There wasn't even a script dahling (55,636) by Lee TS from USA
I hope Christmas movie is a project where she is heavily involved crossing every T and dotting every I. Let it not be rushed and released just because. I need more of an Angela Bassett moment and not a Wendy Williams joke. Like she wished, I hope there are powerful players in TV movie land to make this successful. But yeah, let it be festive and maybe even become a new classic. I hope she will stand her ground and give good direction, this is going to be her baby and her name. The critics and public will be ready to pounce and pan her. I hope she doesn't star in it but a cameo would be cute, like a Salvation Army woman ringing the bell in front of Macy's or a cashier selling Christmas decorations. Yes she can provide a song for a scene or even the theme song but that should be it, she needs to remain a director first and not wear too many hats. I hope she can get some big stars to appear in it, let's see what kind of pull Mariah has haha. Talking about movies, if only Mariah was involved with Packer earlier maybe they would've used her version of Without You in the new flick Vacation.

Music videos (55,635) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Nowadays a music video is almost as important as the song itself. I think a lot of the bad songs do good on charts because the video goes viral and the streaming counts. I hope when M makes her next video, she takes note from her iconic videos and do something either big and fun (we all know she has a great sense of humor) like "Heartbreaker", "Honey" and "Touch My Body", or have a continuing story line like ILT and WBT combo. (Honey and HB also had a good storyline.) Or go artsy and simple yet sultry like "My All" where she can be sexy but not awkward like YME. No more videos like "Infinity" where there is no proper storyline (she looks gorgeous though but that's not enough for people to stream) and a waste of a potentially hilarious segment (with the 3 suitors). I think the key to avoid the awkward glamor shots and Mariah's favorite "touching the body" moves is to keep her busy in the shots with a storyline. Because in ILT/WBT there is a great balance between the "touching" and the story/choreography. YME is so heavy on the touching, there is basically no story, which is also sad because the location of that video was hot tamale. That video could have been a "My All" 2.0 had they laid down a storyline to go with the gorgeous locations and Mariah's gorgeousness in general. Another TMB like video would go viral because it's funny and sexy. Also I demand the return of Agent M. Get her a darn new mission so that we can get another iconic moment.

Not a fan of either of these girls but... (55,634) by Warren from Trinidad & Tobago
I find it very wacky and cool and wish that MC would do something like this again. The closest she came was with Jimmy Fallon and the Roots on AIWFCIY. Something like that alone now would be so cool and so welcome, with a female, Gaga or Katy perhaps since they've shown support. On a side note, I didn't know Miley's tone was that rich. I kinda like it and think she actually sounds better than the other girl.

Haha I do hope she brings her back at some point. I feel like that and Honey really showed her laid back/fun side.

Thoughts (55,629) by clueey23 from USA
I am excited for what is to come. Anytime MC is in jeans makes me happy. I love it when she is casually dressed and looks happy and relaxed. I don't listen to French or Justin Beiber but I'm also sure that their fans don't really listen to MC, so I think this is a win.

Future (55,628) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I was really happy to see Mariah working in the studio. I honestly was sad because I thought that maybe we won't get to hear anything new for like at least a year (if not two) from now. Because from Mariah's end she really didn't need to push herself to make a new CD. She could have just gone off to Australia and enjoyed life and taken her time to record. So I am happy that she is dedicated enough to not leave her fans hanging. I am not a fan of French, but I am still open to the collaboration. Plus I like Justin and if he actually decided to record on spot after hearing the song, it must be really that good, because he doesn't really need to do it. He has his own album coming, he has millions of fans and he recently had a big hit with Diplo. So the song must be good for him to jump in it voluntarily. Most importantly I am really happy that Mariah is probably not jumping into the direction L.A. Reid wanted her to go, because really she still has a lot to give in the form of original songs, she can do L.A. 's ideas later. If she is indeed making an album (or an EP) I am excited. If she is open to more collaborations, I'd like one with Beyonce, Bruno, Robin Thicke, Kanye, Gaga, Michael/Janet. Or just go ahead and surprise me, I don't care, I just want new MC music. Preferably atleast 2 club bangers and of course classic ballads.

Infinity: making the video, stage scene (55,627) by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
And I am all about that base in the end. Wow. It's sonically delicious. Ugh, why can't there be a thugged out remix or a completely new song just based on that alone? Anyway, these things make me happy, especially if they indicate a probable DVD output of the #1 To Infinity Vegas show with extra BTS stuff. My 2¢.

This was hard. I had a hard time choosing songs from Daydream and Butterfly. Thankfully, we don't have to pick just one song. Mariah has an impressive back catalogue. I find it hard to believe she only has 18 #1's..

Licia (55,618) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Haha I second your "Sweet baby Jesus please don't let it be a Christmas song". I really hope not. For me personally, I hope it's an uptempo feel good song, which good lyrics and a good sing along chorus.

