They are becoming a bit much and it's kind of yuck. They should keep their business private and if they happen to get pap that's fine. Their private photos should remain private. I mean just for the sake of the relationship if they want it to work. I think Nick got the idea Mariah, you got yourself a billionaire. Cheers, toast to you. Can you imagine if it was the other way around? The lambs would be on the attack. Didn't think Mariah would be sporting another heart necklace after she gave her first one away. I wonder if it's really true about the reported price, that is some expensive gift for such a tiny little thing. Anyway, I hope she enjoys a little time off and puts in the time to give Israel a fabulous show. Only amazing vocals allowed.

Love or business? (55,479)
by Kyle from USA
| |
|
|
I'm just playing devil's advocate. I'm not saying this is the scenario that is happening with Mariah and James but throwing it out there as anything is possible. He is a very rich man who is in the casino business. Maybe Mariah is keeping him near to secure her future of performing. He will have resources that she can cross market new material with performances, etc. Before the casino industry, he was massively wealthy at a media company. I think there is some business dealings that Mariah sees as an opportunity for her to stay relevant down the road.

May she rest in peace (55,478)
by Ardis Logic from Earth

|
|
The whole situation with Whitney and her beautiful daughter Bobbi Kristina is heartbreaking. I really don't understand why things like this have to happen. I just hope that her spirit can be at peace now. I hope they get to the bottom of how this all happened. I have a very bad feeling that someone is behind both of their deaths. It's just too freaky that they both almost died the same way.

Licia / cardboard cutouts (55,476)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
| |
|
|
Licia, I completely agree with your post but just wanted to let you know (in case you didn't) that those big cardboard cut outs seems to be a regular thing for the hosts of the parties at 1-OAK club. Scott Disick is usually the host and I have seen in a couple of places that when he is in the club, big card board cut outs of his face along with his girlfriend Kourtney's are usually waved around. Same with when Kim K and her family goes there, their cardboard cutouts along with the person they are dating are usually waved around the club when they make appearances there. So it's not just Mariah and James. I am just writing this because I saw others on other boards also find it creepy. Which I can't blame them since I don't get the point of it but it's a regular thing there.

The "new romance" (55,475)
by Natalia from Italy
| |
|
|
To be honest, I am a little creeped out by James and Mariah's relationship. I always remember her being very private with her relationships in the past. Once in an interview, she even said something along the lines of, "I don't think I should have to talk about my relationships until I am married to that person." That is not an exact quote, but it was similar to that effect. It seems like Mariah has changed so much over the last few years. I don't know what to think of this "new romance" between her and James. It's hard to say because you can't believe everything you read and only half of what you see anyway. Who knows? Bottom line, she deserves to be happy and feel loved. Isn't that what every woman wants?

The media overkill (55,474)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
| |
|
|
I am a little irked by the over exposure of the Carey-Packer relationship. I am all for her controlling how the media portrays her but to always have to put the stories of their relationship out is a bit too much. I have been reading on various boards that Mariah's vocals have improved drastically and that she has been slaying each show. I wonder why none of that is being highlighted because first and foremost Mariah is famous for her voice and it was her voice that was attacked tremendously around the world last year (along with her mental state). So now that we have established that she is not a crying mess, dying for Nick, why not tackle the other more important issue, which is that MC is still the most powerful voice in the industry? Why not capitalize on her winning vocal moments that she is delivering. Yes one video was leaked months back to TMZ showing her hitting the high notes but that was months back. Why can't we be bombarded more with leaks of her vocal ability rather than her personal life? I am not asking them to completely stop with the relationship stories, but there should be a good balance of stories regarding Mariah and it should highlight her talents more than her personal life.

I called it when those pics leaked. A few people got mad at me and a few people saw it as I saw it. Those cardboard pics in the club of with their heads was overkill and kind of creeped me out. As I said before she's never needed this much media attention for her relationships nor has she ever put herself out there like this. IMO all this media about her relationship has been overshadowing how great she has been doing on her last shows. I haven't seen any stories about her shows and if I'm wrong about that (which I hope I am) please direct to where I can see them.

