Mariah's Heartbreaker post / Rainbow (55,295) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines What's up with her posting a lyric from Heartbreaker? Is it personal or just her being nostalgic? That being said, that lollipop pic got me nostalgic of the Rainbow album and its era. Listened to it in its entirety after quite some time and I was reminded again of just how underrated it is. Sure, it's tough to follow Daydream and Butterfly, but this was the best Mariah could muster under the strained circumstances at the time - and the fact that it's her most rushed album to date doesn't really hurt its quality and overall appeal. It's a great testament to Mariah's work ethic and her refusal to compromise quality even when everything seems to be working against her. Plus, the album is very aptly named. I love the cover (though Mariah seems a bit too tan, but it suits her) and I've read that it's Mariah's favorite. It really is quite colorful sonically, you could almost hear all shades of the spectrum in the music, if that makes sense. Plus, it gave us Bianca, that feisty alter-ego we all are still waiting for to make a proper comeback. Heartbreaker and its remix, CTTA, After Tonight, Bliss, Crybaby, Petals, TGIFY, are all killer. Sure, there's more filler than usual, but it is still a great album where urban Mariah came into being. Collectively, it's the inspiring sound and story of a strong woman's unwavering optimism. Or take an extended vacation down under among the kangaroos. Thing is, I'm already thinking about Christmas and Rockefeller. Do you guys think she will be invited this year to sing? And if she does, do you think she should do it to maybe redeem herself? I think it would be funny yet very shady if NBC asks Ariana to headline the tree lighting singing AIWFCIY. Also, I want to see M's face when she watches Zoolander 2 haha. Anyway, I hope Mariah can keep up with Dembabies math homework. I'm sure she's helpful since they don't pass double digits yet lol. 2015 Fan army face-off (55,291) by Malcolm from Asia Lambs, our girl wins the first round of the competition, and the current round, Chris Brown is her competitor. They are having a stiff competition but Chris Brown is leading. I think this is the time that we, the lambs, must join forces to vote for Mariah because if she win this, it will truly benefit her image here and will amaze the other fan-base that until now many lambs are supporting her. If she will continue to the next round, she will compete Beyonce and it will be very hard but at least it will shows that she have a strong fan-base. But I will not deny that it will be nice if she beat Beyonce because that will say something and become an achievement for all of us. It's sad she deserves happiness but I think she needs to finish Vegas, period. I honestly think Mariah needs to record a new pop album soon, ageism is real. Live vs studio (55,287) by Luke from United Kingdom No problem, Andrew. It goes well in the song, I've always been amazed at how she does that. I think it goes well with the cheerful vibe of Fantasy. There is a part in We Belong Together live where she sings the part "when times get rough" but she sings the "rough" part with a sort of run. She does it in the BET performance. "Love Takes Time" Vegas (55,286) by Billy from Greece I love the way she sings the bridge of LTT in Vegas. But the phrase I love the most (after the climax) is "couldn't see that I, that I was so (damn) blind". Just listen how she elongates the "i" sound in "blind". It gives the song so much more pain, and adding that "damn" occasionally just transforms the song from a teenage heartbreak to a plea of a person who has lived, loved and lost. Vegas, Angel interlude (55,284) by Manny from U.S. I just got back from Vegas. I saw Mariah on Sunday. I was super excited as my sister and I sat on the orchestra section. That's the closest I've been and even though it was row MM I swear she looked at during the concert. She passed real close when singing ABMB and I took a video, but she didn't look our way. I stood there quiet as I got star struck. I know you're not supposed to take videos though. Speaking of preludes and interludes, I haven't seen anyone mention the meaning of all the high notes on Angel prelude. I think all those high notes is an angel or angels crying. See this is why fan meets should happen. Enough with banging on about the instrumentals without the vocals or crap songs. You made my day. Better topic: live vocal melodies that should have been put down on the tracks. For instance: the final 'they can try, but they can't take that away from..." live on Oprah. Butterfly the song (55,280) by Warrior Butterfly from USA 'Originally, Butterfly was going to be a house record and, in fact, Fly Away was my starting point for the song," according to Mariah herself and I was thinking how WA said something about how Butterfly the album was unfinished. I tried to find the interview where he is talking to a station anyway. I like to think had Butterfly the song had stated strictly a house record how would it have shaped the album as whole. Seriously if you remove the song Butterfly from the sequence and play as is Fly Away is a great surprise. (Wednesday 15 July 2015; 1:14)

Unfinished song that are interludes or preludes (55,279) by Warrior Butterfly from USA I noticed Mariah uses inter/pre-ludes very sparingly. My hunch is these are parts of the original song. Angels Cry has a slightly different vibe from the album cut. Vulnerability maybe was an original concept for Heartbreaker was a ballad. Interlude (Fantasy Sweet Dub Mix) was another idea for Fantasy that did not work for the track. However one interlude irks me, Languishing feels very unfinished as if it could have been fleshed out more. With that said I think it very pretty the way it is and the fact that it's under the standard song length of 4+ minutes is nice and simple and makes a statement. (Wednesday 15 July 2015; 0:59)

In so much as it doesn't go down a lot: the last "on" is on the major key, and it's massively happy, playful and banging. "On and on and oh-oh-on." I have no idea if that makes sense. And this is probably ridiculous. I just pissed off my neighbours with it from my car, and found myself singing that part like that and I wanna hear that performance again. Because. It. Was. Banging. Legacy artists, she's a tad bit too youthful don't you think? (55,272) by Amber C from USA 2015 is the year Mariah became a legacy artist. When your solidified as such off course it's hard to have people give a flick about your new music. I bet her people weren't thinking about this. I'm tired of Mariah performing the #1s over and over and over again. In her case I personally believe overdoing the #1s thing is not working to her advantage. This is because she's been doing it for so long (mentioning the greatest hits), it's cool to think of Mariah as old school. But lame to think of her as current. In my opinion it's a little too early for this album and this Vegas era. I'm just scared that the next album will flop again because of the perception that the general public who aren't lambs have of Mariah's brand as of now. But if Mariah want to live in Vegas and perform the same hits over and over again, more power to her. . But as for me, I'm bored of it. Sony wasn't looking to make new memories, and it's quite obvious by their choices. Mariah is the one person who should have never set foot in Vegas. (Tuesday 14 July 2015; 22:45)

The Vegas hype and Sony Records (55,271) by Amber C from USA Sony Records is s succeeding at making Mariah a legacy artist and Mariah is not hurting the process with those ball gowns. Gwen Stafani can release something next year, as can JLo and age wouldn't be a factor. A lot of us on here are saying Mariah's voice is getting better, but honestly her voice sounds exactly the same as last Christmas minus that one mishap on NBC. I wish Mariah never did Vegas and never went to Sony. The product we got for Me I Am Mariah, from the very beginning of that era to the very end was everything. I listen to Chanteuse and it's awesome. Mariah is mislead because if she flops or if an album does bad she tries to run from it. The Art Of Letting Go could have been a success if they followed through and did not second guess. Stupid LA Reid wil try to make some RnB washed up mess and I'm scared. I don't trust LA Reid as I feel Mariah is blind sided buy this man. Many people don't trust him in the industry. Mariah believes that he loves her but it's all fake. He is one of the men in the industry that screw people up. I see right through him, for making her believe the Emancipation's success was due to him. Remember that hashtage that he made when Infinity came out? He put "We belong together" there in the hashtag with Infinity. He mislead Mariah to release Infinity which is single handedly inferior to every single song on Me I Am. When will Mariah just quit trying to rewrite history?