New song (55,616) by Licia from USA
I'd like to hear the new song before I hate it. I gave Infinity at least 5 tries, before I fully hated it. Lol Seriously though I'm not too keen on another song with Justin Beiber, but I'm willing to give it a listen. I'd rather it just be her and French though. I can deal with him. As long as this is not another AIWFCIY remix for that Christmas movie, I'm pretty open minded to whatever they came up with. Sweet baby Jesus please don't let it be a Christmas song. Lol.

Wonwon (55,615) by Bill from the UK
I see what you mean, but Mariah doesn't need to try to make herself relevant anymore. She had so much success in the 90s, plus her comeback in 2005, that the mention of her name alone is always with the context of all that she has achieved. MC is not at a point where she needs to be #1. She's done that (boy did she), now's the time for her to just make the music she loves. RnB flavoured with hip hop, gospel numbers, urban balladry. As you say, it is all great stuff and her last album was fantastic. I wouldn't change it at all. If Mariah suddenly hooked up with David Guetta and Ed Sheeran in order to try and get a hit, it would be contrived. I would sooner, were Mariah to have another #1, that it is a sincere song written by her and not just something thrown together with a fad producer's name tacked on. She has never done that before and has always put the music first and remained true to who she is, which is a great RnB vocalist who trail blazed her genre. A meteorite that lit up the sky.

Alexis Morell Carrington Colby Dexter Rowan (55,612) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Aren't you always such a delight? You haven't even heard the song and you are already hating on it. How do you even know that it'll be anything like "Bitch I'm Madonna"? Also people have different opinions about who can sing and who can't, yours is not the ultimate truth. Anyways, you no longer really surprise anyone, because people know you just come here to be shady and rude.

That one song from each album (55,611) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
Yet another impossible task, but can I at least mention those that came too close but didn't quite make the brutal cut? Here goes whatever:
Mariah Carey - All Alone In Love (I Don't Wanna Cry is close behind)
Emotions - The Wind (Can't Let Go almost made it)
Music Box - Never Forget You
Merry Christmas - All I Want For Christmas Is You (feel really bad for Miss You Most (At Christmas Time))
Daydream - Fantasy (kicking myself because I didn't choose Underneath The Stars or Melt Away)
Butterfly - Fourth Of July (what about Buttefly, Honey, My All, Babydoll, The Roof or Outside?)
Rainbow - Heartbreaker (so sad I couldn't include Can't Take That Away and Crybaby)
Glitter - Lead The Way
Charmbracelet - Subtle Invitation (Lullaby, There Goes My Heart, Miss You, Boy (I Need You), I Only Wanted, Yours are all runners-up)
TEOM - Circles (Your Girl, Mine Again, So Lonely (One & Only Part II) are faves as well)
E=MC2 - I'll Be Lovin' U Long Time (easily could be replaced by I'm That Chick, Heat, I Stay In Love, or Cruise Control depending on my mood)
MOAIA - It's A Wrap (just a hair above Ribbon)
MCIIY- Christmas Time Is In The Air Again (together with When Christmas Comes or Charlie Brown Christmas are part of the perfect Yuletide Mimi throwback trifecta)
MIAMTEC - Make It Look Good (Faded and Dedicated have been great contenders, though)

Mariah not relevant anymore? (55,609) by Wonwon from Indonesia
Well, Mariah is the best female vocalist of this era. But, people get bored with her formula. Mariah need a new touch. She can make the fast beat song like she did before (Emotion, You're So Cold, Someday). Mariah's situation now is just like Madonna at the Like A Virgin - Like A Prayer era. At that time, Madonna was known as a pop rock female, the style from her beginning of music career. After that, Madonna find a new style by working with Babyface (Take A Bow) and then doing Evita (really fresh for Madonna), and then after that, Madonna was a flop for some years, just like Mariah today. I remember Madonna then change direction. She never worked again with her old friend producers like Steve Bray, Jellybean, Patrick Leonard (these producers give her the image of her music), but gave herself a new producer; William Orbit. Really new. Never heard Madonna like that before. Madonna all out with what William Orbit want. The result is the classic "Ray of light". Madonna still writes the songs (just like Mariah) but there's no older Madonna at that era. I just thought, Mariah needs some contrast change. Just go from that diva style. If Mariah want to try dance music, do it all out. Mariah's music style is old. Not up to date anymore. Songs like Cry, and all materials from MIAM, sound still like Mariah, pop, R&B, Hiphop and ended with Gospel. Is it bad? Not at all, for me it's very good. But did not sell well, right? It's ok to make a good album although it not selling well, but it will be perfect if that good album also sold out. And remember, today's music is pop music. Easy listening, simple and harmony. Forget that hard jazz idea. (Again, sorry for my very bad English.)