Bobbi Kristina has passed on (55,471)
by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
| |
|
|
This Sunday Bobbi Kris let go of her life here on earth and joined her mother in the light. It's bittersweet because it was too soon, it almost always is, isn't it? I haven't even really mourned Whitney yet but if it was a matter of Bobbi Kris being surrounded in pure love then at least she has that now. My condolences to all her family and friends who are left behind with the burden of grief. May she rest in peace and always be remembered with love.

Does anyone else feel like Mariah is playing a game with this man and all this press? Like she is being her usual flirty self and he may (or may not) be taking it seriously? I hope she doesn't end up with another (more powerful) Eminem situation when things go bad.

Mariah's choice of clothes, picking on Mariah alittle (55,466)
by Amber C from USA

Mariah's fashion moments ended in 2013. I think she desperately needs a new look. From hair to makeup to wardrobe. I can't stand those long prom gowns. I can't stand the Butterfly era slash We Belong Together era hair and makeup. I miss how great her fashion and make up were during her debut, Glitter, Charmbracelet and E=MC2. Oh well. lol. I think Mariah should go red in hair. I think she will look beautiful in the hair color her mom had during the 1997 Oprah interview, or something like that. Sometimes something as small as a makeover can do everything.

Sorry to disturb the peace but... (55,464)
by Marissa from USA

I can't hold it in anymore. This relationship feels so damn phony to me. In the beginning I thought it was genuine. Then when the "candid" photos like the kissing photo started getting released I felt an irrepressible urge to call bullshit. Since when have candid photos of Mariah ever been "leaked" unless she was posting them to her own Instagram? My issue is the attention-seeking vibe that I am getting from this. If she's in love, great. I'm not saying that they should break up. But Mariah is too talented for this Kardashian "look at me" bullshit surrounding the relationship. Like I've said before, it feels like she is trying too hard to prove that she has moved on. And miss me with that "she looks happy so no one should have anything to say" mess because she looked happy with Nick Cannon as well and a lot of lambs hated the relationship from the very beginning before he even started pulling his stunts and shows. Surprisingly, as random as their relationship seemed, it felt 10x more believable to me than this.

This is a really though question. I think, I will choose AIWFCIY because when I hear this song, it brings back my childhood memories. And I can't imagine a Christmas without Mariah Carey. It is also a classic song that doesn't age with time. I always play this when I feel lovely.

I feel that Mariah's voice is entering a third prime. Just needs some polishing on the runs and once she can belt nice F5s live, that's it. That would be her third vocal prime.

I would have to say "The Roof". That is probably one of the sexiest songs she has ever written. It's so sultry and smooth. I love how she sampled Mobb Deep's song "Shook Ones Part II". She really captures how you feel when you are falling in love or crushing on someone. So hot.

#1 To Infinity (55,457)
by B from USA

This residency was a great idea. Her voice is in fine form and her stage presence is improving with each show. Mariah is primed for a comeback. I don’t think Mariah or Epic released Infinity expecting it to be her next big hit. Mariah is a talent to be reckoned with and she’ll be back at #1. Bet on it.

Jhud (55,455)

I could never really get into her music. She can definitely blow with the big vocals, but she doesn't translate well to pop/mainstream music. She's very church-y in the way she sings. She's only good for that one Dreamgirls' song and doing tributes in awards shows. Maybe she can do a tribute when Mariah decides to do a Divas Live moment dedicated to her ala Diana Ross 2000. Jhud can definitely do MIH then and Beyonce doing WBT. Ariana and 1D can do One Sweet Day. Kelly Clarkson doing VOL. Fiftth Harmony doing ABMB. Aretha doing TMB. Christina doing Vanishing. Britney doing Honey. Maroon 5 doing Heartbreaker. Taylor doing Dreamlover. Lol just for laughs.
