All the Lambily wants for Christmas is Mariah Carey - and they're getting it again. The queen of Christmas announced on Friday that her annual Christmas Time tour is coming back for 2024, but with a little extra to celebrate.
"It's not time yet, but I have exciting news," the five-time Grammy winner teased in the caption of her Instagram post announcing the Christmas Time tour. In the photo, Carey wears a curve-hugging, sparkly red gown while standing in front of a festive fireplace, with four decorated Christmas trees and piles of presents behind her.
According to the press release, the tour will be Carey's "grandest spectacle to date" and will celebrate the 30th anniversary of her 1994 hit album Merry Christmas, which peaked at No. 3 on the all-genre Billboard 200. In addition to the superstar's classic holiday songs, the show is expected to feature other chart-toppers. The release also teased that the Christmas Time tour is just the "first of many surprises" Carey has planned to celebrate her holiday album.
The 20-date trek will kick off on November 6 in Highland, California, with stops planned in Los Angeles, Atlanta, D.C., Boston and more before wrapping up December 17 in New York City at Brooklyn's Barclay's Arena.
In the 2023 holiday season, the iconic singer's "All I Want for Christmas Is You" tacked on a record 17th week at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 on the chart dated December 30. The beloved Yuletide track also topped the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. tally for a 12th frame that week.
As for last year's holiday tour - dubbed the Merry Christmas One and All! trek - it earned Carey her best concert attendance in a quarter century. The 15-date run grossed $29.6 million and sold 214,000 tickets, according to numbers reported to Billboard Boxscore.
Tickets for Mariah Carey's Christmas Time tour start with a Verizon presale Tuesday (August 6) at 10 a.m. local time, and ending at 10 p.m. local time August 8. General onsale kicks off August 9 at 10 a.m. local time on Live Nation's website.
