Live Nation deal (82,371) by Licia from USA After reading this article it gave me a little hope as far as the Vegas show goes. It won't be a number 1's show, which is great considering she has a huge catalog of songs. Some of those songs in my opinion are better than a few number ones. Jamie brought out a side of Mariah that relaxed her and was playful. There definitely was an attraction there, on both sides. I do remember the Memior interview they did when they both were married and he had children. It almost sounded like two past loves that both moved on. Mariah coming to Blackpool (82,367) by John john from UK I went to Live-wire last year (not planned was at a convention there) the lady at the hotel gave us the weekend pass for free, we saw Will Smith, lots of 80's groups and "the Jacksons". It was a great event. I think this will be a great platform for Mimi and something a little different. Anyone planning to go? Think I need to sort work plans out asap and get booked in. I looked on ticketmaster's website and they do not advertise Meet and Greet. Even when I called them (which was hell to get through a human being yo speak to), they said that Mariah is not doing a Meet and Greet. I always visit this site every day and Eyeguy 759 said that he got his ticket as an Ad On when you check out from ticketmaster. I did that and got a Meet and Greet for 10 September. Mariah's music has been an integral part of my youth and inspired me in so many ways. Her albums have helped me get through challenging situations in the past and I'm so grateful to her as a singer and songwriter that it is natural I want even a moment to meet her at any cost. When she visited South Africa, I was unable to get Meet And Greet tickets because they were sold out within minutes in every city. I booked accommodation at Harrahs for this Vegas show and will be staying there for a week, from 7 to 14 Srptember. They've done a few more throughout the years since then, and you just know by how they both talk and flirt that there is (maybe, even now, still is) something there, maybe not romantic feelings, but chemistry, mutual attraction and admiration. They've been rumored to be an item in the past - both deny it, but damn it, it really would have been nice to see them try. They make a really cute couple. Jamiah. Now we'll never know what would've happened if they did. And yeah, traces of that cool, carefree, flirty, fun Mariah exist in her clip for Allure. (Thursday 10 May 2018; 09:47)

It reminded me of the Jamie Theakston interview during said era so I went to rewatch it. Their interviews together are classic. He somehow made a connection with her early on and she is always completely comfortable around him. The sexual tension was palpable, their flirting wonderfully entertaining. The Heart FM interview during the Memoirs era was lovely but also special as a reunion for the fact that Mariah had just been married and she found out that Jamie just gotten married and had had kids. Both of the same age, it was lovely to hear them reunite. I would have Mariah on Heart during the next UK visit to not only meet him again but to co host the Breakfast show with him. Perfect environment for her/massive and mature audience. I cannot be arsed to post all the links so just search on YouTube "Mariah Carey and Jamie Theakston". Nicki Minaj, Ariana Grande, Christina Aguilera and Celine Dion are all going to drop this year, and there's rumours RiRi will drop as well in 2018. But I think this is all a great thing. I think it sets the stage for a year dominated by extremely talented women who can take us to church with their vocals (Nicki aside). Think more in terms of when Whitney, Toni, Braxton, MC, and Celine were all dominating the charts and compliment each others success at the exact same time; verses the past few years where apparently only one woman can be successful at a time. Her voice sounds like it is back to 1997 Butterfly era. I hope she releases a new song in July ahead of the Vegas shows for Song of the Summer. The anticipation and waiting is making me feel really good about The Butterfly Returns era. What other major female artist is releasing a new album this year besides Christina? Re: Janet (82,350) (82,351) by CDC from CA Well one might counter your sentiments on Janet with the idea that the Billboard Awards are an American product, and that the main prerequisite to qualify for the Icon Award is a long presence on the Billboard charts, which Janet has been. That, and a quiet quid pro quo PR campaign that'll ensure the recipient's participation in the ceremony. Not to keep backbiting Jennifer Lopez, but she really is the only stain on the Icon award roll call. Stevie Wonder, Prince, Cher... and Jennifer Lopez? Yikes. In terms of establishment recognition, I'd be more enthusiastic if Mariah were to be qualified for something like the Rock Hall of Fame, in which instance some of her artifacts (butterfly rings, bedazzled microphones, Christmas suits, Rainbow two piece) would be exhibited. Awards like this should have a defined criteria for who receives it or else it is rather meaningless. Janet Jackson had never been that popular outside of the United States. She has never been very commercially accessible. She is not making any headlines. It feels meaningless. That Jennier Lopez received it before Celine Dion is a piss-take. Even overdue for this type of recognition. 2015 would've been a good year to give it to Mariah (her silver jubilee), as she even performed that year and announced that it was her first return to the BBMAs in nearly two decades and even presented a mini video tribute. And had Idina Menzel present her who is one of the most perfect human beings. But the year prior they gave it to J.Lo so my guess is that Mariah didn't see the worth in that award anymore. This has nothing to do with style but is merely focused on making headlines while wearing the most bizar creations. Mariah looks her best when she plays the Old Hollywood card like at this years Golden Globes. As you mentioned... better appreciated elsewhere than to be tolerated at this "circus of the egos".
