.

Bill (36,980) by Lee from UK
I also enjoy analysing Mariah's songs. I love hearing vocal layers I've never noticed before. It always tends to be older songs that I haven't listened to in a while. I love hearing new things in old songs.

Still discovering (36,979) by Brad from USA
One of my favorite songs to listen to is "Languishing", because there is an entire dialogue that she has which is so super whispery that you have to listen very carefully to detect.

My avatar (36,978) by Gilbert from USA
I've always loved this picture. Does anyone know where exactly it came from? I used to be on a mission to find the original picture, but never could find the source. I believe it's from 1997 era.

Bill/AI songs (36,976) by Will from England
Yeah, I had one of those moments a while ago. I was listening to UTS on my ear phones, and after she does the "sho do doom do do", and there are those high whistle notes in the background? I never realised that they actually continue on for quite a while after that. Never heard them before. I'm always hearing these small vocal moments in her songs, that weren't obvious to me on first listening. Like Languishing, someone here mentioned those extra lines she barely whispers in the background and I had never heard them and just brought the song to a whole new level. I'm loving the songs that she has cleared for AI, would love to some of them sing Prisoner or AIYM. She's included some gems really.

Bill (36,975) by Nattalie from USA
I freaking love to analyze her songs. I used to just sit down and do that, but I have stopped listening to Mariah for a while. But yeah, when I first purchased her albums, which I'm still in the process of doing, I would put on a specific great pair of headphones and just analyze her songs to find great ideas or feel the creativity.

Still discovering (36,974) by Bill from the UK
What I love about Mariah's music is, years later, I still find I am discovering new things in her songs. Today, after having heard the song well in excess of 1,000 times previously, I heard for the first time a very low "ooooh" harmony in "Can't Let Go", as Mariah sings the word "just" on the "just cast aside" line. Has anybody else had any recent discoveries like this? Am I alone in hearing new things years and years later?

Facebook page (36,973) by Carol from Spain
I don't wanna start a fight, but there is a page on facebook called Remove Mariah Carey from American Idol. I must say some lambs already payed a visit to the page and left their opinion. Some more lambs wouldn't hurt.

I realize Mariah is late all the time, but she didn't do this when she was starting up. 6 hours? That was mean of her. And besides, she earned her diva status, unlike Mimi. But I think Mimi is getting better with her schedules, don' t you? She's on baby time.

Mariah is still MC (36,971) by Randy from USA
I don't agree that she has changed beyond recognition. If you listen to MOAIA, there are tracks that are introspective like Languishing. Hate U reminds me of My All and I Wanna Know What Love Is is similar to Without You. There's a thread of introspect, wantoness, remake, love, hope and bitterness on each CD. What I am thoroughly angry about are the live performances since 1996. We can't tell if they're ever 100% live, because she's so slick now with the lipsyncing, unlike when she started that foolishness circa 1997 and she flapped her arms and spun around when she wasn't singing. I will grant you that she was good on the Rockefeller NBC thing, but it's a shame we now sit on pins and needles because we don't know what we're getting. For someone considered one of the premier vocalists of all time, it's sad that we're not getting spontaneous show off performances. Notice how now whenever an interviewer brings up how wonderful her voice is, she quickly tells them "I'm a songwriter". MC has yet to put out an album I don't love but MC live, wooph.
