(New York City) I love these different debates in regards to M's catalog and this is why I respect her and her artistry still today because she has something to satisfy her fan base both young and old and even those in the middle. For the good and bad and everything in between there is only one Mariah Carey and there will never be another. Songs like Make It Happen, So Blessed, Can't Let Go, To Be Around, but especially LYTTEOT and The Wind, the tone is strong. What emerges in Mariah's voice on the Emotions album is the actual emotion, mood, personality, and intense jarring vocals. You don't hear that in the debut album. Maybe, just maybe in VOL you do. Anyways I agree with Bill regarding Emotions. Definitely top 3 vocal album. (Friday 29 March 2019; 11:26)

Daydream (88,889) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway What I like about Daydream is the whole package. Her voice was on peak, I don't think it has any bad songs, my favourite deep cut, Underneath the Stars, is on it, the lay out is classy (she is sexy in calssy way on Butterfly, but on Daydream, she is classy in a classy way), it just feels so cohesive, the whole album and the videoes, it's solid work in every way. Since the Daydream Tour is her best tour, no question about it, the concert in Tokyo Dome is my go to live perpormance whenever I want to enjoy a masterclass in singing. I became a fan during the Butterfly era, but Daydream has come to be my favourite piece of work by Mariah. (Friday 29 March 2019; 07:56)

I was sad. I missed those mid-range vocals. I felt such a let down with amazing lyrics that didn't have the vocals to back them up. So when I got a 7:00 minute track full of snippets of each song, I was floored. I kept thinking gosh, this album feels like Daydream, part 2. I guess that's why I love it. It honestly was hard to pick my top three. I wanted to include Music Box. I first became a fan during that era. Such a unmatched catalogue of hits. (Friday 29 March 2019; 04:39)

Only on Music Box richness of tone emerges. There is a loss of thr jarring edge. On Merry Christmas, well, my old American pan pal from Farmville used to say to me that that was the peak vocally. And it was. Daydream has vocal flex. The belts were missing but the voice was elastic. It is this Mariah, I think, that everyone hears in their head. Daydream as a vocal is magic. It could be made into a movie. I connect it with her relationship with Nick (and my relationships before my current husband) so it really gets me in the feels. Listening to it feels like a rollercoaster ride down memory lane. It has a little bit of everything and her voice sounds full and strong. (Thursday 28 March 2019; 23:43)

It has always been my favorite so I guess I'd feel un-loyal if I brought it down. Also, It reminds me of the last time I was completely happy before my depression started. Drunk? Playtime (88,874) by Matty from Vancouver Canada I was curious how Caution's album playtime compared to previous albums. What's interesting is that MIAMTEC is one of her longest playtimes and then she swings to Caution; her shortest play time (I'm guessing A&R believed a drastically shorter playtime would increase sales and streams). 1. Caution - 38:26 2. Music Box - 42:01 3. Daydream - 46:42 4. Mariah Carey - 46:44 5. Emotions - 47:01 6. TEOM - 50:10 7. Glitter - 51:45 8. E=MC2 - 52:14 9. Rainbow - 55:49 10. Butterfly - 57:19 11. MOAIA - 58:01 12. MIAMTEC - 62:42 13. Charmbracelet - 64:45 It's interesting that MOAIA, MIAMEC and Charmbracelet are seen as Mariah's least popular albums and all three are her longest running playtimes (this judgement on the albums is not my personal opinion, I'm just referring to popular public perception and album reviews from critics, not sales or individual tastes). I guess there's something to "trimming the fat" the ways she did on Caution, as to not dilute the genius of other tracks. (Thursday 28 March 2019; 22:59)

So 1st Butterfly, 2nd The Emancipation of Mimi, 3rd Caution, 4th Me I am Mariah The Elusive Chanteuse. I love the others as well but I played them so much when I was younger that now I like to listen them once in a while. Even if it was Mariah's at her best in her career. I've been loving her even more when she has started making more hip hop and r&b. I got even more interests for her. I can not hide that I would love something with a bit of Jazz and acoustic but it is not the time to ask for it. Bye bye. (Thursday 28 March 2019; 22:44)

Final verdict (88,871) by Randy from USA When you look at MC fans in their 30s, they rank MIAMTEC and Caution near the bottom. It's so interesting to see how we all think so differently. I can't believe someone said Daydream was the beginning of the end of the voice when to me that's when she sounded best. It was Butterfly where her voice started to fray in my opinion. I also can't believe how far down most of you put the debut album. Well, I like Bye Bye and y'all cringe when I say that. B, Mariah is the sole producer on Vanishing and on an interlude or two throughout her catalogue. (Thursday 28 March 2019; 22:20)
