Mariah Carey credit card not declined while shopping

Mariah Carey's credit cards were not declined while on a shopping spree in Beverly Hills, despite a new report that was widely picked up without any fact-checking. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct the claim, which alleges she had to pay cash at the Louis Vuitton store because her plastic was not accepted. We're exclusively told it's "not true".

RadarOnline, which has published a number of inaccurate stories about Carey, now contends that while recently shopping, it became "embarrassing" for the superstar singer when her credit cards were declined. The site quotes a so-called "eyewitness" as saying, "She was shopping on Rodeo Drive and her credit cards were declined." The same supposed source claims Carey thought it was a "fluke" when it occurred at the Louis Vuitton store, "But when it happened three more times she was embarrassed and humiliated." Actually, the take-away from this is that the webloid's "eyewitness" sounds more like a stalker who followed Carey around Beverly Hills.

The site relates Carey returned to the Louis Vuitton store and "ended up paying cash". The outlet's "source" adds, "Mariah is blaming her manager for the cancelations, postponement and low ticket sales of her tour with Lionel Richie. She's also had bad press and business deals." Wait, the "eyewitness", who purportedly followed Carey as she went to four different shops in Beverly Hills also seems to have insight into her professional financial dealings?

As a result of the story not adding up and the questionable nature of the website's "source" and/or "eyewitness", Gossip Cop looked into the outlet's report. A rep for Carey assures Gossip Cop the blog's article is "not true". We also called over to the Louis Vuitton store and no one could confirm RadarOnline's tale. It should be noted as well that the site suspiciously never stated when Carey's credit cards were supposedly declined. The more Gossip Cop investigated, the more it appeared this never happened.

The outlet has been very wrong in the past about Carey. A couple of years ago, Gossip Cop corrected the site when it falsely reported Carey was dating Brett Ratner. More recently, the webloid published an article that maintained Carey's boyfriend Bryan Tanaka demanded a raise to appear on next season's "Mariah's World". Of course, that was inaccurate for a number of reasons, including that the reality series was just an eight-episode event. Much like those stories, the current one about Carey's credit cards being decided at shops in Beverly Hills is also untrue.

The cast members of The House could not have been too far off on their accounts of what occurred on set. Otherwise, I don't see how Stella has the time to take out of her busy schedule of being a strong and empowered single mother of two, helping Mariah's career to reach oh so new heights of success to deny this story but not to deny the claims they made, which has received a lot more press, while this story was most likely going to receive none. I don't know if the story is true or not, though I would not be surprised if it is; however, these Gossip Cop stories are a mess. First, the person who spread those stories about For Hire being a golddigger was an "obsessed" employee and now this Radar article is worthy of alluding to the "eyewitness" being a stalker. On top of it, it makes no sense for them to use Louis Vuitton's most likely generic statement of truly not being able to confirm this story as proof that it didn't happen, when they were most likely just saying that they couldn't speak on the matter at all. Unless a company is in in a personal but public dispute with an individual, it's not exactly good business to go around blabbing the clientele's credit card acceptances and declines.

Well, the original report said that Mariah's credit cards were declined and that she was upset with Stella as a result. Stella's google alerts for her name must have went off, because she was quick to jump in here and deny the truth of this rumor. The House stuff was only slandering Mariah herself, so no need for Stella to get involved. Now, back to working on getting her make-up business launched. Um, I mean, her and Mariah's make-up business.
